My mother in law came to Elderwood for respite after being in hospital. The turnaround in her has been remarkable, she is now eating well, walking with her frame, and socialising with the other residents. The care provided by all the staff has been exemplary. All of the above has resulted in her deciding to become a permanent resident.

Mum needed extra care for her dementia and we were so impressed from the first moment we went to visit. Exceptional care from all staff, food is balanced and excellent, the whole of the building is clean, beautifully decorated and fits the needs of the residents perfectly. There are always staff on hand to ask questions and they definitely go above and beyond for the residents. Their communication with us has been very good. Activities are varied and frequent. Have. I mentioned the daily cake and coffee in the reception area?

The staff here are incredible, I am yet to meet one that doesn't give 10/10! The cakes are to die for. The activities they put on are like nowhere else. It has a lovely welcoming feel and ALL the receptionists are absolutely incredible! My only negative is the smell of the Cathedral Square when you go upstairs. It really does hit you when you get upstairs and I'm sure it shouldn't smell that bad but hopefully something they can rectify. Otherwise it's 5 star!

Everyone here is so helpful and very kind. The patience shown is incredible, the work done with love. The atmosphere is so incredibly loving and everyone genuinely interested in your welfare, both mental and physical.

We are impressed by every aspect of the care home and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Mum has come in for Restbite and it feel more like a hotel the care has been second to none we are amazed at the verity and quality of the food also. Mums appetite has definitely improved. I'm thinking of trying to put my name down for the future.

Staff very helpful, and home very clean. Mum is 92 and her health is up & down, but is looked after very well and contacted if there is any issues.

The food is always great & she always finished her food, keep up the good work, we are so grateful for you all thankyou.

The fish & chips were fantastic with delicious crispy batter , which my mum loves so a huge Thankyou to the talented chefs Joe & Stephen & all the wonderful staff who made this occasion possible .

My relative was moved here after a bad experiance in his previous care home. I can not begin to describe how amazing the care is here. Always clean and prompted to be the best he can be. All the staff show a genuine care and love for each of the residence here. Placing your loved one in a home is never a nice/happy experience but I am so happy with where he is now. Always updated on daily activities and any accidents which occur. Best care home by far.

Friston House is clean, tidy, with excellent food and choices. Nothing is too much trouble

Shorts Terrace is very friendly staff. Any queries they answer. Always helping. Lovely seeing tortoise Percy. Lovely having a sing song. Staff are open & honest
