This is the fourth home mum has been a resident in and the best. Mum's behaviour has been challenging and she has nursing needs. The staff have been very professional and caring both to mum and to me.

All the staff were so caring and vigilant to the residents' safety and well being. Despite the resident feeling that they did not require care, even though they did, they were very supportive. They were also very supportive to me, who has had to deal with various situations relating to the well-being
and safety of the resident.

When my dad first came into the home I was anxious and unsure as to how he would settle. It soon became very clear that he was well cared for and treated with kindness and respect. My worries were misplaced. The home is calm and the staff are kind although at times I believe they are understaffed and
this could be addressed by management. The entertainment is considered and the music/activities put on for the residents is excellent as too are the menu choices. My dad is happy here.

I very highly recommend Kenwyn - the care that my lovely Mum is receiving is absolutely excellent. Huge thanks to all the staff for making her stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible in difficult circumstances. There is an air of calm throughout Kenwyn and residents are clearly content and happy.
I'm always made to feel entirely welcome and all our questions and concerns are addressed efficiently and professionally. You're an amazing team with excellent leadership - fantastic.

Our family member has been at Barchester Kenwyn Care Home for nearly 2 years. The facilities and decor are akin to a 5-star hotel. The dining room and menu choices are first class and delicious in variety and taste. The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. Above all the service and care from
the hugely dedicated care team for the residents is second to none. The compassion and dignity they exude with every interaction is wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble, every day they go above and beyond to ensure the residents every need is met. They do it with warmth, a smile and friendly conversation. They are nothing short of amazing. Special recognition needs to go to one in particular member of staff, she is an angel in every respect and has helped make our relative as happy as she is there.

Worked very closely with the head of unit, who quickly ascertained my mother's situation, needs and indeed, future needs. Additionally, my mother had been suffering from financial abuse and other safeguarding issues. The head of unit was able to ensure measures were put in place to protect my mother.
The environment, care, attention and dedication of the team have actually seen an overall improvement in my mother, who has become more engaging and doing the activities she enjoys. Further, I would like to commend the entire team who work under difficult and emotional situations and yet remain super pleasant and always with a smile, warm and friendly greetings. Thank you.

We realised very quickly that the residents are treated with care and compassion but most importantly, treated with dignity. The staff make the time to know the residents so are all treated as individuals and get to know their likes and dislikes, their history and family so that the resident feels like
they are with friends.
Memory lane is secure, so, as family, we know Mum is not able to wander off. Food is excellent, activities are every day and varied and looking out into the gardens gives a lot of pleasure.

Mum, who has dementia, has been at Kenwyn for a couple of years now. The staff work tirelessly to care for all the residents and meet their individual needs. I am always met with a smile and I find they listen to suggestions and act on them when they can. I have been kept well informed of any changes
in mum's health and my consent is always asked for when changes are needed. The staff are continually looking for ways to engage with the residents and keep them as happy as possible.

I approached the home to enquire about a two-week respite stay, post-operative convalescence and care, for my mother-in-law. From start to finish, we were all treated with care, compassion and dignity. My mother-in-law was very well cared for and even said she would come back again - this is a real

Haley Reeve-Larson

Job Title: General Manager Joined: 2021

Hello and welcome, I am Haley Reeve-Larson, and I am the General Manager here at Kenwyn Care Home


With over a decade’s worth of experience in health and social care, I am a passionate registered manager with a wealth of knowledge including managing nursing, residential and community care. I have extensive knowledge in supporting residents with a dementia to live well and have a passion for encouraging dementia friendly support within our local community. As a dementia champion and dementia care mapper with the University of Bradford I am competent in supporting colleagues to understand quality care for those living with a dementia.


Majority of my career has been working in Cornwall with the local community and healthcare professionals and therefore have a solid understanding of how best to support our local residents.


I have a very active role in the lives of all residents, ensuring resident-centred care is delivered by every member of staff to a high standard. My passion for quality care is fuelled by my own personal experiences of placing loves ones in the hands of care teams. I feel my own experiences have moulded me into the manager I am today and take pride in my ability to support residents, families and friends to make informed choices about the care options available to them including how to live as independently for as long as possible.

Adelina has been a valued member of the Kenwyn team since 2018.


Extremely skilled in her field, Adelina is the Deputy Manager at Kenwyn and has previously been a Unit Manager for our Tresco Community.


Adelina is loved by residents, relatives and staff and works incredibly hard. Her passion for her work and residents stands out.


Adelina has been a nurse for more than 10 years. She chose Barchester due to its reputation for Person-Centred Care.

Job Title: Head of Pencarrow Community Joined: 2005

Ela has been a valued member of the Kenwyn team for 20 years. Her dedication to building strong relationships with residents and their families ensures everyone feels truly at home. Ela is passionate about providing the highest standard of care and creating a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel supported and cherished.


Outside of work, Ela loves exploring the UK in her favourite adventure so far has been travelling the iconic Scotland NC500 route. When she's not on the road, Ela enjoys realxing with a good movie.

Holly Rimmer

Job Title: Head of Housekeeping and Speak up Champion Joined: 2018

Hollyjoined Kenwyn in 2018 as a carer, bringing dedication and compassion to her rols. Over the years, her commitment to excellence and her natural leadership skills have seen her progress to head of House Keeping. Holly leads her team with the same care and attention to detail she has always shown, ensuring Kenwyn remains a welcoming and comfortable home for all.


Holly is also Kenwyn's Speak Up Champion and says:
'As speak up champion for the home I act as a voice for colleagues to express their ideas, develop new ways of working and a pathway for them to report concerns. I regularly meet with the manager to discuss the running of the home from the colleagues’ perspective and am grateful that my colleagues feel able to trust me to speak to them.'

Mercy is an amazing Senior Carer and has done some amazing work both on our Glendurgan and Pencarrow unit!

Martin

Martin Williams

Job Title: Gardener Joined: 2020

Martin first joined Kenwyn in a Housekeeping role, although his ambition was always to become Kenwyn's Gardener.


This year his dream came true and Martin took his longed-for role. Martin absolutely loves his work and it is clear for all to see. 


Kenwyn's gardens are truly a hidden gem and an extension of the luxury Kenwyn offers. He has a lot to keep on top of, but with his passion for his role and Kenwyn, he continues to do a fantastic job.
