Review of Barchester Wilton Place Care Home from Laura J (Friend of Resident) published on 24 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Had a lovely time visiting my friend today at Wilton Place. The staff were great and the atmosphere was welcoming. The other residents were enjoying tea and cake in the garden brought to them by a member of staff so we joined them! I could see a number of activities had been arranged for the day and I took a quick peak at the lunch menu - looked great, well done Barchester! The dinning room was set up like a proper restaurant - looked very inviting.

Thank you for having me and for looking after my friend so well.

Review of Barchester Henford House Care Home from Rosemary L (Daughter of Resident) published on 24 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

On our first visit to look at the home we were made very welcome and management took details of our mother and her specific needs. We were shown rooms which were available and a decision was made on that day to send our mother to Henford. She has been cared for with the greatest level of dignity and patience. Staff were always welcoming and available for chats with the family. They kept in constant contact updating us on her situation and outcomes regarding medication and Doctor visits. If they had any concerns they would always phone and ask permission as we were LPA's. The two main nurses who cared for her went above and beyond. The palliative care she received was of the highest standard and when she eventually passed the phone call was made with much compassion. We were very lucky to have found such an outstanding home.

Review of Barchester Cedars Care Home (Salisbury) from Peter C (Son-in-law of Resident) published on 3 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
I have been regularly visiting my mother in law at The Cedars since she became a resident two and a half years ago. During this time her changing physical and mental needs have always been dealt with in a sensitive and caring way. Today, actually her 96th birthday, she was taken out on a boat trip with other residents then we shared a birthday cake made by one of the chefs, food is prepared in the on site kitchen with the menu posted up daily. The schedule of activities is well judged, varied and includes Chair Pilates for those able to take part. The garden is suitable for wheelchair and walker users and includes a variety of trees, roses and other plants.

Staff are friendly and the home is well managed.

My mother moved to Cepen Lodge a year ago because she was incapable of living on her own as her dementia had worsened. Cepen Lodge and it's staff is the best place she could hope to be. Not only is everyone very well looked after, there are truly fun events and the staff are lovely. Very grateful that she is here.

My mum had a short stay at Wilton place for respite.

The staff were great and so kind to my mum. They made her feel very welcome and so did the residents. The food was lovely. I was happy to leave my mum there as I knew she was well cared for.

Thank you so much for your review, it was an absolute pleasure to care for her and the whole team were sad to see her go home at the end of her respite stay. It was lovely to see you again when you visited last week, the invitation is open for her to return at any time!

All the staff and services provided made my mother-in-law's stay a great experience both for her and her relatives. Despite her complex needs and wants, everything was done to cater for her wishes and make her stay a positive one. She enjoyed meeting the other residents and looming in the many shared activities that were provided for her.

All the staff went out of their way to make sure that her needs were met and are a credit to the organization.

Henford initially took my dad at very short notice for respite care following a long hospital stay and rehab. When he arrive he was barely mobile and needed a lot of assistance. After a month we decided that he needed to stay. As a result of the care, support and encouragement he was given he improved so much that he has now moved back home to live independently. Every member of staff was brilliant, caring and personable. There were frequent visits and activities for dad enabling him to experience things he would never have done outside. Thanks to everyone.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to provide your feedback. We miss him dearly, but wish him, and all your family, nothing but the very best!

My parents were one of the first residents at this new home in Wilton, very near to where we live. Sadly my father died after 3 months but my mother only died this week (aged 102) after a total of 3.5 years at the home. I cannot praise the home more highly, their care has been exemplary, the staff without exception being kind, compassionate and supportive to both my parents and my family. The building is beautifully maintained and attractive and great efforts are made to keep the residents happy, occupied and supported. I can also vouch for the food having eaten there with my Mum many times with superb buffet lunches provided for my mum's family birthday parties. The home is a great credit to Antoinette, the manager, and we will miss our frequent visits there.

It was my aunt's 100th birthday and the staff organised a wonderful concert and celebration, including many other residents & their families, followed by a smaller refreshments for just our friends & family. It was a lovely afternoon which my aunt very much enjoyed. The staff were all very helpful and lovely with my aunt & her visitors, along with all the other attendees.

It made my life so much easier knowing that I could rely on the staff to do such a good job, both on the day, and in the earlier preparation & organising.

Love the atmosphere of the home. It seems bright and "living", busy. Love seeing the school children visiting, all the residents really perk up.
All the staff are friendly, kind and always happy to help.

I think it's as good a home as it gets largely due to the hard work of the staff.

Review of Barchester Cedars Care Home (Salisbury) from A G (Daughter of Resident) published on 16 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Following an unexpected terminal cancer diagnosis in Hospital, my 92 year old mother did not want to pass away in hospital and so we found Cedars Nursing Home and were lucky enough to secure a lovely room for her within a couple of days.
The staff at Cedars, from the receptionist to the management and the housekeeping team to the nursing staff were all so warm, friendly and professional. They made it so easy for my brother and I to put everything in place quickly and without any stress. We cannot rate the food and drink at the home as my mum wasn't able to eat anything but we did meet the Head Chef and I am certain that the food would have been really good.

Sadly my mother only spent 2 nights in Cedars before passing away peacefully on the morning of the third day. She was out of hospital, out of pain and in a beautiful, calm environment. It was the last thing we could do for her. Thank you Cedars.

Hi Ali, thank you so much for your kind words. We are so glad that we could make mum's last wish to come true. We are happy that, we have a really good team of staff members here at Cedars who goes above and beyond to make sure that our residents are looked after well and safe. Thank again and condolences to all of the family members in this difficult time.

In previous years I had been more than happy with the care that my father received. When my elderly mother became more acutely disabled I was very grateful at the speed & flexibility that the team displayed in receiving us in a moment of need. We cannot thank all the staff at Henford House for the reassurance they have given us as a family. Review of Barchester Cedars Care Home (Salisbury) from Sue K (Respite Resident) published on 2 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

As I live alone I needed a week's care after total knee replacement and a friend of mine went into the Cedars after breaking a leg after a fall. Another had chosen the Cedars for end of life care as she had pancreatic cancer. Sadly she didn't live long enough to get there. So 2 recommendations. I can't speak highly enough of the wonderful care I had at Cedars. Such kind, dedicated staff. Nothing was too much trouble. I was even taken on a tour of the grounds in my wheelchair! Great choice of menus and I could even have sandwiches in my room for later if I wasn't hungry at dinner time. The quiet night time checking by kind staff. The list of timings of my medications for me to take home. It was also very nice to sit in the sheltered courtyard with tea and cake brought to me and any visitors. I could go on, but the Cedars is a beautiful nursing home in lovely grounds with wonderful, kind, attentive, professional staff. I came home feeling well able to cope on my own.

My relative is resident for 6 months having dementia and physical needs.Staff from all areas of the home have been amazing. Calm supportive and sensitive and respectful, always directing their communications to her by name. She is very settled here and I feel has built trust in those around her.She is fully dependent for everything and when I visit I can see how thoughtfully she has been cared for in every aspect including the set up of her room or inclusion of things that she might enjoy both through the care staff and activities coordinator. If there is anything that I mention or ask about it is immediately responded to . I am not local though do try to visit regularly but have been kept well informed of any changes.
The staff have been very supportive of me and always make time to talk.
There is an air of well coordinated communication between all staff in the home and it appears that they have very good staff retention which says so much.

I'm very pleased she is able to be here.
