View Full Details of Barchester Hurstwood ViewFrom my mother's admission to Hurstwood View during the second lockdown of 2020 until her passing just before last Christmas, her care at the home could not have been in better hands. My mother's decline with dementia was treated by staff professionally, with love and respect. The home truly felt like a home and was always a pleasure to visit. All the staff were fantastic throughout and stepped up another level when my mother needed palliative care. A heartfelt thank you.
We arrived at Hurstwood View very broken. My mum had lived at another Barchester Home for four years and had the most amazing care and we had all become part of their family. We had presumed and hoped that mum would peacefully pass away there but very suddenly she became very ill, was transferred to hospital and within 36 hours was put on End of Life Care. As a residential home, the other home could not support her needs and we had to consider her either dying in hospital ( which she did not want) or moving her elsewhere. One phone call to Kirsty and she liaised with Skye at the previous home. It was seamless, we arrived as a family and it felt as if someone wrapped their arms around us and said 'it is ok, we have got you'. Every member of staff showed us so much kindness and made mum so comfortable. There are no words to praise the whole team. THANKYOU is not enough but it is all I have x
I cannot praise or thank Kirsty and her team enough for the outstanding care my husband received during his stay at Hurstwood View. My husband was transferred from a hospice after being diagnosed with a brain tumour and was deteriorating rapidly - it was an incredibly frightening and emotional time for our whole family. From the very first moment we stepped into Hurstwood View, we were met with kindness, warmth, and compassion. The team cared not only for my husband, but also for us as a family. The home itself is beautifully kept, warm, and inviting, but it is the staff who truly make it something exceptional. We will always be deeply grateful for the care, support, and compassion shown to us during such a difficult time. Hurstwood View is a very special place, and we feel so fortunate that our loved one, was looked after by such an amazing team.
Incredible professionalism from management team and excellent care from nursing staff Compassionate, invested in their respective roles The facility is superb by way of making the residents comfortable and welcoming for family
I cannot thank the team at Hurstwood View enough, my Mum came to the home for respite care after suffering a sudden stroke, when she first came she was feeling vulnerable and scared but within a few days of the support and care from Kirsty and her team I saw mum's confidence and strength start to return, everyone's made to feel welcome whether a resident or visitor, the staff are always around to help with anything, Thank you again to the team.
My wife entered Hurstwood View on January 17th 2024 and I have been very pleased with the standard of care and attention since that date. Their attention to detail is important in many areas of life but particularly in the Care Sector. Hurstwood View personnel have done very well in this regard.
What can I say this home is just great. All the staff are so friendly & helped my Mum adjust to her restbite for 2 weeks. This was Mum's second restbite here & she has obviously made lots of friends. On her first visit she was a bit anxious but this time she was very happy & relaxed. Which means when we need restbite care it's exactly that we don't have to worry about Mum at all we know she's getting the best care possible.
No complaints whatsoever. A very friendly reception with the most amazing staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The clinical staff and end-of-life care was excellent. Would recommend this nursing home.
As soon as you walk through the doors you can feel this is a special place. All there staff are caring and well trained. As good as it gets?
All the staff were kind, attentive and professional, from the manager, nurses and care staff through to the finance/admin team. The home has a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere and lovely surroundings. Mum's room was spacious, spotless and well equipped. Mum moved to Hurstwood View following a terminal diagnosis and the nursing staff were incredible in their dedication to making her final weeks comfortable and dignified, and as a family we felt fully supported. I would recommend Hurstwood View Care Home wholeheartedly.
Thank you for being so kind + helpful. I spent time with as re-hab after having a stroke. You made it pleasant whilst I was down. I would certainly recommend you.
Very satisfied - Excellent care.
A purpose built, delightful, friendly, caring home with an uplifting atmosphere and a focus on enriching activities alongside the normal daily needs of the residents. The carers are genuinely lovely, very capable & attentive. Mum especially warmed to her carers. Mum's initial 2 week respite turned into 6 weeks. It was unfortunate that she couldn't become a permanent resident, since we could not prove the 2 years funding required. Nevertheless, the lady in the office, did everything possible to advise and support us throughout the process & Mum's respite stay. Would highly recommend to any family considering a care home for their loved one.
Hurstwood View is described by dad, 'like a 5 star hotel!'. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff, they are all so attentive and genuinely caring, patient and happy at all times. They also give respect to those residents who might just be happy to be in their own company and choose not to always join in the huge range of daily activities available. Mum was also there last year, if only for a few weeks, but at a time when her health was at it's most challenging. The care she received was outstanding, and the care they gave us as a family equally so. 5 stars from us all and many many thanks to everyone!
The staff are consistently helpful and extremely friendly. Nothing is too much trouble whenever we have any queries or requests for either management or nursing staff. However, the most important review of all can only really be from my parents who always say that they are happy and well looked after whenever I ask. Thank you.
Since resident has been living in Barchester Hurstwood View, 2022, I cannot fault the excellent quality of staff on all levels: compassion, care etc. The home is an extension of our family. They helped provide a wonderful birthday party today for my mother-in-law. We all had a wonderful day. Thank you Hurstwood View.
Just everything about Hurstwood worked for my father and family. He moved into Hurstwood Court, the independent living wing, some years ago. The staff in Hurstwood View were wonderful with him. Checking that he was safe. Providing him with increasing levels of support as, and when, he needed it. The option to be involved in as much, or as little, of care home life as he wanted provided him with activities, a social network and always ensured a hot meal was available if he didn't feel like shopping and cooking. After several years in his apartment, he eventually moved into Hurstwood View when it was clear that it was no longer safe for him to live independently. The wonderful staff there continued to look after him for a number of years until he eventually succumbed to his illness and passed. The care, compassion and dignity that all the staff show to all their residents, and their families, is truly wonderful. We are all so grateful to the manager and her team.
My husband is being cared for at Barchester Hurstwood View. I am so very pleased and happy that he is there. The staff are truly amazing. Everything is excellent, from the food to the activities to the administration to the maintenance, all of it. Nothing is too much trouble. This is an exceptional place where you know your loved ones are being taken care of and are safe. Thoroughly recommend it. A happy place.
I can't thank the manager and the team enough for how they are treating my father. Having had him in a previous home which wasn't great and where we felt he was restricted, Barchester Hurstwood View is polar opposite and such a relief for our family. The care, compassion and respect are second to none and a true reflection to the training and engagement of the crew.
A great home and we are eternally grateful to the manager and her team for their amazing work, delivered with such care and respect. The manager is a real pillar of support and is always there to listen and her team are super in helping and asking if you're ok and genuinely cares about the family too.
