The cost per week may apprear to be expensive but think of this way -
It works out at about 20 pence per minutes for all that is provided.
Personal Care and Accommodation, Meals and Activities, etc.
Reply from David Garland, GM at Barchester Kirkburn Court Care HomeThank you for your kind review and I will pass this on to the staff team.

We are incredibly grateful for the care and compassion shown to our family member at this home. From the very beginning, the staff have been kind, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to the wellbeing of the residents.
It brings us great comfort to know that our loved one is treated with dignity, respect,
and warmth every day. The team goes above and beyond-not just meeting needs, but creating a safe, friendly, and supportive environment that truly feels like home.
One thing that really stands out is the range of activities available. There is always something engaging and enjoyable going on, which makes a huge difference to residents' quality of life and helps create a positive, lively atmosphere.
Communication with families has also been excellent, and we always feel welcomed and reassured when we visit. It's clear that the staff take pride in what they do, and it shows in the happiness and comfort of the residents.
Thank you to everyone at the home for the wonderful work you do-we

I cannot recommend the care workers enough for what they do for my mother in law Mary they take time to chat to her and are always so pleasant I have just been diagnosed with fnd which is really hard but after finding out that Morag one of Mary's favourite also has this ( I had never heard of it and
to know someone with it has made me more positive ) Morag is just amazing I really don't know how she manages everything she does as some days it must be so hard for her but it's so obvious she cares so much about everyone she cares for because it's an illness you can't see I'm sure no one knows how hard it must be for her but I've never heard her complain thank you to everyone for their patience and kindness towards Mary x

My mum has been in Fairview House for 8 weeks now and she absolutely loves it....all the staff are absolutely wonderful with her...have seen such a difference in her she's more alive now and is interacting with other residents and with the activities available...the only down side is the food situation
but that isn't on Fairview it's mum herself isn't eating much but she's been that way before she went into care...overall we as a family are extremely happy with everything....
Reply from Mel Shearer, General Manager at Barchester Fairview House Care HomeThank you for your lovely review. We're so glad your mum is enjoying her time at Fairview and that you've seen such a positive change in her. We'll continue to support her with her eating as best we can.

My father (Sandy) spent 8 months at Fairview House Care Home and was so well looked after and we'll be eternally greatful to all the staff for making his last few months caring and safe. So many activities and fun staff to go along with them. Dad was comfortable and at ease the whole time. Food, cleanliness,

We are 100% happy with the care our dad is receiving, we are delighted with everything. He has flourished since being in the memory lane unit and our family are always welcome in the home. We have hosted gatherings in the blue lounge and it is such a great feeling to know we can do this. Amazing home
and staff are always there for you. We not only observe this with our dad but when we are in, the love to others can be seen and everyone is treated so well. Nothing is ever too much bother for anyone.

My Mum & Dad moved into Fairview in 2017. They had 2 happy years together before my Dad passed away in 2019.
The whole team (admin, nursing staff, carers, catering, housekeeping & hairdressing) give 100% to look after the residents.
Catering provide excellent, healthy meals and Mum now enjoys her
food - even gets a cake on her birthday.
The activities team work at entertaining everyone with wide variety of activities every day.
The home is kept immaculately clean by the housekeeping staff.
Carers look after my Mums personal care and she is always well dressed.
All the staff are very welcoming to visitors- always a smile and warm greeting.
Nursing staff are excellent in communicating any issues to family.
I do not have enough space to say a big thank to everyone for my Mums care - I would certainly recommend Fairview to anyone who is looking for residential care for their loved ones.
Reply from Mel Shearer, General Manager at Barchester Fairview House Care HomeThank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt review. Your kind words about every part of the team mean a great deal, and we're truly honoured by your recommendation.

My wife had to be admitted to Fairview following a catastrophic sub-arachnoid haemorrhage in June 2025. As you can imagine, this came totally out of the blue and was completely unexpected. Despite having gone through such a traumatic episode, we were faced with the fact that she would not be coming
home. I was a Senior Nurse so my expectations were extremely high. We chose four possibilities, but to be honest, in every way, Fairview was way ahead, and we were so pleased that Mum was offered a place at Fairview. From visiting other care homes , there really was only one which was streets ahead of the others - Fairview. My wife took some time to settle as she didn't understand that Fairview was her new home. Before we were leaving her we would tell a member of staff who came to be with her to make our departure so much easier. I am so happy with the standard of care, the facilities and just the whole feeling of homeliness. I can relax in the knowledge that my wife is well cared for.

My dad had a very short stay at the nursing home due to his illness being further on than we were told, however we as a family was so happy when he was offered a room with Lethen Park. From the moment he arrived he was treated with total TLC. Unfortunately he only had 9 days here however the care and
compassion he received was just amazing right up till he passed away on Christmas Eve. The care and attention we all got on his last few hours just made a really a very hard situation so much easier to cope with. As soon as we're arrived here with dad we were made to feel very welcome

Mum could not continue to stay in her own home safely, and so much research was done to make sure the best home was found. In my opinion Fairview nursing home is one of the best homes in Aberdeen, and so the family chose here for mum.
Mum enjoyed almost 6 months at Fairview. The staff all went beyond
the extra mile to make sure all their residents feel special and cared for. Mum needed quite a lot of care towards the end of her chapter and Fairview staff were so professional and caring towards her. The atmosphere at Fairview is so welcoming and you could turn up at any time of the day and always treated the same way, with happy friendly staff. They always made you feel welcome and could update you on any aspect of mums care and wellbeing. It was reassuring that mum was in the best place and family could relax knowing this. Mum was always presented nice and clean and enjoyed the meals. I would certainly recommend Fairview to anyone looking for that extra special place to stay.
