Farley Gardens has been excellent at looking after my mum. Her overall health has improved; she has put on weight (much needed) and is now more mobile and stronger overall. We are really pleased with the care and attention you have given her. Thank you.
Unfortunately there needs to be some more residents
to give more life to the home and to ensure that activities take place. Maybe consider dropping the price?

I had a nice welcome but the overall experience was disappointing. I sometimes had to wait an hour after ordering breakfast for it to arrive. The evening meal was VERY small & cooked pastry really hard. The staff on the whole were kind & caring. The laundry service seemed a shambles. It would have been
nice to have been taken outside in the garden.

Our father entered stoneham grove in July of this year. the staff and management team were warm and welcoming from the very start, including when my sister & I were first searching for a home. Unfortunately, due to the breakdown in our father's marriage we had to remove him so we could stave the flow
of his finances until we sort out the issues. He enjoyed his stat considerably and we would only consider stoneham if he needs to go back into a home. Thank you

Barchester Stoneham Grove Care Home

Overall Experience 2.0 out of 5
Although this is a beautiful home in excellent surroundings, the overall care is deplorable. After waiting over 5 minutes to be let in and finding my friend had hardly any of his clothes returned from the wash my estimation of this home went decidedly downhill.
There is a serious shortage of care
staff for the amount of residents and the staff who do work there are overworked to the limit.
The activities person Luliana is brilliant but so stressed with lack of help especially with bringing the residents to the room of activities when there is a member of staff off sick or on holiday. For the amount of money the residents pay to live here surely it would be beneficial to bring in 'bank staff' at those times of staff shortage.
The chef is excellent. The manager I find really unhelpful and rude.

My Partner was sent to Austen House after being in hospital for four weeks, where he lost over nine kilos in weight. He was a very poorly chap. He was suffering from late stage dementia. His care in Austen House was exceptional, they were so kind and attentive even though his behaviour at times could
be challenging but he settled really well and I believe his behaviour improved. He couldn't really communicate but he did tell me he was happy on two separate occasions. I felt less stressed knowing he was safe, well cared for and happy. He started to put weight on and he was eating well. The food was very good with plenty of choices, my partner did have problems feeding himself but there was finger food available as well as two three course meals twice a day. His room was light and airy and comfortable. The staff were lovely, they kept me informed of any medical problems. Sadly he was only there for seven weeks before he passed away but I am pleased he was so well cared for until the end.

My parents stayed at Farley Gardens for 3 weeks of respite following Mums hand surgery that incapacitated her. The facilities, decor and overall feel of the home were luxurious but homely. They were allocated a double suite so that they could remain together.
The staff were so attentive ensuring that
Mum and Dad were assisted with all of their personal needs. Mum particularly enjoyed the wide range of activities and entertainment offered and it was lovely to see the staff encouraging and helping Dad who has Alzheimer's to participate. Myself and my sisters were made to feel so welcome whenever we visited and it was lovely to see both our parents smiling and happy. Every member of the staff from Management, administration, caring, support, hospitality, kitchen and housekeeping took time to get to know them (and us) and ensure their needs and comfort were met. The food was excellent.
The overall experience was fantastic and they will definitely visit again for future respite breaks.

Dad has stayed at Austen House twice before and been very well looked after. This time we needed emergency respite care as mum had a fall and was in hospital. This is not our first respite care and we have always been impressed by West Oak care.
I wish to say that the nursing care remains excellent. I could not have wanted better attention from the nurses who had much to deal with. Staff as always, friendly and attentive.
However this time the cleaning
of the bathroom was poor and, worse, an infection on A's big toe, clearly visible, was not noticed for at least three days so I do not feel his personal care was sufficiently well done.

My father-in-law has been living at Farley Gardens since it opened, and honestly, they've been amazing. The staff are so friendly and welcoming-it's got a really lovely, family feel to it. Every time we visit, we're made to feel right at home.
The grandkids love going to see Grandad (and the cake is
always a bonus!). What I really appreciate is how personalised the care is. They've taken the time to get to know him properly, and he's not just being looked after-he actually feels useful and valued, which is so important.
Huge thank you to everyone there for making it such a positive place. I recommend Farley Gardens to anyone looking for somewhere that truly cares.

When I first began looking for a care home for my Mum, I didn't think I would find one that would meet all of my expectations. Three months later Mum is at this idyllic beautiful care home, resembling a five star hotel. Every single member of staff here goes above and beyond to look after Mum's every
need. Mum's friends are able to come here for coffee and cake in these beautiful grounds. There is a weekly activity sheet where you can easily find something for everyone, myself included. The food is excellent and always looks extremely appetising, and if Mum wants something simple, nothing is too much trouble. When you walk into Stoneham Grove you are met with a really warm and friendly atmosphere. Residents laughing, chatting and having coffee together without a care in the world. I can then leave knowing Mum is being well looked after by this wonderful hardworking team that treat her like family. They even encourage me to bring my scallywag of a dog.

My sister came to west oak during Covid in 2020.
Visiting could have been difficult, but the staff were amazing accommodating loved ones in a safe way.
The staff here are wonderful, very caring and friendly, in fact they are like family.
My sister was previously in a new care home which cosmetically
was lovely but the care wasn't there for her. Peace of mind is a great feeling, and knowing she is in good hands, gives me that feeling.

My dad moved to Stoneham Grove after nearly 3 years in another care home. He's now nearer to us which makes visiting much easier. He has dementia which is worsening.
The pre, during and after care and attention has been excellent. Staff genuinely care about each individual there, encouraging and supporting
them in their daily living. Dad is stimulated by lots of the activities, and very comfortable in a luxurious room with its own patio. If I ever need to speak to the staff, they are always available to listen. They have ensured that Dad's transition from one home to another went smoothly and very well. Stoneham Grove cares about relatives as well as residents. I am very happy that my dad lives in such a lovely environment, with lovely people.

After a fall which resulted in broken bones in both legs, my mother was not able to return home.
The staff at Stoneham Grove went to great lengths to expedite her assessment and arrival at the home.
All the staff were excellent and really cared for mum and ensured that her every need was met.
