It was great to have several options of where to sit when visiting Mum, with the choice of two lounges upstairs, the main lounge downstairs and the terrace. I found all the staff polite, professional, friendly and supportive.

I'm a 71 year old lady who booked into Mortain Place for 2 weeks Respite Care following surgery on my dominant hand. To me it was more like a hotel than a care home & I was so happy & so well looked after that I extended my stay by an extra week. The staff are kind, provide good care & they made me feel most welcome. Some of the staff wore many hats but they all knew every resident by name plus their likes & dislikes. The food was very good with a choice of 2 main courses at lunch & dinner plus a " light bites" menu. You could have your meals served in one of the dining rooms or in your room. I particularly enjoyed the homemade cake & cookies that were served on the tea trolley twice a day. My room was cleaned daily & I could send my clothes to the laundry daily or as required - a wonderful service. The very bubbly & enthusiastic activities co-ordinator arranges a wide choice of daily activities with something for everyone. I would definitely return here.

My sister went to Lydfords in September first of All as respite then she went permanent. My brother and I have been very impressed with the care, kindness and compassion the staff have shown my sister and ourselves through out this traumatic transition. It's such a relief to know that Jen is in safe hands! She has settled much better than we ever expected. Again this I believe down to the great level of care Jenny has received! Lydfords is a very special home.

We have very good grounds and garden maintenance is good.

My father moved in for a respite stay and has now decided to become a full resident. He was immediately made to feel welcome and comfortable by the excellent staff. Everybody is friendly, helpful and proactive without being intrusive. This has had a major positive impact on fathers life.

The only issue have is that Sat & Sunday the door from the car park can only be opened from inside but there is no one to open it. I often have to open it for people visiting.

My family and I could not be happier with the care that mum receives at Wadhurst Manor. The house itself is kept beautifully tidy and clean and the facilities all work to a high standard. The carers are friendly and professional and the manager is approachable and proactive - resolving any issue without delay, however small. The Enrichment Programme and activities provided are diverse, varied and well produced. Overall, the care given is bespoke

The facilities are extremely good, but it's all about the wonderful staff and the genuine care of all of the residents. Residents are given plenty to do, great food and when needed, the nursing care that one would hope for. I can't recommend Wadhurst Manor enough.

Hazel lodge in my views is just like a four star hotel.

My stay in Sycamore Grove on all occasions has been one of pleasure. They were very caring, staff who work hard to make my stay so enjoyable. A program to encourage me to help getting to know other residents and good for wellbeing. Garden friendly for disabled, I like being outdoors. A doctor from local surgery calls in so helpful! In conclusion, my stay was like being in a large family home. I shall be going again for respite in the future.

We have been visiting our dear old friend living in Wadhurst for over a year. We're highly impressed with the care home and staff. It's a comfort to know that our dear old friend is being cared for with such kindness and respect. The staff go above and beyond to ensure that the residents feel comfortable and valued. It is lovely to see the genuine care and attention they give. It means a lot to us to see and know our friend is in good hands. Everywhere in the home is to a high standard of cleanliness . Thank you to all the staff for the work you are doing. We appreciate it!

My mother has settled really well into the care home. The staff have been caring and supportive. They look after her day to day needs and support her when she becomes a little displaced. The food has been adjusted for her needs and she enjoys it. She also enjoys the entertainment and is encouraged to watch and participate if she wants to. Overall the transition from her own home to Lydfords has been enjoyable for her and her family to witness. The staff are helpful kind and compassionate.. what more could you ask for!

I have just spent 5 weeks respite at Mortain Place following surgery and other complications. The care has been outstanding, slowly and with respect helping me to restore my strength and confidence. Throughout the various departments there is a high standard of professionalism, encouragement and concern for the individual resident.

Mum has been in Mortain Place as a permanent resident for nearly a year now. It was by far the best decision we made. Mum is so happy there and she is looked after wonderfully. She is encouraged to live as independently as possible and the staff know just how much to help her if needed. Mortain Place is kept beautifully clean by the housekeeping team and the laundry service is super efficient. Bex, the Activities Coordinator offers a daily list of amazing activities inside and outside of the home and the residents are encouraged to take part in as much as possible. The wonderful team of carers are led by Jacquie & Kim who go above and beyond to ensure all the residents are looked after. Katie, the General Manager and Rob are always on hand if needed. Any complaints or issues are dealt with swiftly and efficiently. We as a family, rest easy knowing Mum is so well cared for.

Following a hip replacement and living alone I was advised to stay at a respite home. I chose Mortain, it was the best decision I have ever made. The care and attention I received were second to none. The staff were so attentive, the accommodation. first class, the food again was excellent. I believe my stay at Mortain helped with my speedy recovery. Should I have another surgery I would not hesitate to look to Mortain and have already recommended to friends . The staff are amazing. Nothing is any trouble . I supported my friends into coming for a respite visit. They have enjoyed their time and made very welcome. During their stay they have had a wedding anniversary and a birthday. The Port Manor family helped them celebrate their special occasions. The rooms are lovely. Food is great and as a visitor you are made most welcome.

Whilst the environment, catering and housekeeping is excellent, the best part of Port Manor are the people. The staff are brilliant. Mum has had a challenging six months with her health and I have struggled with the changes, but the staff are always there for both of us, taking the time to reassure, explain and offer advice. They know mum so well, and know what is important to her and how to get the best from her. She is now socialising and joining in with activities in a way I could only dream of when she was at home. Port Manor is a second home for me, my friends and of course Barney who is welcomed with open arms and lots of cuddles and treats. Most importantly, it is now Mum's home and she is thriving-thank you.

I booked to convalesce at Hurstwood following a Prostatectomy the day after my operation. So far on my stay here the staff and care has been exceptional, are very committed and all have a can do attitude which I find so positive and refreshing. They are a bunch of lovely kind people as well. The Home is well managed and clean and always have daily activities going on plus a good restaurant and most efficient laundry service. Managing to deal with everything post op especially catheter care would have been so difficult at home. Thank you again

This has been such a difficult and emotional time for our whole family, but the care, kindness and support we have received from everyone has meant more to us than we can put into words. They have supported us in every way possible, always taking the time to listen, reassure us and make us feel that our nan is truly cared for.

Whenever we visit, we are made to feel so welcome, and it is such a comfort to know that she is surrounded by such caring and compassionate people.
