My father suffers from dementia, and moved into Falmouth Court Care Home three months ago when my step-mother could no longer care for him at home. My sister and I both live hundreds of miles away, so it was essential that we found somewhere that we were 100% confident would look after him well. Every
single member of staff is incredibly warm, welcoming and friendly. They have all made an effort to get to know not just Dad, but also me, my sister and step-mother. They are so helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The home is stunning and always spotlessly clean. The food is great and there is always some form of entertainment for the residents. Dad thinks he is staying in a luxury hotel and has settled well. The staff really do care for their residents. I'd highly recommend it!
Reply from Catalin Danciu, General Manager at Barchester Falmouth Court Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We can not fault the care given to Mum during her time at Kernow House. It was such a relief to know she was safe and so well looked after. Staff were always friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful. Mum settled in very quickly and we instantly knew we'd made the right choice in care facilities.
The home is situated within walking distance of some great shops and a cafe which we were able to utilize enhancing Mum's quality of life. We'd like to thank everyone at Kernow House for the care and compassion shown to both Mum and family we will be eternally grateful.
Reply from Leigh Stanley, General Manager at Barchester Kernow House Care HomeWe thank you for this absolutely wonderful review. Our whole team will be so pleased to have received this feedback. Thank you again.

On arrival at your nursing home i was always made to feel very welcome.
The open kitchen diner was always very homely with guests watching tv, being asked their own choice of breakfast.
The home always felt clean.
The residents are very well looked after and respected for their individuality.
Every
visit was a special one each with their own memories and take my friends mum out in her wheelchair for a coffee.
Reply from Leigh Stanley, General Manager at Barchester Kernow House Care HomeThank you for this lovely feedback. our staff will be over the moon to hear this.

After our Mum moved from another care home in Tavistock to Kernow, I can't tell you the difference of care she received. I went from crying every time I left her to sleeping like a baby knowing she was in such good care. I can't Recommend the nursing home enough, the level of care she received on a
daily basis from the cleaning staff the amazing nurses, and the delicious food. We sadly lost Mum Last week and I can honestly say the compassion shown by every member of staff in the home for Mum's last few days was incredible. There wasn't a moment we weren't checked on looked after, offered tea coffees food nothing was too Much trouble. Mum was always kept so clean and tidy and she loved having her hair and nails done in the beauty parlour. When Mum got really poorly towards the end, they even gave us a hand in the minibus to take her down to Garden centre which was one of her most favourite things to do especially at Christmas with all the decorations. Thank you so much for everything.

Every member of staff have been so engaging and in a most natural way. They are caring, respectful, fun and always attentive to needs without being intrusive.
There's a relaxed atmosphere the staff create to make a genuinely warm comfortable and safe place for everyone.
A variety of activities are
laid on with something to suit everyone. Staff are also creative in ideas to enrich residents time . They take the time to get to know who you are and what makes you happy.
As for cleanliness, everywhere is spotlessly clean all of the time.
I am so grateful to you all for the wonderful support and care and kindness. I can't
recommend you enough.
Thank you all

Falmouth Court is an impresive place and the first one we turn to when respite care is required for my mother. The management have always been exetremly helpfull in trying to accomodate my mother at short notice: The care staff are equally impressive in their comitment to the level of care the provide
every day.

The care that my father is receiving is Kernow House is exceptional. It is a huge weight off my mind knowing that my dad is being so well cared for and is totally safe. The staff treat my father like one of their family and show him so much love and empathy. All his needs are well catered for and he
wants for nothing. From the senior nurses to the cleaners, everybody shows the same passion and respect to the residents.

I cannot praise Kenwyn Care Home highly enough. The level of care and compassion is outstanding and my mum has received excellent care here and continues to do so. The staff go above and beyond and nothing is too much trouble. They also extend such a warm welcome to family too, and the range of enrichment
activities and entertainment is superb. Everyone goes the extra mile. Without exception, all the staff I have met are helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. 5 stars in every category. Highly recommended.

I consider my room and my ensuite as my home, where I can get help when needed, whilst retaining some form of independence, within safety boundaries. Many opportunities are provided for developing or learning new talents and socialising. There is a delightful area in reception where free drinks and
cakes are available for relaxing with friends and family. As in most homes, there is always somewhere to be improved. In my case, my wardrobe is very difficult for me to access as it's built on a slant! Generally, I shouldn't want to move from my home.

My lovely Mum has been a resident in Kernow House for the past 5 years with dementia. She had 24 hour nursing care & my prayers were answered when she became a resident in August 2020. She was peaceful & content, calling the staff "her girls"! Mum was "peacefully & painlessly promoted home" into the
arms of Jesus on Nov 3 2025. I can honestly say that I don't have enough words to thank & praise the staff on Millaton Unit enough for the amazing care, genuine love, respect, compassion, kindness, thoughtfulness & support they showed Mum (& us) in the 5 years & during the last 3 weeks. Mum was treated like family, which has helped us immensely in our loss & healing. The lovely welcoming smiles from the receptionists when we arrive, the support, contact & the genuine care from EVERY member of the staff & management has been OUTSTANDING & always accessableNothing has been too much trouble for them. Thank you, for making my Mums final years, peaceful, content, safe & loved.

My lovely Mum has been at Kenwyn since January 2025. The care she receives is absolutely excellent, and as her needs change the team have done an amazing job of helping her to be calm and comfortable. The variety and freshness of the food has contributed hugely to her feeling well and helped her to
enjoy eating again. Her routine has been adapted to suit her declining health and her comfort is always the priority. The team are always so friendly, professional and deeply caring. Thank you for everything you all do for us.

We had previous experience of Kenwyn as my mother had been there for the last couple of years, passing in April having reached 100. She was always well cared for and the team were lovely. However, it's a very different thing when it's your husband going in for palliative care, but we are so grateful
that this is where he went.
The home itself has a warm, welcoming feel, with spacious corridors, cosy sitting rooms, tea and biscuits always on hand, and lovely gardens to step out into when you need a breath of fresh air.
The team were simply amazing. They couldn't have been kinder - to my husband in his last couple of weeks, and to us as a family in those final days when we camped out with him. They offered food, drinks, and hugs when we needed them, and most importantly gave him the nursing care and support that kept him comfortable and calm, allowing him to pass peacefully and feeling loved. They are a brilliant team with excellent leadership and we genuinely can't thank them enough

My Dad has had several respite stays at Falmouth Court over the last four years. At the end of his most recent visit he made the big decision to ask if he could make his stay permanent. I'm not sure there could be a better recommendation! He jokes that it is like a 5 star hotel. The environment is
beautiful but it's the people that make it a lovely place to live and to visit. Every single person I have come into contact with at FC is wonderful. From the administration and reception team, to the housekeepers, the maintenance team, the chefs and of course the carers there is always a friendly welcome, nothing is too much trouble and there is a real sense that everyone knows and cares about Dad's happiness and wellbeing. From Dad's point of view I believe that he is much more relaxed now that there are people around 24/7, but he feels that he can continue to lead a quiet life with the privacy that he needs, with the option to be sociable when he wants to be. Thank you to all at FC x

It is always a sad ,and potentially scary ,scenario when a loved one needs the special attention of a nursing/care home.
With that being said , I can honestly think of no better place for our dear friend to be .
Kernow is beautifully appointed and offers ,not only the inherent skills of each and
every nurse, but constant attention, comfort and dignity.
We were able to decorate her room to make it feel more familiar , our friend visited often with Sophie, the Golden Retriever and we were able to join her in the dining room.
I really can't find adequate words with which to thank everyone ; from the smiling young woman at reception, to Jackie the O.T manager, Jo who first sat with us on the first fact-finding visit and then on to each and every nurse involved in our friend's care.
What really impresses me , apart from my praises above, is the genuine care and consideration shown to family and friends , all of whom are processing their own fears and anxieties. Thank you . Thank you !!
Reply from Leigh Stanley, General Manager at Barchester Kernow House Care HomeThank you for such a lovely review, we really appreciate such kind words.
