My Dad has had several respite stays at Falmouth Court over the last four years. At the end of his most recent visit he made the big decision to ask if he could make his stay permanent. I'm not sure there could be a better recommendation! He jokes that it is like a 5 star hotel. The environment is
beautiful but it's the people that make it a lovely place to live and to visit. Every single person I have come into contact with at FC is wonderful. From the administration and reception team, to the housekeepers, the maintenance team, the chefs and of course the carers there is always a friendly welcome, nothing is too much trouble and there is a real sense that everyone knows and cares about Dad's happiness and wellbeing. From Dad's point of view I believe that he is much more relaxed now that there are people around 24/7, but he feels that he can continue to lead a quiet life with the privacy that he needs, with the option to be sociable when he wants to be. My Aunt has settled in at Falmouth Court over the last few weeks. She was anxious about finding a nice home and mixing with other people. Walking into Falmouth Court was like walking into a 5 star hotel - beautiful decor & furnishings and exceptionally clean, but also the staff have gone above and
beyond to enable my Aunt to firstly come to the home on a respite break (they swiftly organised things so she could come the very next day after we took her to see the home, when they could see she was anxious about having to spend another night on her own in her own house) which then recently rolled into an ongoing residency. The admin manager has been such an incredible help when it came to sorting everything that we needed in place for the permanent residency. I cannot thank the home administrator enough, and the same for the staff generally. My Aunt seems happier & has been enjoying the activities at the home - an absolute joy for myself and our family to see her looking forward to the singers etc.

My sister has been a resident for almost 2 years. During this time, I have been unable to find any fault in her care, accomodation or quality of life. On the contrary, she has thrived and really loves where she lives. I have to book my time with her now as she is so busy!

Well what can i say! what a superb experience like a 5 star hotel! Exceptionally clean and tidy in all areas especially reception area, corridors and our friends room. All the staff we encountered were polite charming and courteous. Our friend is so lucky too be in such a pleasant safe environment.
It is a shame that not all care homes are up to this very high standard. Thank you and keep up all the good work.

Mum was very happy at Falmouth Court for her two weeks respite. She was well looked after by the attentive and caring staff who went above and beyond to make sure her stay went well, which it did. Mum had a very positive experience on what was her first time in a care home.

I visited this care home while on holiday, as my aunty is staying there , and I was genuinely impressed. The moment I walked in, it felt more like a hotel than a care home - everything was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and had a really warm, welcoming atmosphere.
The staff were incredibly
attentive and friendly. I even had the pleasure of meeting the manager, who made us feel so welcome and kindly offered us hot drinks and delicious cakes. On the way to see my aunty, we passed through a lounge where a singer was performing - the residents were dancing and clearly having a great time. It was so lovely to see!
We later sat in the garden to enjoy our coffee, and it was absolutely beautiful - peaceful, well-maintained.
My aunty couldn't stop talking about how happy she is there and how well she's looked after.
Overall, I left with such peace of mind .This place really goes above and beyond. Well done and thank you

Falmouth Court home is a first class establishment looking after those that require help in their later years. The staff are caring and yet very professional in carrying out their duties. I cannot fault the home and I'm pleased my Mother has a placement there, being safe , looked after, and cared
for. The staff management, team are also very professional and have a total understanding of their roll, helping and managing both family members of patients and staff looking after the patients.

Thank you for the wonderful care you provided for our mother. After her operation, she was very much in need of respite care - and Falmouth Court Care Home was exactly what she was looking for.
She had the peace and the kindness to rest and recover. The care team looked after her very well and everyone
was extremely attentive. The food was excellent. We also very much enjoyed the hospitality of the fine dining service.
Thank you also for the way in which you responded to our initial enquiry - and the promptness with which you handled all our questions and issued the contract. It was always incredibly helpful and prompt.
We will certainly use your services again in future if we need further respite care at any stage.

Falmouth Court is a welcoming friendly elegant place for my mother to return too .
The care staff and team are so supportive and genuinely caring, this is mums 3rd visit for respite. She's considering in the future this may become her home .
The separate floor dinning rooms so many choices of delicious
food, and spacious so clean rooms makes it feel as if it's more like a luxury hotel.
The staff support 24 hours if needed is a huge relief to my role as a daughter relax and know she in such safe hands .
I would thoroughly recommend this care home in my opinion having personally visited so many, this home stands out as the best one in Cornwall

My aunt has been resident at Falmouth Court for the past 18 months. She is very happy there. The activities programme is superb and keeps my aunt very busy, stimulated and interested. She absolutely loves the food but most of all she loves all the carers who treat her with care, compassion and respect.

As a family member if I ever have any concerns I can talk to any member of staff who are always interested and helpful. The management team of Haley and Catalin are also excellent together with Deborah in the office who is always happy to help and advise. I would not hesitate to recommend Falmouth Court.

I have been a permanent resident in this home for over one year and am very happy with the care that I receive. I don't think I would find anywhere better.
I would recommend to anyone thinking of making Barchester Falmouth Court Care Home their home that they spend a couple of weeks in respite care
first so that they know what to expect.
Unfortunately, the advertising gives a somewhat exaggerated impression of the home which can lead to newcomers feeling unnecessarily disappointed and frustrated.

This has been a good, positive experience.
Food excellent but to eat my last meal of the day at 5pm is difficult.
The activities were interesting and varied and well taken up.
The worst thing were your pillows. There were three provided, the size of sofa cushions! If everyone used those the NHS would
have unlimited neck problems. I asked for alternatives, none were available.
The staff were polite and willing.

This is a well-designed, relatively new care home with lovely, modern décor and which seems to successfully meet the broad requirements of the elderly cohort. It was unfortunate that after two face-to-face meetings with the management team, the requirement for a double bed couldn't be achieved and as
this wasn't made apparent until arrival, there was no real option other than to proceed. Nevertheless, the front of house and care staff did all they could to meet Mum's other requirements, including a trip out to her favourite hotel for cream teas. Our mum certainly enjoyed herself and the staff went out of their way to ensure she felt welcome and to smoothly integrate her for the two weeks of respite care. There was a good range of activities that are focused on the broad range of clients and as the residents were consistently very friendly and content, this was definitely a good sign of an outwardly well-run and happy care home.

We arranged for respite care for my father-in-law from 20/12/2023 to 12/01/2024. He decided he would like to extend his stay and become permanent.
The management and staff have been fantastic with him, his mobility has increased, his appetite and also his nutrition and hydration and his interaction
with people.

Mum had recently had a hospital stay and I had come over from Spain for 2 weeks to look after her. However, I needed to return for 2 weeks for work. She needed a placement with 24-hour care and support and Falmouth Court was suggested to me as a respite option.
From the initial telephone conversation,
the show around and the home visit I knew Falmouth Court would be able to offer her and me the exact respite service we required.
The home is stunning. Beautifully stylish with large, warm and comfortable rooms. The communal areas were calm, with appropriate music just audible in the background. The managers and staff were polite, kind, caring, efficient and knowledgeable.
Mum loved the food which was plentiful and varied and catered for all tastes and dietary needs. She particularly loved the cakes.
I am now considering moving back to the U.K. for the longer term to look after Mum and hope she can stay again for a further respite stay to allow me to put this into motion.

Hi, my name is Catalin and I am the General Manager at Falmouth Court.


I am originally from Romania where I graduated from Generalist Nurse College as a Generalist Nurse and worked as a nurse protecting children with disabilities. I have a passion for supporting care teams and have responsibility for overseeing the resident care at Falmouth Court.


I’ve always been very caring and empathic and interested in how every person can be unique. I am very passionate about high-quality care using my clinical knowledge to develop the carers I lead. I learned during my travelling the importance of contributing to people’s quality of life from residents to my colleagues including the difference quality care can make.

A 49-year-old Cornishman, born & bred has worked in the hospitality industry for 33 years. Married my beautiful wife and am lucky to be a dad to three wonderful children.


I started out as an apprentice at the tender age of 16 in an intimate  50  cover restaurant in Lostwithiel, where I was taught the skills required, including baking, butchery, and desserts to name but a few.


Over the next 30 years, I progressed into Hotel Kitchen Management, new start-up restaurants and traditional Inn’s honing my skills using local Artisan businesses and forging long-standing relationships with these suppliers, utilising the best ingredients the county can provide.


I was fortunate enough to become a Head Chef at the age of 22 and have since led and developed various teams throughout my career. There is no better achievement than that of seeing a young apprentice develop and grow into the next generation of Head chefs.


Sadly losing both my parents recently and then caring for my uncle who has now entered a care home setting, I witnessed first-hand the importance of a quality food offering and the effect this had on him. This personal example spurred me on to pursue the next chapter of my working life and led me to employment at Falmouth Court as Head Chef, leading the professional team to produce the highest standards of food for our residents.

Originally from Southeast Asia, where I finished my Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communication Engineering/Explored more with my expertise in Mechanical Engineering particularly in Hydraulic Engineering. During my time here, I worked for Bosch as a Hydraulic Engineer for 8 years, where I was also assigned as a Safety Engineer at the same time.


Gaining these qualities and skills led me here in the UK where I finished two master's degrees in Engineering Management (MSc) and Occupational Safety Health and Well-being (MSc). With this, I am also an IOSH member. During my master's, I was able to be trained as a plumber and electrician. During these past few years, I worked as a maintenance assistant, then became a maintenance manager in one of the 4-star hotels in the UK.


My expertise allows me to create a safe, comfortable environment for everyone. By maintaining equipment and facilities, I will gladly reduce the risk of accidents to ensure everyone's safety. My hands-on experience enables me to understand the unique needs of the residents, allowing me to make modifications or repairs that enhance their daily lives, whether it involves adjusting lighting for better visibility or ensuring comfortable temperature control.

My name is Karen Burton, I moved down to Penryn from London in July 2019, with my husband and one of two daughters. My Husband was born in Falmouth so we brought him back home. Introducing Matthew from Noah's Ark FootCare Ltd


Matthew Leighton-Sa’id is the Leading Podiatrist and founder of Noah’s Ark Footcare. He qualified at Plymouth University in 2012 obtaining his degree with honours and founded Noah’s Ark Footcare in 2013.


As well as visiting homes himself, Matthew has a team of podiatrists who visit care homes in Cornwall and beyond who aim to achieve the same high standards of treatment and live by the same values as him.


Noah’s Ark Foot Care have served over 70 care homes since 2013 providing fantastic foot care to thousands of people during this time. Matthew and his team love what they do but Matthew’s special interest is in geriatric foot care.


Geriatric foot care services differ from regular foot care services as older people’s feet simply have more wear and tear, which means they are more susceptible to injury and even deformity. These age-related foot problems can lead to people experiencing pain and potentially cause a person to lose some of their mobility.


Matthew is passionate about providing excellent foot care to adults and runs a podiatry clinic on Kimberly Park Road in Falmouth every Wednesday so that he can provide the same high quality foot care to other adults which care home residents receive. He lives in West Cornwall and has 7 wonderful children who take up a lot of his spare time (but he wouldn’t have it any other way!).
