Austen House has a lovely feel to it, the staff are caring and very friendly. Mum is struggling settling in as sadly we lost my dad earlier this year and she has spent a lot of this year in hospital with health issues. Having to adapt to a new home is hard for her, but the staff are very helpful and caring and understanding. As her daughter I am happy knowing she is in a safe and caring environment and the fact I can visit her regularly is an added bonus. The food is amazing.

My experience was excellant, All the staff were kind and helpful and it was good to be able to talk to the other people.

Mum was quite anxious when she arrived at Farley Gardens, but the staff were very welcoming and made her feel comfortable & relaxed. It took a number of weeks for Mum to settle in completely, the staff paid mum the right amount of attention to help her settle. Regular visits from my sister and myself also helped with her settling. The activity program is varied + interesting for everyone. The food is of a high quality, varied and a good portion size too. The cake in the Coffee area is always good too and changes daily. Mum room is a perfect size, clean & comfortable. Overall I am very pleased with FG care home, it displays high standards in all aspects of care for the Elderly. Mum has certainly made friends at FG and enjoys everything that is available. I would not hesitate recommend FG to anyone who is looking for a happy comfortable home for a loved one.

The management & admin staff were unfailingly courteous, informed & quick to help, which made an incredibly difficult time so much easier to navigate. This is a home that cares - about the people in it & the families who love them, I will be forever grateful for the compassion, professionalism & humanity shown to Mum (& us) in her final weeks.

First time visiting friend, staff very welcoming and friendly. Very clean and homely. Lunch was very nice, Chef came out to introduce himself, which was lovely. Outside facilitys very pleasant. Overall very impressed.

Staff were always very helpful making my one week stay a pleasure!

The foyer is our favourite chatting spot. We have a cuppa with anyone who walks by. Yvette seems very happy here. Thank you to the cake provider!

My Mum has been at Austen House for over 2 years for dementia care. We're very happy with the care she receives.

Many staff have been here for a long time, the residents know them well and they always have a smile and a kind word for the residents and families.

The nursing staff are absolutely wonderful, it's been such a weight off our shoulders to know Mum is receiving great nursing care, including regular visits from the local GP surgery.

Communication is generally very good. There are a wide range of activities for the residents and their families.

We're so glad we found Austen House, we definitely recommend it.

Stoneham Grove is like no other care home I've visited, it's more like a five star hotel. The building is beautiful with lovely decor it's clean, tidy and welcoming. All of the staff I've encountered are really nice, caring, attentive and genuinely seem happy in their work, even when they're busy they always seem to make time for residents and their families. The carers are so kind, caring and patient with my parents who regard them as extended family. There are lots of activities on offer and the coordinator works hard to include those who would like to participate in things such as chair exercise, yoga, crafts and a particular favourite is the visit from the local preschool who entertain the residents very well. Day trips to a museum, the seaside and a pub are just some of the trips that have been organised in the time my parents have lived at Stoneham Grove. The food is home cooked and very good. It's a pleasure to visit, we see more of my parents than ever before!

My daughter was the emergency contact while I was away but it was respite for her too. The home called her three times in one week regarding non urgent reasons so not as good respite for her.

Our Mother went into West Oak in July 2020, for residential dementia care. She died there on 21 May 2026. In that time, incl during Covid visiting restrictions, she was looked after with kindness, empathy & skill. The nursing staff & carers provide exemplary care & professionalism. We have always been especially grateful that the main dementia nursing team have remained the same for almost the whole of Mum's stay, which has meant they knew her and her needs so very well. Also the lead carers are long term, Mum was on affectionate terms with most of them. During the short period of decline leading up to her death everyone at West Oak provided care & support to Mum & us, her daughters, with diligence & genuine thoughtfulness for what was ahead. We are most grateful that at the end, Mum's nurse & carer were people she knew well & trusted. We were all in safe hands. Every member of the wider team is approachable & helpful. I think West Oak understands that staff are the most crucial thing.

Always a very warm & friendly welcome. Staff can't do enough for you. We found our mum to be well looked after during her respite care. Will definitely use Farley Gardens again if respite is required. Mum had many visitors while she was there, who were all treated as if they were part of the community family. Cannot think of anything negative.

Our late Mum, who was suffering from Dementia, received excellent service from all the staff at West Oak. She was well cared for for over 2 years, with understanding on behalf of the nurses and carers. If we needed to be informed of any changes to Mum's condition they did so. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

My wife is a guest for respite. She has Alzheimers. Mobility bad Speaking - only a few words at a time. She had spent time last year for respite last July so was known by a lot of staff. All staff are professional and kind, fully understanding her needs and wants she is happy so no tears when I visit or leave. She is encouraged to partake in activities and loves to go outside. My dealings with CEO and Secretary are professional friendly and understanding
