I have now stayed at Hollyfields on two occasions for one week’s duration each time. The first time my wife stayed overlong when she left me, so I became anxious, which unsettled me but only for the first day. I quickly settled and was well looked after by the kind and caring staff. I met other residents
and enjoyed their company. I had a lovely ensuite room with country views and excellent facilities. In all, I felt very welcome indeed. There was a pretty garden to sit in and a trip out to the local town for afternoon tea, which I enjoyed very much indeed. When I left to come home, I had a wonderful send-off from residents and staff. My second visit was even more special as I recognised the facilities, the staff and the residents I had met previously. I felt at home immediately. The anxiety of my family as to how I would experience respite has been removed, thanks to the exceptional welcome, care and facilities I have experienced at Hollyfields.

I have been a regular visitor to Barchester during the time my sister and her husband have been residents. I have always found the staff extremely helpful and efficient in the duties they carry out. The rooms are always clean and tidy, and the residents are looked after often above the call of duty.
The food always looks well prepaid. I would therefore have no hesitation in recommending Barchester.

The staff were very welcoming when we arrived. They helped me and my daughter over the initial upset of putting my husband into the home and always came to talk with us as well as settle my husband into his room and surroundings. They took very good care of him.

The celebration on valentines day exceeded all expectations. The standard of food was worthy of a three-star hotel! (The braised lamb, the best we had ever tasted)! No effort was spared by the staff in making residents and guests feel at home on a day when all other duties had to be carried out normally.

From start to finish, the staff have gone above and beyond. I have seen how they treat their residents with love, care and respect. I cannot praise the staff on every level enough. Their kindness and care for mom was exceptional. She was treated with dignity and respect right up until she passed away. We were also supported throughout moms final days which made her passing more bearable for us. Thank you, everyone.

Staff and care exceed all of my expectations regarding my brother's needs. Visiting family make so very welcome and he is treated as though part of a family. My mom and stepdad were admitted to Hollyfields following an emergency at home. Following the initial call to the general manager, she dealt with our crisis in the most professional and understanding manner. Our needs and those of mom and stepdad were treated with respect. During the week of respite
care, the staff at the home were wonderful and deserve full praise.
An extremely distressing situation was made so much less so by the care that we provided. Thank you

My aunt was in Hollyfields for over two years and over that period we found the staff to be extremely caring towards my aunt and our family. They preserved my aunts' dignity at all times. We can't say enough good things about Hollyfields as they are so caring, helpful and compassionate under very demanding

I would like to thank all the staff for all they did to care for our very good friend and for keeping our memories alive over the last few years. I had emails from the manager weekly to tell us how our friend was, and that her and her staff were sharing memory books and postcards with her. Also that
they were passing on our love as visiting was stopped with Covid restrictions but the staff did help us keep contact by What's App calls. You all did a fabulous job and we know she was looked after and for that, we will always be truly grateful.

The staff are very good on explaining everything that is needed, what will happen through my Dads stay. You can phone at any time they will always be happy to tell you what is happening and to answer questions. They gave me peace of mind to leave him and have my holiday without any worries.

Wow, what a testing time we have all found ourselves within. Living in a world governed by covid. We were already hugely adjusting to life with our dearly loved grandad, dad and husband living within a care home permanently, then covid struck and made us all feel even more removed. However, Barchester
Hollyfields decided this was not to be the case, they did and have done and are doing everything within their power to keep us all as connected as possible. We've had a beautiful picture sent, showing us our loved one is safe and well, video calls, garden visits, window visits and brilliant communication from management over our dear relatives' wellbeing and updates. This has greatly eased our minds during such a difficult time. They even managed to celebrate our relative becoming a great grandad and set up beautiful balloons and banners for an emotional video call. We've sent cards, items and postcards at times that have been safely quarantined and then shared with our loved ones. Thank you all.

Ivy House is an amazing place. My Dad celebrated his 80th Birthday yesterday and due to Covid I could not be with him properly to celebrate. I was, however, granted an additional garden visit so I could see him on this special day. The staff supported him to open his presents, sang happy birthday and
arranged for a special tea with a birthday cake. The staff are amazing and I am in awe of their patience and kindness to Dad, at all times.

For the area, I believe Hollyfields is the best in regards to looking after my dad and his condition. The staff are very friendly, and I feel that my dad is in good hands.
The activities they get up to look fantastic, especially over Christmas (the silent disco was amazing and made a great atmosphere).
I'd
like to add how good they have been during this pandemic, being able to see my dad through video calls, which they've arranged is very comforting in making sure he's ok.

Alison Moseley-Shaw

Job Title: Acting senior General Manager Joined: 2022

My journey in Healthcare began in 2004 when I graduated with a BSC (Hons) qualification. I started my career on an NHS ward, where I gained invaluable experience and honed my skills in patient care. Over time, I transitioned my skills into medical education, expanding my knowledge and expertise.


In 2016, I decided to explore new opportunities in private healthcare and accepted a role as Deputy Ward Manager. This experience allowed me to further develop my leadership abilities while continuing to prioritise the well-being of patients.


In 2022, I made the transition into a nursing home, taking on the role of Deputy Manager. Here, my passion for the well-being of both residents and staff truly flourished. It was a privilege to contribute to creating a supportive and nurturing environment for all.


In 2023, I was honoured to be promoted to General Manager, a role that allows me to lead with compassion and dedication. My commitment to the well-being of residents and staff remains at the forefront of everything I do, driving me to continually strive for excellence in care provision.


Outside of work, I'm a proud mum to four wonderful grown-up children and step-mum to two younger children. Family means everything to me and I cherish the time we spend together. Being a Nanna to two wonderful grandsons brings me immense joy, and I treasure every moment with them.


In my free time, I love nothing more than going on holidays with my husband. Whether it's exploring new destinations or returning to our favourite spots, I find immense happiness in discovering new cultures, cuisines and experiences. Travelling allows me to unwind, recharge, and create lifelong memories.

Hello, my name is Rebecca Chelin. Originally from South Africa, I embarked on my nursing journey in 2012, specialising in oncology. With a passion for providing compassionate care, I transitioned to the UK in 2019, eager to continue to make a difference in the lives of others. Since joining the Hollyfields team in 2023, I've had the privilege of serving as a dedicated nurse, and I'm honoured to have been promoted to the role of Deputy Manager in 2024.


Outside of work, I find joy in being a mother to two wonderful boys, who continually inspire me to strive for excellence. In my leisure time, I indulge in my love for travel and immerse myself in the captivating world of literature.

After a while, I took on the home trainer role and completed my teaching qualification and assessors award (A1) and dementia specialist training. Then I got promoted to Team leader. I have also carried out the duties as an admin assistant within my time at Barchester. I was unit lead at Ivy House for 2 years. I have my level 2 and 3 in care.


I love my job and I am very passionate when it comes to care and looking after people. I am very committed to the delivery of high standards of care to our residents. As the Hollyfields home administrator, I look after all the financial aspects relating to running this beautiful home.

My name is Sarah Finch and I am the Head Chef here at Hollyfields. I started my career with Barchester as a Care Assistant and worked my way up to Head Chef eventually. I have my NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery.


I cater to the needs of residents, adhering to all dietary requirements, and compiling nutritious menus based on their likes and dislikes.


I have a good team that works alongside me, including my Second Chef, and a team of trained Kitchen Assistants who have helped maintain the highest score (5) for our food hygiene inspections over the past few years.
