I am so pleased with the care that my Nan, Anne has received at Friston. The home is beautifully decorated and the staff are incredibly friendly. My Nan settled into the home with such ease and its always so welcoming when I would visit her. The home runs smoothly and the general manager is very professional
and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this home and I am so pleased my Nan has called this home, her home.

Right from the moment I walked through the door you are made to feel at home, greeted with smiles and happy greetings. The home is well lit, warm and clean. The lounges are inviting and very comfortable. Residents have happy faces, there are activities for those who can and want to join in saw (singing
musical & children to sing). Wherever you walk through is clean, tidy and looking beautiful, lots of pictures and ornaments to feel homely. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff, they know residents by name and shown concern & empathy when talking with them. When in the dining area (drinking lovely coffee and tasting delicious cake) at lunch time the residents were made to feel welcome, encouraged to eat/drink. I am blown away by the love, kindness, care, empathy shown by all staff. My mum is clean, warm, loved & cared for. Thank-you.

When my wife was brought in on a stretcher she was met by several smiling, competent staff who immediatly made her welcome. After weeks of not being washed or kept tidy in hospital on the first day she was showered and just made to feel so much better. Her mental condition is deteriorating but the
staff do so much to try and stimulate her. A member of staff brings food in to try and get her to sit and drink. Their patience and care is wonderful. I am so grateful to all the staff at this home, I cannot thank you enough.
Reply from Ana Pasoi, General Manager at Barchester Friston House Care HomeDear Graham,
Thank you sincerely for your incredibly kind and moving feedback. It means a great deal to hear that your wife was met with warmth, smiles, and reassurance from the moment she arrived, and that the care she received on her first day helped her feel clean, comfortable, and valued again.
Your recognition of the staff's patience, compassion, and determination to support her wellbeing, stimulation, and nutrition is deeply appreciated. The team work very hard to provide dignified, person-centred care, and your words are a powerful reminder of the difference this makes to residents and their families.
I will ensure your feedback is shared with all staff, as it will be extremely encouraging and rewarding for them to hear. Thank you again for your trust and for taking the time to express your gratitude.

A member of staff recommended this care home. I was worried at first as my Dad was in assisted living accommodation. He came straight from hospital. As soon as he arrived staff came out to us and put me at ease straight away. We always feel very welcomed and I know my Dad is being cared for. I can now
be a son again and not a carer.
Reply from Ana Pasoi, General Manager at Barchester Friston House Care HomeThank you for sharing your thoughtful review. We understand how big a transition it can be when a loved one moves from assisted living or hospital care into a residential home, and we are so pleased to hear that our team were able to reassure you from the moment your dad arrived. Creating a supportive, welcoming environment for both residents and families is at the heart of what we do.
It's lovely to hear that you feel confident in the care your dad is receiving and that this has allowed you to return to your role as a son rather than a carer. That is exactly the type of peace of mind we aim to provide. Thank you again for your kind words-please know that we are always here should you ever need anything.

No care home, no matter how extravagant it is, is a nice place to be BUT its the staff that help and make it bearable, with the reality that it is. All staff members on the second floor work extremely hard, from cleaning to personal care, their work load is relentless but I am always greeted with a
smile and updated with my mothers daily health and eating progress. The Nurses are always willing to answer any questions and put my mind at rest. More Health Care Assistants would be an advantage as their time is limited.

All the staff at Friston House are always polite and courteous and have the residents needs at the forefront. They always greet residents by their name with a smile.

I do strongly feel that the residents would definitely benefit from a couple of extra members of staff who would be able to give their

time to 'just chat and be present with the residents who need just a friendly reassuring face and be given guidance as to "what is happening " / "where am I"/"what can I do" / "where do I need to go"??? Health care assistants on shift don't have the time or capacity to do this. They need to be primarily working on personal care.

Thank you for providing a good service keeping our loved ones safe and cared for

Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Ana Pasoi

Job Title: General Manager Joined: 2019

I’m Ana, the General Manager at Friston House and a passionate, dedicated nurse with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care. I’ve been a Registered Nurse since 2016 and have worked with Barchester since May 2019-a journey I’ve truly enjoyed and one that has allowed me to grow both personally and professionally.

Throughout my career, I’ve always been driven by a deep desire to make a real difference in people’s lives. My nursing background gives me a strong clinical foundation, but it’s my passion for leadership that allows me to support my team in delivering the best possible care. I believe in creating an environment where residents feel safe, respected, and truly at home, and where staff feel valued, supported, and empowered to do their best.
At Friston House, I work closely with a skilled multidisciplinary team to ensure that every aspect of care is tailored to each resident’s individual needs and preferences. Whether it’s supporting people with complex nursing needs or enhancing daily life through meaningful interactions, my goal is always to maintain the highest standards of care and dignity.
Leading Friston House is a privilege. I take great pride in building strong relationships with residents, families, and staff-and in fostering a culture of warmth, integrity, and excellence that truly reflects what great care should look like.
