Amazing service and I couldn't believe how quickly mum settled in. Straight away mum was joining in with activities and making connections with staff ans other residents. Family and friends are always welcomed and looked after too. Thank you!

The staff are always looking for ways to entertain the residents. In my father's case, they knew he loved art and painting, so they arranged a trip to the local art gallery to view the displays and exhibits. Including a visit to the cafe. Dad loved being back there after many years.

It is such a comfort knowing that she is being looked after by people who genuinely care about her wellbeing. The staff are patient, compassionate and always treat her with dignity, respect and kindness. The atmosphere in the home is lovely and it is clear the staff work hard. A huge thank you to every member of staff for everything you do.

We, myself and my wife are always grateful for the caring and helpful dedicated staff who care for our relative. It is very comforting to know that she is safe and secure in excellent surroundings, well cared for with nursing staff on hand to deal with any medical issues. The atmosphere in Kirkburn Court is a very positive one , the staff always welcoming and the team are led by a dedicated and committed manager. 5 star service in all aspects- well done and thank you.

I feel very confident and reassured that my dad gets the best care by all the staff members in the home. He always appears happy when I'm in to visit him and he seems at ease in the home. He never asks to go out but if we ask him out he's delighted to be going somewhere different. I'm very happy with the care he gets, the staff can't do enough for him. He's well looked after.

In the most part as a family, we are very happy with the care and support our Mum receives at Lethen Park. Recently her hearing aids went missing and the Team were so helpful in getttng replacements. The activities are good but sometimes 'take over' which can be overwhelming. For both Residents and visitors, staff should be easily identified by badges. Regularly staff do not wear them. I would recommend no personal phones on staff when working unless approved for specific reasons. This would ensure families know when on handsets it is work. The floral displays in the car park and the garden have been hugely welcome and are uplifting. The majority of the Team work really hard each day to deliver the best experience for all Residents. The weekends do however seem to lack supervision sometimes leaving staff in sole charge of areas. A key improvement, if possible, woukd be to have a focal or single point of contact to coordinate care, needs, appointments etc.

Mum had a great time and met her old neighbour from where she used to live. Amanda gave us an information pack for guidance on what may be ahead for mum with her dementia journey.

I went along with my sister to the first meeting of the dementia cafe. We met several other people whose family member was also a resident. It was great just to chat about the same issues and problems we all share. Plus we had some lovely cake and coffee. Great job by Amanda and rest of the staff.

My grandmother moved into Lethen Park in June 2026, following significant cognitive and physical decline where her safety was at risk and she had become very isolated. With social care experience in the family, we were anxious about the move - but the first months have been very positive for her. She has settled well into group living, supported by all staff.

We know there will be bumps ahead, but her experience has been excellent. Kevin was so supportive while we prepared her room. Amanda and her team have given Granny a wonderful range of activities - it's lovely seeing her socialise again and rediscover skills she'd lost. She is so proud of her paintings on her wall!

The building is kept clean and tidy and routines and care offered meet her needs well. She is more active, eating well, socialising and far less anxious knowing staff are there 24/7.

The only areas we feel could improve are delays in sharing the care plan and some aspects of communication from management.

My husband has just moved in and all staff have done their best to ensure that his transition was smooth. Every time I visit I see staff going about their duties in a friendly and professional manner. I always get acknowledged / by name and it just took one day for staff to know who I was in to see. All my queries are answered and I feel comfortable asking about anything. It's early days but so far I am very pleased .

My mother has settled in now after 5 weeks thanks to all the staff mentioned above. We can only highly recommend Fairview Nursing Home to any family member looking for the required facilities.

My father was in Lethen Park for two weeks of pain monitoring and my feelings about it are extremely mixed. On the one hand the building itself is clean and bright and well furnished, the staff are overall very pleasant and the food is more than adequate. On the other hand there are some serious issues. I made a complaint that my father had been wearing the same clothes for the first three days he was there (was told I was mistaken but I wasn't). On day four my sister called to say dad was wearing a grey shirt he described as 'scratchy'..he doesn't own a grey shirt. I went in the following day and he was wearing a peach coloured t-shirt which most certainly didn't belong to him..on further investigation neither did the underpants or pyjamas which were in his drawer. My father got home and I received an invoice for well over £1000 when it should have been less than £500. Worst of all was that dad was released without his diabetic meds and no one thought to advise us he'd run out.

Having a relative with dementia throws you into an unknown space. After careful consideration of all care homes I decided on Fairview. The minute I came through the door I felt the lovely ambience and saw the smiling faces of the staff. Almost a year on my decision has proved correct. My sister has thrived in this environment and her care is second to none. For anyone wanting reassurance in placing a loved one in a care home I cannot recommend Fairview highly enough. There is nothing too much trouble.

My mum came to Kirkburn almost two years ago. I have always been glad we chose Kirkburn. The place is spotless, mum is always treated with care and dignity and she is always clean and provided with food options she can manage. The staff are all lovely. They are mostly local and relate well to the residents. We see the same staff all the time meaning they build up meaningful relationships with the residents. My dad was also resident here for a short time and he always said how nice everyone was. The home is bright and airy with lots of activities and a safe secure garden residents can enjoy too. I have no regrets about choosing Kirkburn.

This care home is absolutely first class. As a retired GP and with hospital experience of geriatrics I have visited dozens of care homes: this is the best one I have seen. A perfect score of 100% slightly spoiled by the very intrusive constant high-pitched bleeping on the corridor. This was less intrusive on subsequent days: but you might want to consider altering the pitch &/or sharpness.

We had the use of the private dining room to celebrate our sons 40th birthday. Everything was beautifully set out and ready for us, the staff really enjoyed looking at all the baby/growing up photos that decorated the room.

My whole family are extremely happy with both the facilities and the staff. The staff have a caring nature and most importantly, there is a range of activities that are often daily, thanks to the imaginative recreation team. We all feel very welcome when we visit my father and it feels like a home from home for all the visitors. My father who has dementia is settled and seems very happy which is also very re-assuring for the family. Highly recommended.
