My mum came to Kirkburn almost two years ago. I have always been glad we chose Kirkburn. The place is spotless, mum is always treated with care and dignity and she is always clean and provided with food options she can manage. The staff are all lovely. They are mostly local and relate well to the residents. We see the same staff all the time meaning they build up meaningful relationships with the residents. My dad was also resident here for a short time and he always said how nice everyone was. The home is bright and airy with lots of activities and a safe secure garden residents can enjoy too. I have no regrets about choosing Kirkburn.

We had the use of the private dining room to celebrate our sons 40th birthday. Everything was beautifully set out and ready for us, the staff really enjoyed looking at all the baby/growing up photos that decorated the room.

My whole family are extremely happy with both the facilities and the staff. The staff have a caring nature and most importantly, there is a range of activities that are often daily, thanks to the imaginative recreation team. We all feel very welcome when we visit my father and it feels like a home from home for all the visitors. My father who has dementia is settled and seems very happy which is also very re-assuring for the family. Highly recommended.

We highly recommend Kirkburn Court as a care home. The whole care team were unfailingly cheerful and kind to our Dad, and welcoming to the family. His individual wishes were respected, and the quality of food and care given was excellent. We so much appreciate the support and care that he received, thank you.

The cost per week may apprear to be expensive but think of this way -
It works out at about 20 pence per minutes for all that is provided.

Personal Care and Accommodation, Meals and Activities, etc.

I cannot recommend the care workers enough for what they do for my mother in law Mary they take time to chat to her and are always so pleasant I have just been diagnosed with fnd which is really hard but after finding out that Morag one of Mary's favourite also has this ( I had never heard of it and to know someone with it has made me more positive ) Morag is just amazing I really don't know how she manages everything she does as some days it must be so hard for her but it's so obvious she cares so much about everyone she cares for because it's an illness you can't see I'm sure no one knows how hard it must be for her but I've never heard her complain thank you to everyone for their patience and kindness towards Mary x

Our family has had a very positive experience with Kirkburn Court, and we couldn't be happier with the excellent care and attention that our mother has received.
From the moment we first walked through the door, we were struck by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are truly exceptional-kind, compassionate, and attentive to every detail. It's clear that they don't just see this as a job; they genuinely care for each resident as if they were their own family. The manager does a fantastic job, and a lot of credit must go to him for creating and maintaining an environment where such high standards are consistently delivered maintained.

We have complete peace of mind knowing that mum is not only safe and well-cared for but is also happy and thriving even with the challenges that she faces on a daily basis. We would not hesitate to recommend Kirkburn Court to anyone seeking the best possible care and environment for a family member.

My dad has been in Kirkburn Court since April 2023. The care he has received is second to none. Our family couldn't have asked for a better place for my dad to be looked after.
Everyone in Kirkburn Court are always very welcoming. From the manager , receptionist and admin staff, catering, laundry, domestic , activity organisers and of course the carers. They are always so friendly to our family when we visit and they are so good to my dad.
He has regular reviews where we can raise any worries if we have any.
He gets out and about regularly for visits arranged by the activity organisers and he is encouraged to take part in lots of activities in the home which he really enjoys.

I would definitely recommend Kirkburn to anyone who are looking for a care home for a family member.

Mum spent 2 years with Kirkburn Court. In her time there she was very well looked after by all staff. It was apparent from photos on Facebook and on our visits she was enjoying life.
As with many dementia sufferers. Her condition declined, but the level of care never altered.
She really enjoyed her food and the entertainment provided there.
As with some, she will be remembered for some fruity language!
At the very beginning we were welcomed as family and this is still the case even after mum has passed.
Th care and attention provided to mum was exceptional. The help, guidance and support show to us was both informative and useful.
Manager at Kirkburn Court has always been approachable and understanding throughout.

Thank you to all.

The care that my friend receives at Kirkburn Court is first class. My friend has a great relationship with the staff and enjoys sharing banter with them. He refers to Kirkburn as his home and he is very settled there. I have found all the staff to be very friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. There is always a variety of things going on in the home, including concerts, bus trips and animal visits. My friend particularly enjoys spending time in the garden. The home always has a warm and fun atmosphere and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
