Mum has been a resident since December. We have nothing but praise for the care and support all members of the Shawford Springs team give to her on a daily basis. The quality of care is outstanding. The team ensure that all Mum's needs are met.
Nothing is too much for them. All of Mum's visitors are
very envious of her.
Thank you for everything.
Reply from Cassie Munnoch, General Manager at Barchester Shawford Springs Care HomeThank you for taking time to share your comments, were delighted Mum has settled so well and you feel that she is well cared for. We will ensure the feedback is shared with our whole team at the home.

After a three week stay in hospital following a fall which resulted in a broken ankle, I needed a care home where I could receive proactive respite care. Before returning to my home in Birmingham.
My daughter visited Barchester Bere Grove and was impressed with the facilities offered.
I moved in for
a two week stay and was immediately impressed by the warm welcome and subsequent discreet but firm encouragement to get back to nearer normality. This has had the desired effect and I would be more that happy to recommend this establishment.
Reply from Rachel Hinett, Home Services Advisor at Barchester Bere GroveThank you for the positive feedback, it's always a real boost for the staff to know their hard work dedication and commitment is valued. It was a real pleasure to look after you and to see you get you back on your feet ready for your return home. We all really enjoyed your conversations as well as getting to know your daughter and granddaughter. You would be very welcome to visit us for tea and cake when you are next in the area.

Marnel Lodge has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. All the staff, from manager down to the housekeeping Team, are polite and courteous and know their residents well. The lodge is well maintained and clean with plenty of communal spaces and a wide selection of activities for the residents to participate
in. From the first viewing I knew mum would be well looked after and cared for here.

Following my mums demise with Alzheimer's and what we thought would be respite care we slowly realised Marnel Lodge would be the best option for mum long term. Something we never thought we would have to do but the whole team from management, nurses, carers, activity staff and Reception made the whole
process which was so emotional an easier one with their guidance. The home is just lovely, very clean , the rooms are big and bright, with several lounge areas, cinema rooms a hairdressers, amazing garden and a reception area which is so welcoming. The food is cooked fresh with lots of variety. It took a while for mum to settle, I never thought she would but she did. Her mental state has improved, as well as her sleep and appetite. She's involved with the fantastic activities they put on and has made some nice friends. As her daughter I feel relieved that she is now in a safe environment with people that actually care. Thank you Marnel, it's been a long road but it was worth every step.

With a career in care finding a care home for your father is very challenging.
From the moment I made the phone call asking if I can pop in to view I knew instantly that this was a good choice.
The level of care from staff goes above expectations everyone welcomes you.
And I have watched him bloom and
get his confidence back. He's eating properly and always offered alternatives if he's not feeling well. The Activity team go above and beyond.
There has been issues that the management team have addressed and even though some may have been minor to them they have been dealt with professionally.
But the main thing is that he feels safe and at home.

I have had both my parents as residents in The Fernes. My mother was on memory lane for 18 months and passed away at the end of January. The respect with which she was treated was second to none.
It would be naive to assume that care is 100 percent perfect, but I genuinely do not think we could have
found a better home, and without someone sitting with mum 24 hours a day, there could not have been more done to allay her anxiety.
The activities to engage with residents are so varied - mum was not very sociable with her dementia but enjoyed table tennis from her wheelchair, giant connect four and made use of the garden. Visits from children's choirs were a highlight for her.
When mum deteriorated in her last days the staff could not have been more considerate with us as family as well as with my mother.
Dad is now a resident and whilst primarily bed bound he enjoys the interaction with all the staff, the smiles, the jokes, the "dropping in". The laughter sustains him.
Reply from Alina Danetiu, General Manager at Barchester The FernesThank you so much for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review. We are truly touched by your kind words and deeply grateful that you entrusted us with the care of both your mum and dad. It was an honour to care for your mother during her time on Memory Lane. Your words about the respect, dignity, and compassion she received mean more to us than we can express. We also want to thank you for recognising the efforts of our team during such a difficult time at the end of your mum's life. Supporting both residents and their families with sensitivity and kindness is at the heart of what we do, and it means a great deal to know this was felt by you. It is also a privilege to continue caring for your dad. Thank you again for your trust, your honesty, and your warmth. Please know that you are always welcome, and we are here for both you and your family whenever you need us.

My Mother has been in Florence Court for 2 and a half years. She is very happy and has made lots of lovely friends. The carers are so attentive to her needs and as a family it's such a relief to know that she is in safe hands. The home is beautiful and the rooms are kept very clean. My Mother loves
the food and enjoys the entertainment programme. Highly recommended Florence Court.

Mum arrived at CBM in November 2022. She is happy and well looked after, therefore we're happy. She got a point that she needed to know there was someone around through the night, so safe. She has good food. She's sociable and enjoys the activities provided. A very good home with very good staff. Keep
it up.

In January we had to air ambulance my Father from back to the UK. Rothsay Grange exceeded helpfulness in allowing admission in the early hours of the morning and made every effort to make him welcome and comfortable. In the three weeks he was there the staff all made great efforts to get to know my
Father and cater for all his needs which were complex. In the time there my Father enjoyed many meals and was very happy. The environment is very welcoming and all the staff are friendly and kind.
Sadly in his last week he was very ill and it became clear it was an end of life care situation. Everyone at the home was amazingly supportive and aided us in giving him a quiet and restful time with no pain. I could not have wished for a better place for him to be and it was lovey that I was able to be with him. The help and advice from the staff preparing me for making all the arrangements could not have been more helpful. Thank you to everyone

Mum settled into Cherry Blossom care home well and has just celebrated her 100th birthday. The whole team at CB have been amazing over the 3 years Mum has lived there. We know she is safe, happy and well looked after. She enjoys taking part in a variety of activities includes crafting and days out
in the mini bus. The whole team including, but not limited too.. Kitchen, housekeeping, maintenance, specialist care, medical and management team members are all dedicated and hard working They ensure all residents and their loved ones are listened too and supported in the most efficient and effective way for each individual. Sometimes we know it can be a challenge but their smiles, humour and care make the home a bright and happy place. Thank you all.
Reply from Gigi Despojo, GM at Barchester Cherry Blossom ManorHi Janet, Thank you for this kind compliment. We are happy to be part of your mum's 100th birthday celebration. This is your mum's birthday wish that came true, of course with the 100th birthday greeting from the King himself and the attendance of the Mayor were something that gave her additional joy. Her birthday was captured also in our local news, and she was pleased to read the article.. I will share your compliment to the team.

Five stars simply aren't enough for Snowdrop Place and all the staff!
From the moment we nervously stepped through the door on one of their "open days", through the paperwork to secure Mary's place, the very difficult day when we moved her in to all the on-going help & support, I cannot fault the care
& service given to all of us!
It is also a real pleasure to go in for a visit - the welcome is always friendly, the coffee & cake shared with Mary in the Strawberry Fields" cafe is delicious and just to see her smiling & happy is really the only assurance we need!
There's so much more to say but I would recommend just paying a visit and see for yourself - I promise you won't be disappointed.

I stayed in Marnel Lodge for 2 weeks as respite before returning home after 2 major operations. I did not need care but staff were willing to help if I did need it.
I had to ask for my bed linen to be changed after my first week. (Linen was never ironed).
On some occasions my breakfast did not appear
exactly as ordered which was irritating but not vital. (lack of understanding by care worker?)

My mother had a week's respite stay at the Marnell Lodge at the end of last year after having broken her left knee. I can say that from the admin staff through to all the caring staff, everyone at the Marnel Lodge are just wonderful. They all took time to greet mom on her arrival and all stayed for
a little chat so that she could feel welcome. The staff all reassured me as well that I wasn't to worry, that mom would be just fine for the week with them and she was. She absolultely loved her stay there and wouldn't hesitate to go in for another respite week if the need arose. Thank you to you all for the care that you showed both mom and I.

Overall I am very happy with the care. Staff are always cheerful and lovely. I do however think that there is a lack of staff. Which considering the fees and imminent increase, feel this is not really acceptable.
