Residents are offered the right level of support for their needs, this is done with respect and always maintaining their dignity.
Their Memory Lane community is designed to support independence and stimulation for those living with dementia whilst receiving the specialist care and support they need. There are two terrace areas one if which is dedicated to gardening, themed corridors and personalised activities.
The life enrichment team has a dedicated programme and is adapted to ensure everyone is able to take part. From small group activities to large events where family can come and join in. The home is very active in the community with trips out in their mini bus to local places and welcoming the community into the home.
The hospitality team cater to all dietary requirements. All meals are nutritious and freshly prepared daily. They strive to offer an excellent dining experience to encourage appetite and the wellbeing of each resident.

We arrived at Hurstwood View very broken. My mum had lived at another Barchester Home for four years and had the most amazing care and we had all become part of their family. We had presumed and hoped that mum would peacefully pass away there but very suddenly she became very ill, was transferred to hospital and within 36 hours was put on End of Life Care. As a residential home, the other home could not support her needs and we had to consider her either dying in hospital ( which she did not want) or moving her elsewhere. One phone call to Kirsty and she liaised with Skye at the previous home. It was seamless, we arrived as a family and it felt as if someone wrapped their arms around us and said 'it is ok, we have got you'. Every member of staff showed us so much kindness and made mum so comfortable. There are no words to praise the whole team. THANKYOU is not enough but it is all I have x

Hello everyone, I am Madhvi Bucktowar, and I joined Barchester in January 2026. I currently work as a Staff nurse at Hurstwood View Care Home. I was born in Mauritius and came to the UK in 2001. I started my career in healthcare as a Care assistant in a residential home. I started working towards my Nursing Qualification in 2005. I studied at the University of Surrey for 3 years and was qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse by the end of 2008. Since being qualified, I have worked in different Care Homes looking after elderly people with nursing needs, Learning Disability and people with Dementia. I joined the setting in January 2024 as a Care Assistant from a background of supporting adults with learning disabilities. I quickly progressed with the support of the home to Senior Care Assistant. Whilst my role was fulfilling, I have a love for learning and progression which has been recognised and supported by the leadership of the home. I now proudly hold the position of Care Practitioner.
