Mum is being very well looked after. She has now been in Pentland View for 2 years, whilst she is never keen to leave her room the staff continue to offer opportunities to do so. We are grateful she is not left in her room and for the times when she joins events. She also particularly enjoys visits
from therapy animals and the staff always make sure she gets a visit, she is enjoying the food and is now drinking enough for the first time in a long times. Finally we are always made very welcome when we call and visit.

My father-in-law has been at Seaview for the past 16 months. In that time the nursing, care and kindness shown to him has been excellent. He reached his 100th birthday in the manager and the team made sure it was a very special occasion for him. With the activities coordinator organising a full programme
of events it was certainly a very memorable day for my father-in-law. They topped it all off with a visit to the Mey Games where my father-in-law was honoured to meet the King.
None of this would have been possible without the dedication given to his welfare by all the staff over these past few months. A very special thankyou to the activities coordinator for going above and beyond to make his 100th an occasion for my father-in-law and his family to enjoy and remember.

Our family has now entrusted our mum's care to Pentland View for three and a half years. In that time we have developed very good relationships with the staff, who know our mum very well. The are aware of her needs and care for her with good humour, patience and sensitivity.
Communication is particularly
good; we never hesitate to call or email and, likewise, staff know they can contact us. We are reassured to know that our mum is safe and very content at Pentland View.

The respite and subsequent end of life care given was absolutely outstanding.
All the staff from cleaners, carers, nurses and management have been so kind, friendly and understanding.
We could not fault a single thing.
We feel so fortunate to have been able to get a bed just when we most needed
it.
Thank you to the manager, clinical lead (there are many more to thank) what you do makes a huge difference. Thank you.

Both mum and dad had to enter Seaview in January. What was a very stressful time for our family was made better by knowing that Gayle and her team would be looking after mum and dad. The staff and management really do care, it's genuine. For the families that makes us feel special and relieved that
we know our loved one are being treated with love, respect and dignity. Mum was very ill and she was well looked after. The staff all loved dad. Tears were shed by all the staff when dad moved to a care home nearer our house. I know they meant it when they said they will miss him.

As a daughter who was very unsure and reluctant to put my mum into care, I can't thank all the staff and management enough. From the first call, I received from the manager to arrive at the home for the first time to drop my mum off.
The staff made this transition a lot more relaxed and easier for
us both
My mum settled in quickly with the help/care/consideration/support and enthusiasm of the all staff.
I loved the buzz that was instant to see and feel in the day room supporting each resident as their needs were met. Staff showed great care and love towards them all.
The daily activities were amazing to watch as the staff buzzed around both residents and visitors.
The home environment was clean/modern/bright and homely, which I also felt helped me as I really didn't know what to expect from a care home setting.
Thank you so much Seaview Nursing Home.

We have had such a positive experience, as a family, with the care my dad is receiving at Barchester Pentland View Care Home since he has resided there these past few months, I felt the need to share. We have found the staff to always be professional, friendly and really caring towards my dad and other
residents under extremely challenging situations. The care assistants, activity coordinators, nurses, management and domestic staff all do a brilliant job with a much-needed dose of humour and show tremendous kindness towards residents who at this stage in their life may have more advanced stages of dementia. I have found them to be honest and transparent when there have been issues with my dad. Above all, they have shown compassion and understanding not only towards my dad but also my mum who has been going through a tough time with the transition of my dad going into residential care. Well done Pentland View!

I visited an old family friend who has been a resident there for a few years. I took my 95-year-old relative with me as I am considering care for him as he lives with us, 24-hour care is now a consideration. I was pleased to see our family friend so happy there. The staff were so friendly and kind,
a really happy atmosphere, amongst all the staff and the residents. Her own room was lovely. I visited the salon - delightful, my uncle was so impressed with it as he used to be a hairdresser so I would imagine he would hang around there most of the day in one of the lovely chairs nearby. I went around all the lounges and dining room, it was beautiful and clean. The interior decorating furnishings and lighting of a very high standard. I am impressed that there is such good care in Highview, and also impressed by the activities/outings available to residents. I loved the little garden and refreshment area. Happy staff, happy residents, happy vibes came across 100%.

My mum went into Seaview for a week's respite care while I was on holiday, initially, she was very apprehensive about going in as it was a new experience for her but she thoroughly enjoyed her experience she felt safe knowing that there was someone there for her 24 hours a day. She was delighted with
her room, it was spotless, and the facilities offered while she was there. All the staff were excellent and nothing was a bother to them, the meals were lovely and she was impressed with the choices on offer. Although it made her realise that she's not yet ready for full-time care (she didn't like the idea of someone else doing her washing) she's hoping to be able to access respite care again.

Becoming responsible for a parent with advanced dementia is not easy and for many people, going into a nursing home is their greatest fear. For my mum, we were out of options and after a difficult nine months trying everything, including lovely respite care where she was beyond the facility's capabilities
and suffered an additional brain injury, a four-month stay in hospital, she eventually came into the care of Memory Lane at Barchester Highview House Care Home. The most important aspect of care is finding the correct place and level of care for the person. For my mum, Memory Lane has been perfect. The unit feels calm yet full of life. Memory Lane is an example of what can be achieved and I dread any of the staff members leaving. No nursing home is perfect but whenever I have noticed something that I think my mum would prefer to be done differently, it is acted upon. My mum has blossomed since arriving here and although dementia has changed her, we have come to appreciate every day that she thrives in Memory Lane.

I cannot speak highly enough of the excellent care and attention by the manager and her staff to my brother. The staff are dedicated and treat all residents with dignity and respect. My brother has settled in well in the home and I know he feels safe, content and happy. There is a friendly atmosphere,

The staff are very compassionate and professional, they are always happy to help and the physical care is excellent. They provide proper adjustable beds with correct mattresses and all the furniture and surroundings are new and very bright and cheerful. The food is excellent and they can adapt the meals

My husband has just spent 2 weeks respite in Highview House Care Home.
He was made to feel very welcome on arrival by all the very friendly members of staff, who had remembered him from a previous visit.
He needs a lot of help in all aspects of his day-to-day care, and this was carried out for him
with kindness and empathy.
He was encouraged to participate in activities, which was reassuring to know, otherwise, his days could have been very long for him.
He was very happy there.

My wife was admitted to the nursing home in December 2023 suffering from dementia from day one the staff have been pretty marvellous in meeting her needs, she constantly needs reassurance and comfort from them to make her feel secure and so far they have provided it in spades for which I thank them.
The
managerial staff have also been very helpful with advice as to how to manage my wife's condition and allocating extra support when needed with the help of the social work dept in the area and to them, I say thank you also.
It is early days yet but so far I can only commend their commitment to carry out a very difficult job.
