Mam (Winifred) moved in to Forest Hill from Westwood area 3 weeks ago, as her needs could no longer be met. Visited for the first time on 3rd July. My immediate impression were "this is a loving caring place." The staff I met were warm, accommodating and all knew my mam so well in a short space of time, The cleaning staff, must work very hard too. There is not the usual 'smell' we've experienced at other homes. A great effort and well done to all the Forest Hill team. :)
Thank you for your comments and we are pleased that this has been your experience of visiting us. Your mum has already become a firm favourite with many. I will be pleased to pass your comments on to the team.
My husband was in Forest hill only for a few months at the end oflast year 2025. I had looked at several nursing homes and felt deflated and underwhelmed. Forest hill was the last place that I visited and I was blown away by the difference, the time spent showing me around on my visit all of my questions were answered honestly and accurately. My husband had advanced dementia and his needs were complex. I felt that certain members of staff had an excellent understanding of my husband's needs and within a relatively short space of time he settled, changes in medication and the way he was treated improved him immensely. I visited every day and spent hours with him and found most of the staff to be very professional but also friendly I can honestly say they became like our second family and I cannot thank them enough for making my husband's last months as comfortable and pleasant as possible and for the I was supported from day 1. THANK YOU
Thank you so much for your kind review, I'm so pleased that we made your husband's last few months as enjoyable an experience as possible for you both. I will be sure to pass your comments onto the team.
Martin is cared for so well.

Big Thank you :)

It has been a relief for my grandma to be here where her care needs appear more suitably met. The carers are friendly & they have appeared to strive to provide positive experiences.

My mum came here following a stay in hospital. She came from another care home. It's not until you are out of a different home you see just how brilliant Forest Hill is from the bottom to the top. The care is another level. Mum is happy, settled and a lot calmer.
Thank you for your comments, I will be sure to pass them onto the team
From being welcomed by the admin staff to view the home the assessment by the general manager, and preparing a room for mum to move into, the whole process was made easier by the care, compassion and helpful assistance by all the staff. Since mum moved in, everyone from the chef, handyman, housekeeping (special mention) to nurses & carers she has been made to feel safe and comfortable. All the staff show a high level of experience with dementia care - and have great pride in the work - well done!
Thank you so much for your comments, I will be sure to share them with the team.

All the team within the home are fantastic. My mum has come on leaps and bounds since becoming a resident. She enjoys all the activities that are held both on site and also the visits out. Mum recently went out to a farm. The carers sent me a video of my mum having a cuppa and a scone. The smile from my mum said it all. Highly recommended.
Thank you so much for your comments, I will be sure to pass these to the team.
As a family we are so happy with the care mum is receiving.
All the staff from admin, reception, manager, carers, nurses and the catering manager have ensured mum is welcomed and look after fantastically. The activities team are brilliant and mum has even but out on a trip. Communication between the team appears excellent.

Fab staff, they cant do enough for the residents and family members. The food choices and standards are excellent. The units are always clean to a high standard, if you require anything for the bedrooms they sort it, from heaters to putting up pictures. The grounds are well kept with enclosed garden areas. There is lots of daily activities, BBQ's, Christmas Fayres, live music, hair salon, foot care.

The carers at Forest Hill range from the very good to the excellent and there are many of these! There is a real family atmosphere here with all staff - domestic, kitchen, maintenance, reception etc. contributing. One-to-one relationships with all residents are both genuine and realistic. Within their busy schedules all staff, find time for residents and family/visitors. My wife loves the food and really enjoys the regular animal visits. Forest Hill is now her home. P.S. Of the many excellent carers some are outstanding.
Thank you so much for your kind comments - I will be sure to pass these onto the team.
I am so happy my mum is being cared for at this home. The staff are lovely, patient and friendly. The food is amazing with lots of variety. The rooms are clean and fresh. They have fun days, activities and entertainment. My mum is content and in excellent care.
Thank you for your review L, I will be sure to pass on your comments to the team.
Every time I have visited my great auntie she appears to be well cared for. She's taking part in more activities than she did in her previous care home. It's nice to be able to visit her in a nice environment where we all feel comfortable.
Thank you for your comments, I will be sure to pass them on to the team.
My mother-in-law, who has Alzheimer's, has been a resident for two years now and we are extremely happy with the care offered. The staff are very professional and will work with you if you have any ideas to help the residents live a comfortable safe life. The nursing home doesn't smell of that usual nursing home smell that normally blows your head off like you would see in different establishments in the Worksop area. We took time looking around different nursing homes but instantly fell in love with Barchester Forest Hill Care Home! We based our decisions on would we live here if we had to and it was a massive yes. We can definitely relax at home knowing our family member is safe and well cared for.
Thank you for your comments which I will gladly share with the team.
My mum has been a resident here for quite a while now, she is very well cared for. The staff are lovely, the food is amazing, they seem to have lots of activities for the residents and go on trips out when possible. I don't think we could find a better place for Mum to be cared for.
Thank you so much for your comments, I will ensure to pass them on to the team.
Everywhere is constantly cleaned, clothing is washed daily. The meals are cooked on the premises and are tasty and nutritional. The nurses and carers are very good and they interact with the patients in a lovely way. The activities are varied and so, something will appeal to everyone. The two maintenance guys keep everything working and the gardens and interior looking great.
The home is decorated beautifully for Christmas.
My dad and I looked after my mum at home for as long as we could. Now we can visit and still look after her but all the help we need is on hand immediately and that is such a relief. Thank you to all.
Thank you for your comments, I will be sure to pass them onto the staff team.
My father spent 4 weeks at Forest Hill Care Home before he died. As a nurse, it is difficult to hand over the care of someone you love to others, but I can honestly say I felt confident and happy with the care and attention he received.
Thank you for your comments, I will be sure to pass them on to the staff team.
The home is always extremely clean, the staff are very helpful and polite.
Thank you for your comments, I will ensure I pass this on to the whole team.
