Edingley Lodge is a home from home beautiful place and I can see why people feel like they're part of the Edingley Lodge 'family' when they are there. The staff are all amazing and they genuinely really care about all the residents, nothing is too much trouble and the care is second to none. Even as a visitor, the staff are so helpful, lovely and friendly.

Both the staff and residents made my dad feel so welcome during his 12 week respite stay. He settled in straight away and has made lots of friends so when it was time to go home, he didn't want to leave! For now, he's decided to come back every couple of months for a week's respite 'holiday' which really says it all.

The home is beautifully furnished, the food is fantastic and there are lots of varied activities and trips for the residents. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Edingley Lodge and in fact when people have asked me how dad and us found it, I often say 'I wish I could go and stay there!'.

My review is not about the team here but the fact that they are having to use 1 hoist for 2 floors because the one that ground floor was using broke and was written off. This was in march. I a wheelchair user cannot use the latest 2025 mini bus because the lap straps aren't long enough to strap me in meaning I cannot go to a garden centre.

We recently attended a wonderful event, namely the pre wedding ceremony for Rebecca & Bradley.

The aim was to enable Rebecca's dad, Darren, who is a well established resident, to have the opportunity to give his wonderful daughter away.

The event was meticulously organised by the manager and staff of Forest Care Centre, Barchester, with care, compassion and commitment.

We had a fantastic day, meeting friends, family, staff and residents alike.

Darren looked amazing in his military uniform displaying the medals he so rightly earned during his 22+ years of military service for his country.

This care home provides unparalleled support to all of it's residents and should be rightly proud of their continued achievements.

My wife has been in Forest Care almost 3 years, and it is absolutely brilliant! The manager and staff are incredible and look after the families aswell as the residents. Everyone is super friendly and helpful, and my wife's care is second to none. I'm so pleased we found this place for her complex dementia care needs. xxx

Clean comfortable care home nice staff, friendly and helpful.

My mum went in for two weeks respite care. The staff were very friendly and helpful and mum was well looked after. My mum has moderate/advanced dementia and cannot communicate in her own language to the staff. They made the effort to translate common questions and answers into my mum's native language, printed them and laminated the sheets to help communicate with mum. I really appreciated that. They can improve communication further by using picture cards for residents with communication problems.

We were a little anxious - my mum has always been resistant to the idea of needing any care. Thankfully the staff were so respectful, warm and accommodating that she settled in quickly and easily. Thank you Hall Park, we will definitely come back again for more respite care very soon.

Mam (Winifred) moved in to Forest Hill from Westwood area 3 weeks ago, as her needs could no longer be met. Visited for the first time on 3rd July. My immediate impression were "this is a loving caring place." The staff I met were warm, accommodating and all knew my mam so well in a short space of time, The cleaning staff, must work very hard too. There is not the usual 'smell' we've experienced at other homes. A great effort and well done to all the Forest Hill team. :)

I would strongly recommend the home for any family members.

My mother-in-law is living a beautiful life with up to 4 daily activities including trips out, singing, art, talks, music, visits from animals and children. The list of activities is absolutely endless and the activity leaders are so encouraging and caring. At home her dementia meant a cycle of little to entertain and engage her but at Lancaster Grange she is truly living a new and enlivened life. She enjoys the dining experience, has made many friends and her well-being has improved a thousand fold.

He enjoyed the food, activities and all the staff were very kind.

My husband was in Forest hill only for a few months at the end oflast year 2025. I had looked at several nursing homes and felt deflated and underwhelmed. Forest hill was the last place that I visited and I was blown away by the difference, the time spent showing me around on my visit all of my questions were answered honestly and accurately. My husband had advanced dementia and his needs were complex. I felt that certain members of staff had an excellent understanding of my husband's needs and within a relatively short space of time he settled, changes in medication and the way he was treated improved him immensely. I visited every day and spent hours with him and found most of the staff to be very professional but also friendly I can honestly say they became like our second family and I cannot thank them enough for making my husband's last months as comfortable and pleasant as possible and for the I was supported from day 1. THANK YOU

One of the things that particularly stands out is the wide range of activities on offer. There is always something happening, whether it's entertainment, crafts, social events or opportunities for residents to stay active and involved.

The food is excellent, the activities diverse and interesting, the other residents are welcoming, and the care second to none. The only problem is finding the right time to visit her because she doesn't want to miss a thing!

I would not let my dad go anywhere else.
