For a research job in the past, I have visited all aged care facilities in Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire over a two year period so I have a comprehensive view of what can be offered in care homes. I visited my sister-in-law who has dementia in November 2025. I want to say how impressed I was with every aspect of the home:
Flowers growing in a box at waist height to welcome you.
A coffee area and lounge as you walked in.
A warm welcome from the staff.
The lift centrally placed in the foyer with simple codes to stop those clients who have dementia from getting lost.
The welcome from staff and clients in the dementia ward upstairs.
The wide welcoming corridors and clients' doors to their bedrooms.
The place smelt clean (i.e. no old peoples home smell!).
The staff were happy and friendly.
What a lovely atmosphere. Congratulations to all who work there to make this the home from home that it is.

What a wonderful review of our home and this is so very appreciated by our staff. We work hard to make the daily life of our residents meaningful, and pleasurable for their family and friends to visit. Thank you so much for this review, as it is the cherry on the cake for the life of our home! Kindest regards Naomi
