Barchester Hollyfields Care Home

My husband lived in this lovely carehome for over 6 years. He was happy here. He had the best care and everyone was so kind and caring

This is my husband's second stay in Hollyfields. The first first time was going to be for two weeks respite but unfortunately extended to 7 weeks whilst our home was adapted for him to return. The second time was a week in August when I had to go away for work and a family visit. Both times I felt very confident in the help and care my husband was receiving. They cared for him brilliantly considering all the difficulties he has. They maintained a low blood sugar for his diabetes. They managed his movement which is sadly lacking because of his Parkinson's.Both times I felt very confident in the help my husband was getting. They cared They were extremely attentive and friendly and helped him at any point he needed.I cannot recommend them enough for respite care that my husband has had I will definitely lose it in the beginning of the future.

Our experience with Hollyfields has given us real confidence that our loved one is receiving the care and support they need. The Senior General Manager takes the time to explain things clearly and in detail, which has been incredibly reassuring. The Home Administrator is also extremely helpful, approachable and explains things in real terms, making everything much easier to understand. We feel listened to, supported and confident that our loved one is in good hands.

Mom came in for 5wks respite care,the staff were all very nice , friendly and helpful.Her room was spotless and no nasty smells anywhere.It is more like a 4* hotel than a care home.Mom was very calm and seemed to be at home there.

I can't thank the staff enough for the outstanding care, kindness and compassion they provide for my mother in law. Everyone is welcoming, friendly and genuinely cares. The activities and meals are wonderful. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for a safe, caring and supportive environment for a loved one. Thank you to the entire team for everything you do.

Very happy with the service

I am extremely pleased that I chose Hollyfields to care for my Mum. She is treated with kindness, dignity and respect by all members of staff. She now requires a higher level of nursing care and in my opinion, the nursing team are exceptional. Every member of staff are always willing to talk to relatives/friends, and I never feel like I am inconveniencing them. I am always greeted with a cheery smile from everyone I see.

The standard of care at Hollyfields Kidderminster was absolutely excellent , it was clear that the team treats all the residents with genuine care and interest. They were very accommodating to my mother with preferences and helped her to settle in far more smoothly than we anticipated during my mother's 3 weeks of respite in march 2026 . The staff dealt with medical concern efficiently and professionally . The team never got frustrated and only ever treated my mother with kindness .The care home was very clean and welcoming and a homely atmosphere , would highly recommend .

I couldn't recommend Hollyfields enough. It's such a HUGE decision finding a perfect care home for a loved one, but I can hand on my heart 100% recommend them. They went above & beyond for my Dad, who was end of life. The care & compassion they showed both my Dad & our family, I will never forget. The home itself is welcoming, clean, warm & feels homely. The staff are welcoming, friendly and nothing we asked was too much trouble. I can't thank you all enough for everything you did for us all at such a heartbreaking time.

My Dad stayed in Hollyfields for a short time for respite care following a fall at home resulting in a broken hip. When Dad was transferred from a Local Authority Care Home, he was probably at the lowest I have seen him. The staff at Hollyfields were amazing in looking after him and building him back up. Nothing was too much trouble, staff were kind, caring and responsive. The catering team were fantastic, catering to his needs by offering meals that he would prefer to menu. He felt valued as a person and enjoyed his chats with all the staff. After coming home he said he enjoyed his stay there,, we were very happy with the level of care he received during his stay.

Quite happy with the staff and care provided. Good communication. Excellent manager, very friendly and responsive.

I would not recommend sending a loved one to Barchester Hollyfields Care Home for end-of-life/palliative care. Issues were not dealt with in a professional manner, in fact, they were usually denied and told that our brother was "confused" when he had full mental capacity. In the final weeks of his life, he had an infection for which medical attention was not sought. He also had a bed sore, which was completely avoidable with proper care. We found the manager to be lacking in any genuine empathy when we needed support. Most of the staff were lovely and kind, sadly this was overshadowed by the negative aspects we experienced.

Dad was transferred to Hollyfields on Saturday 6th July am, from a hospital setting. The transfer notes apparently were not great. The home manager and support staff quickly sorted our problems by calling the duty doctor who prescribed suitable medication. During the very short time Dad was there, he was treated with respect and great kindness. We couldn't have wished for a better setting for his last few days. (Dad was unable to take part in activities).

As a family, we are very grateful and thank all the staff who make it possible.

My uncle was a resident at this amazing facility. The staff who cared for him during his final days were incredible. They cared for his every need, made him comfortable and supported the family through this hard time. The carers and nurses should take great pride in their job as they worked so hard to look after my uncle. Can't speak highly enough of the place. Thank you for everything you did.
