I was only at Tennyson Wharf for three nights an eighty nine year old visiting my cousin. My experience from start to finish was delightful. Special care must be taken recruiting staff as their approach to their job was above and beyond expectations. We were cared for without being made to feel needy
(respect) and the joy and laughter was so uplifting I was sad to leave.
Unfortunatly Tennyson Wharf is in Lincoln and I'm in Cambridge or I would be considering long term stay.

I am the resident representative here at Tennyson Wharf I appreciate the opportunity to represent this care home which is rated as phenomenal by inspectors. All departments here are excellent and the care and kindness is second to none with residents treated with dignity. Health and safety and security
are paramount with housekeeping and cleanliness is obvious to visitors & guests. Activities are well presented and this is difficult because of such a diverse society. Visits are available as well as visiting singers and armchair exercises. This care home has a dementia community and all carers have constant training to help with all capabilities. Meals are well presented with options available and care with allergies and diabetic needs. The management and admin ensure that residents and carers receive personally centered attention.

I am pleased to share our experience with Tennyson Wharf Barchester Care Home, where my father moved in on 17th March 2025. We discovered Tennyson Wharf through a friend and visited on 15th March, where we were warmly welcomed by a knowledgeable staff member. The home's warm atmosphere was evident,
especially during an enjoyable Irish dancing performance.
The staff went above and beyond to accommodate my father on short notice, providing invaluable support during this emotional time. The care home is in a superb location with lovely gardens and marina views, and it's impeccably clean and well-maintained.
What sets Tennyson Wharf apart is the genuine care each resident receives. The food is excellent, and the variety of activities keeps residents engaged. The facility feels like a five-star hotel, with ample parking and spacious rooms. The paperwork process was seamless, making the transition easier. I highly recommend Tennyson Wharf for its exceptional care and kindness!

Everyone of the staff are kind and and caring plenty of activities. The building is very clean and looked after, as are the grounds. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. I always feel nothing is too much trouble when I ring or call in.

The standards at Tennyson Wharf are exceptional. All of the team looking after the residents are amazing, kind, caring, considerate and nothing is too much trouble. Excellent range of activities on everyday to keep residents engaged should they wish to join in. Mum is extremely happy there and settled

Mum has been made to feel welcome right from the start. The staff are lovely, very caring and adaptable. Nothing seems too much trouble. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and there is plenty for her to do without feeling any pressure to participate. Mum has made friends already and is thoroughly
enjoying her new life. The improvement in her walking and general demeanour is remarkable.

Mum had to go into care quickly and Barchester Tennyson Wharf Care Home was able to accommodate this. The care given to Mum was excellent. All staff were cheerful and kept us informed of any changes with her. Thank you for the care given to Mum. She was very happy with you.

Having spent a lot of time researching to find a suitable respite placement for my father, I finally came upon this absolutely brilliant home which looked nothing like standard care homes. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Dad said this was his favourite place, topping pub breakfasts! Most
importantly, he's really happy to return for more respite shortly and if permanent care was required, he'd be more than happy to return. He really loved it there and loved all the attention.

My son arranged for me to have a week's respite holiday so I could visit relatives who lived in the area.
It was arranged efficiently but feel because of the circumstances I cannot comment fairly on the facilities and activities.
I found the whole experience enjoyable and energising after a difficult
few weeks at home where I live alone.
On arrival I received a warm welcome and was impressed by the high standard and freshness of the decor - which I noticed continued throughout. I found all the caring staff always friendly and extremely helpful. The food good with nice-sized portions but unfortunately I found the residents antisocial - the few I met in the dining room and others stayed in their rooms.

We thought that Tennyson Wharf facilities and rooms were excellent. The activities staff made sure my mum was included at all times. Our only concern was the doctor who visited the home requested blood pressure and blood glucose tests three times a day and this was never carried out without my mum buzzing
and reminding them.

After a nightmare week in hospital I needed to gain confidence before returning to live alone. Barchester Tennyson Wharf Care Home had a good reputation so I booked myself in for a week then a second. I have gained confidence, benefited from the good food and kindness and expert care. The home's biggest
asset is its staff team who are splendid people, with nothing too much trouble unimportant need to me no patronising. I retired 29 years ago from residential care management, CQC lay inspector and other experience in care for older people. Here is a new concept of care to what I've experienced and I like it. Barchester Tennyson Wharf Care Home is an exceptional place with exceptional staff dealing with a variety of needs for vulnerable people. A good place, thank you.

As this is my fourth stay at Burton Waters residential home, I think that must speak for itself regarding satisfaction. The staff are always polite and helpful and will go the extra mile to sort out any problems a resident may have. If in the future I should need some temporary assistance of a personal
nature away from home, Burton Waters would be my first port of call.

My children and I have all been very comforted and consoled by the kindness and concern of all of the staff and are super impressed by the treatment that my husband is receiving. We were initially very concerned that my husband was having difficulty settling, but the staff reacted promptly and with

Hello, I am Sarah Noutch, General Manager at Tennyson Wharf. I first registered as a nurse in 2003. I began my career in the NHS working in the medical division. I came to Tennyson Wharf having worked at Barchester’s Lancaster Grange care home as General Manager.


I am passionate about delivering good quality, personalised care. This is reflected within the fantastic team we have here at Tennyson Wharf. I am always available for a coffee and a chat and welcome you to meet our care team and view our home.

Tracie decided she would like a change in her career and work in a care home where she joined the team at Tennyson Wharf in 2015, just 2 months after it opened. She really enjoys her role as Deputy Manager, working alongside Sarah to support our magnificent team and residents.

Karen Holmes

Job Title: Administrator Joined: 2022

Karen joined Tennyson Wharf in April 2022 as the home`s Administrator. Previously Karen worked for another care provider for 20 years so comes with tons of experience.


Karen enjoys being able to help and support people and is pleased to be able to do this as part of her job role at Tennyson Wharf and gets satisfaction from being able to offer help to the lovely residents and their families with anything relating to finances or administration as well as interacting with our residents on a daily basis to make their lives more enjoyable.


In her spare time, Karen enjoys spending time with her family going for long walks with her dog. Karen also likes travelling and holidays especially to the Greek Islands, Skiathos and Zakynthos being 2 of her favourite destinations to date.

Dawn

Dawn Bailey

Job Title: Head Chef Joined: 2014

Dawn is our Head Chef who joins the team here at Tennyson Wharf with a wealth of catering experience.


Dawn was military-trained and latterly worked in the RAF as a Chef. She is passionate about delivering freshly prepared, nutritious meals with a person-centred approach.


In her spare time, Dawn enjoys keeping fit by running and visiting the gym, and she also has a young family to keep her busy.

Andrew

Andrew Nevard

Job Title: Head of Maintenance Joined: 2023

Andrew joined the Tennyson Wharf family in February 2023.


He has over 30+ years of experience working in Maintenance within the Hotel industry but decided he wanted a change.


Andrew is settling into his role at Tennyson Wharf very well and nothing is too much trouble. He has a passion for helping others and loves engaging with our residents and staff.


In his spare time, Andrew is a lover of the outdoors and walking.

Michelle Taylor

Job Title: Head of Housekeeping Joined: 2017

Michelle had over 15 years of experience in the cleaning industry before coming to join the Tennyson Wharf team as a care assistant for 3 years before taking on the role of head of housekeeping in July 2021.


Michelle loves to ensure the home is kept clean for our residents and their relatives to enjoy when they come to visit. Her favourite part of her job is working alongside a great team and spending time with the residents, learning about their lives and what is important to them.
