I would strongly urge families to think carefully before placing a loved one in Maple Leaf Lodge. My father, who suffers with dementia, sustained a serious head injury while in their care and was hospitalised. He was left bleeding from both the front and back of his head, suffered extensive bruising
and required stitches. Even now he remains frightened and traumatised. Despite the seriousness of his injuries, we felt unsupported and shocked by the lack of urgency and compassion shown afterwards. Following the incident, my father was refused return to the home without clear explanation, leaving my elderly mother, who has severe mobility problems herself, struggling to cope. We also later discovered he had been prescribed diazepam without this being properly communicated to the family. Due to the seriousness of our concerns, the police, legal advisors and the Care Quality Commission are now involved.

I have been a resident at Wood Grange Care Home, Bourne, since October 2025; having been here receiving several months respite care previously. The care, support and nursing care I have received is second to none - in all departments. My family and I are more than happy. It is my home!!!

We are generally happy with Newton House, but have concerns around the cleanilness of the communal toilets. Each time we have used the, they have been dirty. Suggest more regular monitoring during the day. Today when visiting my mother, I was

Wood Grange is always welcoming when we visit with our school council representatives. Our primary school is very local and our young people love popping in to play games, making pizza and recently decorating a St. Patricks Day banner for their lounge! Thank you Wood Grange!

My brother has been in the care of Newton House, firstly for respite and now for residential care for nearly 3 years. From day one they have all been caring and welcoming, whether they be nursing, house-keeping, administration, catering or maintenance, all acknowledge him and are happy to have a chat
with him. The communal areas are extremely comfortable and always decorated with the latest activity. Staff always keep me informed re any changes in treatment. I feel content that he is well cared for and safe.

The care my mother is receiving is excellent. The daytime activities are varied and she usually participates in these. The activities staff are brilliant. The meals and snacks are always lovely and she enjoys them. Over the last week though I think there has been a shortage of staff. But I am aware there
are issues throughout the country with carers. Overall the staff are fantastic from the kitchen laundry staff up to the nursing staff. Nothing is too much trouble. All your hard work is appreciated. Thank you.

There is no doubt that this a very special Care Home. It must be emphasised that there are many here who have gone through difficult times in their lives and views differ. During my time here I feel that I have been treated well and as the Representative of the residents I have done all I can to help
others. Activities are well planned and attempts are made to please as many as possible. Food & menus are well thought out with allergies/diabetic etc and well catered for. Management is sympathetic and understanding. Its difficult to think where such care can be done elsewhere.

The respite care provided was superb from start to finish. Every member of the staff were kind considerate and went over and above t omake my brother-in-law feel at home. He was reluctant to be in the home initially but admitted that he had enjoyed his stay.
We will have no hesitation in placing him
here again if it becomes necessary in the future.

The staff and management are excellent as are the bedrooms and other rooms. My only observations are other residents have access to my wife's room and it means that some items of clothing can go missing. I realise this is difficult to resolve and I don't have the answers. It is clearly not possible
for room to be locked particularly on the upper secure level where keeping residents out of lifts can be challenging. More positively I can only say that the home has my utmost admiration and respect for the services provided and the dedication of all the staff and management. Thank you.

My wife came to Wood Grange for end-of-life care. That care could not be faulted. It gave her, despite her pains, a loving, caring environment. All the staff were pleasant and nothing, however difficult, was too much trouble. The caring did not stop with my wife; the same caring approach was given to
me and my daughter whenever we visited and we truly appreciated. Everything, and everyone from the managers down, was first what is should be.
My wife was only there for 9 days. but I am sure she benefited from the care and comfort given.

My wife has been a resident at Maple Leaf Lodge for 10 months now. Living at home with me previously was very difficult as she didn't know who I was. However, the incredible care and support by the management and staff has taken away her anxiety and she is so much happier, getting involved in activities
and outings. The home is modern, clean and beautifully decorated. The atmosphere is always friendly and homely, the standard of food is always excellent. I have no hesitation in recommending this lovely care home.
