Hi, my name is Catalin and I am the General Manager at Falmouth Court.

I am originally from Romania where I graduated from Generalist Nurse College as a Generalist Nurse and worked as a nurse protecting children with disabilities. I have a passion for supporting care teams and have responsibility for overseeing the resident care at Falmouth Court.

I’ve always been very caring and empathic and interested in how every person can be unique. I am very passionate about high-quality care using my clinical knowledge to develop the carers I lead. I learned during my travelling the importance of contributing to people’s quality of life from residents to my colleagues including the difference quality care can make.

I have also studied Theatre and Arts. Being passionate about the arts I feel lucky to hear and learn about our resident’s stories, which makes them who they are. It’s a privilege to be part of their story. As I like to say, every one of us is a book, and every person you meet is a chance to be a better you.

I’ve worked in the care industry for over 10 years and hold a Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care. Working in care is a role like no other; every day is different, but the joy of helping someone never changes. My passion for care was inspired by my gran, who taught me the true meaning of kindness and respect.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my friends, family, and my dog.

My background in customer service spans roles from Retail Manager to the Employment Support Service, before moving into the care sector - supporting residents, families, and loved ones is where my passion truly lies.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy walking along the Cornish coast and making the most of the beautiful area where I grew up.

Hi, I'm Jonathan, Head Chef at Falmouth Court.

I’m a Cornishman with over 30 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, from apprentice to Head Chef. I’ve worked across restaurants, hotels, and inns, honing my skills and building strong relationships with local artisan suppliers to create the best dishes using the finest ingredients Cornwall has to offer.

Having cared for my uncle and witnessed the impact of quality meals in a care setting, I’m proud to now lead the kitchen team at Falmouth Court, ensuring our residents enjoy nutritious and delicious food every day.

Hi, I'm Cris, Head of Maintenance at Falmouth Court.

Originally from Southeast Asia, I hold degrees in Electronics and Communication Engineering, as well as a master’s degree in Engineering Management and Occupational Safety, Health and Well-being. I’m also an IOSH member.

With hands-on experience as a plumber and electrician, I’m passionate about creating a safe, comfortable environment for residents - ensuring all equipment and facilities are well-maintained to support their daily comfort and well-being.

A Falmouth local, I originally trained as a hairdresser but moved into housekeeping in 2020, working as Head Housekeeper in Independent Living Accommodation in Northampton. I returned to Cornwall because I missed Falmouth!

I take pride in keeping residents' rooms and the home spotless, ensuring a welcoming environment for everyone.

I was born in Africa and then schooled in England. I am married with 2 children. I trained as a beauty therapist, where I lectured and ran my own business. I very much enjoy housekeeping and love making a difference for our residents.

I began my career as a Night Care Assistant, a role I really enjoyed. With 35 years of experience in caring, I’ve learned so much and had the pleasure of meeting many wonderful residents and their families along the way. I’ve recently joined the Housekeeping Team, embracing a new challenge.

In my free time, I enjoy walking, reading, and socialising. I have lived in Falmouth for most of my life.

I was born in Penzance and, after many years away, I’m delighted to be back in Cornwall with my partner, Andy. We’ve recently bought a home here, and I’m loving life by the sea - especially showing my son around when he visits.

I’ve worked in administration for 30 years, and this is my first role in a care home - I absolutely love it! The team and residents have made me feel so welcome.

In my spare time, I enjoy being by the coast, reading, and knitting.

Hi, I’m Rachel, and I am a Senior Night Care Assistant at Falmouth Court.

I’ve worked in care for 12 years and have loved every moment. I’m passionate about supporting our residents and making sure they feel safe and cared for through the night.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family - I have three sons and four grandchildren. I also love walking my white Staffie, Lexi, along the seafront in the summer, and taking my grandchildren out for adventures (especially a bit of shopping with my granddaughter!).

I have been working in the care industry for nearly 11 years. I started off working in community care, but after I had my daughter, I moved into care homes. I have worked in agency care for a number of years, and have worked in both nursing, residential homes and supported living.

When I'm not working, my husband and I will normally be down by the beach or exploring Cornwall with our 2 children and our dog.

Originally from Leicestershire, I’ve lived in Cornwall since 2009, where I trained in nursing. I live with my partner, Patrick, and our little son, Jacob, who keeps me very busy.

My previous roles have included working as a pharmacy dispenser, agency care work, and in a large nursing home. I love working at Falmouth Court - the friendly, welcoming atmosphere made me feel at home straight away.

I’m delighted to be part of the fantastic kitchen team here. Born and raised in Cornwall, I’ve been a chef for 7 years, with experience primarily in classic-style cooking and pub kitchens. Before joining Falmouth Court, I worked my way up to Sous Chef.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing golf and exploring different places to eat across the county, gathering inspiration and ideas to bring to my own cooking.

Over the years, I have gained experience working in local hotels and even in a day care centre, all the while expanding my skills and knowledge. I have found this line of work to be very rewarding, and I am very pleased to have the opportunity to carry this on with Barchester.

In my spare time, I like to go fishing both in the countryside and at sea. I am partial to watching the snooker and a good box set too.

My vast catering experience has taken me from hotel positions to general hospitality, including 22 years at the Falmouth location of Exeter University.

When I am not at work, I enjoy increasing my knowledge of history and geography, reading and tending my garden. My joy comes from my family, especially my 3 granddaughters.

I recently moved to Penryn from London with my husband and one of my daughters. I trained as a hairdresser and have always loved being creative and working with people. I enjoy painting, photography, and organising events for Penryn Camera Club.

I believe everyone is unique, so I enjoy getting to know our residents and creating person-centred activities that suit everyone’s interests.

With over 30 years of hairdressing experience and 7 years working in care homes, Sarah is excited to meet all our residents and provide a wonderful service in our beautiful on-site salon. She loves being a highlight of our residents’ week, giving them the opportunity to have their hair done without having to leave the home.

Alana is a talented Beauty Therapist who has been with us since we opened. She offers a range of wonderful, therapeutic treatments for our residents, including massages, manicures, pedicures, and facials.

With over 14 years’ experience in care settings, Alana loves her work and the difference it makes. She enjoys chatting with residents, listening to them, and helping them feel truly special.

Introducing Matthew from Noah's Ark FootCare Ltd

Matthew is the founder and lead podiatrist at Noah’s Ark FootCare, serving care homes across Cornwall since 2013. He has a special interest in geriatric foot care, helping older adults maintain mobility and comfort.

Matthew runs a clinic in Falmouth on Wednesdays and, along with his team, is excited to provide high-quality foot care to the residents at Falmouth Court.

Hi, I'm Belinda, Activities Lead at Falmouth Court.

My first experience in the care sector was working privately for a local doctor's family member, who needed some support. Later, when my children grew older, I worked in care in the community for a while, which I found very rewarding.

I try to create engaging experiences that spark memories and joy for the residents. Making them smile and encouraging them to continue to live their lives to the fullest, and seeing them continue to enjoy hobbies, or just having a chat with them about their lives, is heart-warming. By working with their families and ask the residents themselves what they would like to help enrich their lives, is my goal.

When I'm not working, I enjoy gardening and walking my dog on the beaches in the winter and in the countryside in the summer.
