Hello, my name is Samantha, and I am the General Manager here at Hazleton Gardens Care Home. I have worked in the care industry for over 20 years. I began my career as a Kitchen Assistant in a care home, where I quickly developed a passion for supporting people who require care and assistance. Inspired by the rewarding environment and the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives, I progressed into a Care Assistant role and steadily worked my way through the sector to become a General Manager.

Throughout my career, I have found caring for older people to be incredibly rewarding. Building meaningful relationships with residents and learning about their individual life experiences has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of my role. I am passionate about ensuring every resident receives person-centred care that respects their dignity, individuality, and needs.

As a leader, I have also enjoyed developing and supporting teams to deliver exceptional care. Coaching and mentoring colleagues, helping them build confidence and watching them grow both professionally and personally has been a highlight of my management journey. Seeing team members progress in their careers and achieve their goals is something I take great pride in, and I remain committed to fostering a positive and supportive environment for both residents and staff.

Family is really important to me. Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, going on holidays, and I love playing squash.

Hello, my name is Daisy, and I am the Administrator here at Hazleton Gardens. I have worked in the care industry for the past six years as an administrator across residential, dementia and nursing care communities.

I find working in care incredibly rewarding and take great pride in the relationships I build with residents, families and colleagues. Getting to know people from all walks of life is one of the aspects of my role that I enjoy most. I value the opportunity to make a positive difference to those around me, and I believe that taking time to listen, understand and connect with people is an important part of creating a warm and supportive environment.

Throughout my career, I have continued to develop both personally and professionally, learning something new from every person and experience along the way. I hope to bring that experience to my role in our wonderful new home. I am passionate about personal development and enjoy the variety that working within the care sector brings.

Before beginning my career in the care industry, I spent time travelling around Southeast Asia. This was a hugely formative experience that helped me to grow in confidence, independence and understanding of different cultures and perspectives. Meeting so many new people and experiencing different ways of life has continued to influence the way I approach both my work and my relationships with others.

I feel incredibly proud of the journey I have taken so far and look forward to continuing to learn, develop and make a positive contribution within our home alongside my team.

Hello, my name is Jack, and I am the Home Services Advisor at Hazleton Gardens. Having built my career within customer service, hospitality, sales and retail management, I am excited to bring my experience into the care sector. My background has always been people-focused, with a strong emphasis on delivering exceptional customer experiences, building lasting relationships, and supporting individuals with compassion and care.

I enjoy helping individuals and families explore care options, ensuring they feel informed, reassured, and confident in making the right decision. Building strong community connections and making a positive difference in the lives of residents and their loved ones is something I am truly passionate about.

Outside of work, I am an active member of a local theatre group, performing in pantomimes and summer productions that raise money for local charities and community projects. For over 15 years, I have enjoyed entertaining audiences, bringing people together, and supporting good causes through theatre.

Hello, my name is Stu, and I am the Head Chef here at Hazelton Gardens Care Home. I have worked in the care industry for over 10 years; before that, I worked in large hotels, restaurants and gastro pubs, even spending 2 years working for a celebrity chef.

I moved into the care industry because I try to help change people’s perceptions of care home food by bringing my culinary knowledge and techniques to give older people more choice and to experience new foods, but maintaining a good, balanced nutritional diet, mealtimes, and food make a huge part of the day for our residents, so it's important to give 100% in the kitchen.

During my time in the care industry, I have found it to be both rewarding and challenging and have learned new skills and spent time with many interesting and colourful characters and have gained knowledge and learned of life experience’s that make my job in the kitchen even more rewarding.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and taking every chance we can to visit our favourite place, Cornwall, with our dog.

I'm excited to open Hazelton Gardens and can't wait to welcome new residents and let them sample our food. Read less

I have over 20 years of experience across the construction, property maintenance and building industries, including my role as Head of Maintenance at Hazleton Gardens. With a strong background in contracts management, project delivery and practical problem-solving, I am passionate about maintaining high standards and creating safe, comfortable and welcoming environments for residents, colleagues and visitors.

I take pride in my hands-on approach and enjoy finding ways to make a positive difference to the home and the people who live and work there. One of my exciting projects at Hazleton Gardens is developing the vegetable garden, creating an opportunity to grow fresh fruit and vegetables while encouraging residents to get involved, enjoy the outdoors and share in the rewards of gardening.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, walking my dog Winston and getting stuck into gardening. I am looking forward to bringing my enthusiasm for growing my own produce to Hazleton Gardens and helping create something that residents can enjoy together throughout the seasons.

My hobbies include Playing Bass guitar; I am also learning to play the harmonica and all things. I decided to join care because I enjoy spending time with the elderly, having a laugh with them, sharing stories and teaching them new skills. Read less

Hello, my name is Zoe, and I am the Senior Activities Coordinator here at Hazleton Gardens, and I absolutely love what I do. Before joining the care sector, I spent nearly 10 years working on cruise ships as part of the Fun Squad, and I now bring that same energy, enthusiasm and love of entertainment to my role in care.

My favourite part of my job is making people smile, taking people out on trips, bringing in the community and making their dreams come true. People say you will often hear me before you see me, as I’m usually singing, dancing or generally being a little bit silly! I love creating meaningful, person-centred activities and adapting our programme around the interests, stories and personalities of the people we support. I also enjoy sharing my ideas and supporting other homes in my senior role to create fantastic experiences for their residents.

In my free time, I love to travel and explore, and I even have a diving license
