Barchester Seaview House Nursing Home

Seaview is like a five star hotel , every member of staff I have come upon is happy , welcoming , caring and works really hard to make all the residents and families happy , nothing is to much bother , it's spotless and lovely food is offered to the residents . There's always activities happening and outings ,it's just the best place and I would recommend it . My Dad was very lucky to get a place , I knew it was good but I now know it's first class care .

Mum has been a resident at Seaview for just over two years now, after going for temporary respite at the end of 2023 but quickly deciding she would like to stay permanently! The manager and staff are amazing; caring and compassionate, treating every resident with respect and responding to them as individuals. There is a very homely family atmosphere when you visit, and staff always seem to have a smile and endless patience. The bedrooms and lounges / dining rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished. There are a whole host of activities, events and excursions, often tailored specifically to the interests of residents. The staff create special times for everyone. Mum enjoys the food, and I have also been impressed on the couple of occasions I've joined her for lunch. We very much appreciate the care Mum receives, especially since we live hours away, it's really comforting to know Mum is content and looked after so well.

None of this would have been possible without the dedication given to his welfare by all the staff over these past few months. A very special thankyou to the activities coordinator for going above and beyond to make his 100th an occasion for my father-in-law and his family to enjoy and remember.

Both mum and dad had to enter Seaview in January. What was a very stressful time for our family was made better by knowing that Gayle and her team would be looking after mum and dad. The staff and management really do care, it's genuine. For the families that makes us feel special and relieved that we know our loved one are being treated with love, respect and dignity. Mum was very ill and she was well looked after. The staff all loved dad. Tears were shed by all the staff when dad moved to a care home nearer our house. I know they meant it when they said they will miss him.

My mum went into Seaview for a week's respite care while I was on holiday, initially, she was very apprehensive about going in as it was a new experience for her but she thoroughly enjoyed her experience she felt safe knowing that there was someone there for her 24 hours a day. She was delighted with her room, it was spotless, and the facilities offered while she was there. All the staff were excellent and nothing was a bother to them, the meals were lovely and she was impressed with the choices on offer. Although it made her realise that she's not yet ready for full-time care (she didn't like the idea of someone else doing her washing) she's hoping to be able to access respite care again.

I cannot speak highly enough of the excellent care and attention by the manager and her staff to my brother. The staff are dedicated and treat all residents with dignity and respect. My brother has settled in well in the home and I know he feels safe, content and happy. There is a friendly atmosphere, the staff are always cheery and when I visit I am always greeted warmly by all staff. I have complete confidence in the care he receives and cannot thank the staff enough. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home.

The staff are very compassionate and professional, they are always happy to help and the physical care is excellent. They provide proper adjustable beds with correct mattresses and all the furniture and surroundings are new and very bright and cheerful. The food is excellent and they can adapt the meals to suit different appetites. I am most grateful for the kindness shown to my father-in-law and I can recommend Seaview as a lovely place to stay for respite or longer-term care.

Seaview epitomises personal-centred care, my father although frail has his independence encouraged and when visiting we feel very welcome as part of the bigger family. The staff team is wonderful.

I was concerned when I reached the point where my wife had to enter the care home. The management helped set my mind at ease with their very welcoming approach. The carers have been great. They are very dedicated and treat all residents with dignity and respect. My wife has settled well in the home, is always happy and is enjoying her stay. The staff are all very upbeat, cheery and welcoming. There are lots of activities arranged for the residents. I now have a different perspective on care homes having seen the way my wife has been treated. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home to anyone.

My husband was made to feel at home by the staff, and the manager came to see us not long after we arrived, which l felt was very kind and caring given her busy day; it made me feel important and not just a number.

My husband has been a resident for over two and a half years, and in that time he has received exceptional care from a dedicated and professional care team. From the outset, the atmosphere in the home has been friendly, encouraging and entirely positive. All the staff contribute enormously to his wellbeing, and also make it a pleasure to visit, for myself. He has been treated with kindness and the utmost dignity and I have complete confidence in the care he receives, and in those providing it.

My dad came into the care home in October 2022. He has settled in well. All the staff have made this easy for him as they are so professional and easy to work with. When I visit I am always made welcome by the manager and staff. They have lots of activities that my dad is encouraged to join in and I am very happy with the care he receives.

The management and nursing teams provide a five star service for the care of the patients and I can only commend them highly for this. The food provided by the catering team is of a very high standard with my dad now gaining weight since his admission, he is brighter within himself and I see a big improvement in his wellbeing compared to when he was in hospital.

Lots of activities to keep him entertained also.

My mother went into Seaview House Nursing Home in Nov 2022 where she has settled in extremely well. The staff are very friendly and exceptionally caring to the residents. There always seem to be plenty of activities taking place which my mother enjoys.The food is very good and I would say my mother is looking very healthy. I would give Seaview full marks and say they are doing an excellent job.

Lovely staff who treat the residents with care and compassion and like one of their family. Also on hand for queries and keep us updated. Have made settling in very easy. Lots of activities for the residents to participate in and keep active.

The staff are pleasant when they meet you and are very helpful if you have any concerns. My mum is a completely different person since she moved into Seaview last December; she is interacting with other people and joining in with the activities they have, which she did not do when she was at home; she gets her hair done, she gets on well with the staff, and she is enjoying the meals. She loves the entertainment, especially the dancing.

We couldn't have been more wrong with our thoughts. She looks as though she is loving life again. Interacting and being the social butterfly she had once been many years ago. That is all down to the manager and staff at Seaview. In 3-short weeks, she is a new person.
