My husband moved to Tennyson Wharf after being in hospital with a serious stroke which he had 27th Dec 16. The hospital just kept him "bed bound" all day long and he never progressed mentally or physically. Since he has been at Tennyson Wharf you can see he is more comfortable and because of this he is progressing (albeit slowly). He is being hoisted out into his wheelchair and/or recliner chair when he wants to. He now sits and plays dominoes, is writing and reading and is so happy with the regular staff. (Thumbs up every time they come in or go out). All the staff are so very friendly towards him and myself which all contributes to his self-esteem which was very low when he arrived at Tennyson Wharf. I am hoping for a really positive outcome. Before Tennyson Wharf we were all losing hope.

Before she came to this care home, we visited a couple of others in order to make a comparison. They were not in the same league for all the reasons below. We were very impressed with the care and compassion she received here along with the other residents. Obviously, the hardest thing for all the residents is their loss of independence but in her case, she was definitely unable to care for herself and keep safe at home. When we visit she always seems content and relaxed and has a genuine rapport with carers and residents. Thank you for all you do.

The staff are very kind and I always find them very helpful, they look after my husband really well. Personal things sometimes disappear and then sometimes reappear, perhaps that's because residents wander into each other's rooms. The home is always spotless and my husband always enjoys his food.

My husband came nearly two years ago. In this time he slowly was going downhill but he has been happy here, being looked after well by staff. Staff care so well for the residents.

Very good quality staff. Many extremely caring and committed. Relatively limited movement of staff which is vital, as consistency and familiarity with residents with dementia. Facilities excellent and kept very clean. Rooms great size and very pleasant. Lounges are fabulous with 'proper' furniture...no plastic sets here. The only improvement I'd like to see is more physical activity. My mum has put on a considerable amount of weight, having been very physically fit on entering the home. This seems to be a neglected area. The reception area is sometimes unattended which makes it difficult for visitors to get in.

My partner has been in Tennyson Wharf with dementia since November 2015 and prior to permanence, several times for respite. I can only say that I have been very fortunate to find such a lovely home for him. Everyone there is wonderful - administrative staff and carers alike.

The care is fantastic, the food is fantastic, the home is fantastic and my partner is superbly cared for and very happy in his own little world. Can I say anymore! Yes I would recommend - I've told my children that should I need care in the future there is only one place I wish to go!!

One should expect the daily contact with the working world to slide, and Tennyson which is a no 1 care home, with superb staff and facilities.

I would prefer it being closer to the local services to be reached on foot. I also appreciate why it is not. I would recommend it to anybody.
