Before this I came in regularly for respite, when my daughter went on holiday I always called it my second home and when the time was right The Cedars would become my permanent home. Our introduction to the home was during difficult circumstances. A father who had days to live and a mother who could no longer care for herself. The amount of work the home took on not only to ensure their new residents were safe and received all the care they needed, but the respect, clarity and help they extended to us as a family helped more than they could possibly know. After Dad passed away the help mum received and is still receiving is in my view utter perfection. The staff across all departments are so utterly normal and switched on. I'm wondering if they're grooming us as future residents!

The Cedars is an outstanding home from home. The staff all value every aspect of my Fathers life, his interactions with his family and friends, making sure everyone feels welcomed and well catered for. The activities are enriching and engaging with a special team who think outside the box in the best interests of the residents, including celebrating birthdays, anniversaries & much more. The team focus on inclusion, well-being and support. Every team member wants to help every resident and visitor have a great experience from friendly smiles and hello's to sharing stories of the day. It is always incredible clean and tidy, the garden space is well kept (2 acres is a lot to take care of!) with lots of outside seating in sunny and shady spots. My Dad's room is very homely, as he wants it and being able to use a special family / visitor lounge for private meetings and functions is such a bonus along with 2 other lounges, restaurant area, so much space to enjoy. Dad loves it here!

The one outstanding element for us as a family is how Dad's welfare is top priority, including enabling him to sit in reception, thus interacting with all the wonderful staff and visitors in a way that makes his world a happy place!

Resident Ambassadors act as the voice of our care home residents, providing an additional channel for expressing concerns, sharing suggestions, and highlighting where the home is doing well. Arthur liaises with residents and staff members. He also fosters great community spirit and resolves issues.
