My mother sadly passed away in Friston House five days ago having lived there for three and half years. I have never regretted using the home. I found all staff without exception, to have compassion and treat Mum with care, love, dignity and affection
It is a well run home and manage to employ exactly the right staff.

The activities team try to give residents varied activities and think "outside the box". The food also is excellent with lots of variety. Even in death Mum and us relatives were treated with dignity and compassion -> Thank you Friston House.

My dad was at Friston for the last 8 weeks after a stay in hospital. He was looked after so well and he improved during his stay there. The staff were always kind, helpful and attentive. The facilities for residents and thier relatives were amazing. He didnt get to experience the activities himself as he was mostly bed bound but i could see they always have stuff going on for the residents. The food was delicious, i even booked in to have lunch with my dad. The home itself was always clean and tidy and we was always welcomed with a smile. A truly lovely care home.

Dad was a resident at Friston House for 18 months before he sadly passed away.
During that time he was shown excellent care, dignity & compassion. We were supported as a family too with understanding & empathy.

It was a difficult decision to come to terms with a realising that Dad could no longer stay in his own home. We are so pleased that we chose Friston House staff to take care of him. The staff there became part of our family too. They always strive to do their very best. No hesitation to recommend Friston House.

Recently Mum was unwell & needed an urgent respite stay for her husband who she cares for full time. From the moment I phoned Friston House late on a Sunday night to make a frantic enquiry, we felt there was a hope & help on the horizon. The Manager called me on Monday morning & by Tuesday afternoon he moved in.
When I visited, I was not surprised to see he was unsettled, I know this is common for people living with Dementia. What I found enormously reassuring was seeing how staff interacted with him, knew his name, took time to stop & chat, offered their arm to walk him down the corridor. On the day he was coming home, I sat in the dining room during lunch. He ate soup, a chickpea curry & a big portion of apple crumble & custard. He rarely finishes a sandwich.

Making the decision to place a loved one into care is daunting, emotional & frankly not cheap. But this was worth so much more than money, it meant Mum could recuperate & for a brief time prioritise her own health & rest needs.

My sister, Janette, has been in Friston House since 20/12/25 after being in hospital since September '25 and nhs rehabilitation. The decision to self fund for one month, whilst negotiating with social services, was banked on Janettes stay there from 20/01/25 until 5/05/25, again self funded, whilst a very long wait for a social worker to be appointed. This happened April '25, she was sat her 5/05/25 and back in hospital 10/5/25. A very poor decision on the part of social worker. Janette is happy here.

Right from the moment I walked through the door you are made to feel at home, greeted with smiles and happy greetings. The home is well lit, warm and clean. The lounges are inviting and very comfortable. Residents have happy faces, there are activities for those who can and want to join in saw (singing musical & children to sing). Wherever you walk through is clean, tidy and looking beautiful, lots of pictures and ornaments to feel homely. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff, they know residents by name and shown concern & empathy when talking with them. When in the dining area (drinking lovely coffee and tasting delicious cake) at lunch time the residents were made to feel welcome, encouraged to eat/drink. I am blown away by the love, kindness, care, empathy shown by all staff. My mum is clean, warm, loved & cared for. Thank-you.

Hi, I’m Tracy. I am proud to share that I have dedicated the past ten years of my career to working at Friston. During this time, I have developed both personally and professionally, progressing through a number of rewarding roles within the organisation.

I began my journey at Friston as a Healthcare Assistant (HCA). In this role, I was committed to delivering high-quality care, ensuring the dignity, safety, and wellbeing of those we support. Working directly with patients and alongside the teams allowed me to build strength, resilience, and a deep understanding of person-centred care.

Through hard work and dedication, I progressed into the role of Team Leader. This position enabled me to further develop my leadership abilities, supporting and supervising staff, coordinating care, and ensuring that high standards were consistently maintained. I take pride in mentoring colleagues, promoting teamwork, and contributing to a positive and professional working environment.

I now proudly serve as a Speak Up Champion. In this role, I stand for openness, transparency, and a culture where staff feel safe and empowered to raise concerns or share ideas. I am passionate about an environment built on trust and mutual respect, where every voice matters. My ten years at Friston reflect my commitment to growth, leadership, and maintaining excellence in care. I am grateful for the opportunities I have had and remain dedicated to upholding the values and standards of the organisation.
