Overall Experience

Mum has been a resident of Westergate House for several years now, and I have nothing but praise for the wonderful staff of this care home. They consistently provide care at the highest level with compassion and humour, and I am happy to give the home a 5-star rating.

Overall Experience

The best decision I made when it came to my Mum's care was placing her in the care of the team at Westergate. It was clear every time I visited that my mum was really well looked after and loved by the whole team. As a family we too, were welcomed and cared for when we visited and in those last three

weeks of my mum's life, I and my family, were treated so well it made her passing bearable. I knew she was in the right place.

Overall Experience

I have been visiting Westlake for approximately 3 years as a veteran, my friend also a veteran became a resident in 2025. He spoke highly of his care and general welbeing at the home. I have found the staff to be nothing other than supportive & friendly during my visits.

Overall Experience

My father spent a year at Westergate Nursing home due to his dementia and nursing needs, he sadly passed away in December
For the duration of his stay and especially my fathers final days, the staff cared and supported my father with such kindness and empathy
Not only did they care for my father,

they also supported me throughout the year
The communication from the staff was excellent.
I would like to thank all the staff, for all the care and support they gave my father, I will be forever grateful

Am rather disabled and have found staff amazingly accommodating in this respect. Plenty of tolerance also. Building lovely and clean always plenty of activities to join in with. Lovely venue & staff cannot find fault with anything.

Overall Experience

A very nice home with the feel of a private country hotel. The staff are very kind and thoughtful and tend to not miss small details which makes all the difference to the care they provide. I would strongly recommend this particular nursing home.

Overall Experience

Mum was in home for 13 months.
Very well geared for residents with dementia. Slightly harder for those without dementia to find like minded people to engage with., but soon made friends
Activities geared mainly to those with dementia. But always trying to offer a variety of activities
Staff

excellent became friends. Was always treated with dignity.
The food was not of the same quality as when first admitted, eg to much pepper used, making food not enjoyable.
Rooms on the whole were clean but on a few occasions the en-suite toilet was not clean.
Visitors were always very welcome.

Overall Experience

My husband joined the community in September following a fall and a two week stay in hospital. The nurses and carers spent time with him giving him reassurance that he was now in a safe and caring environment. The home has a calm atmosphere and the residents are treated as individuals by the friendly

staff. Visitors are always made welcome . There is a comprehensive activity programme taking into account all levels of ability. Frequent reminiscence therapy sessions take place.
From my experience I can recommend Westergate House.

Overall Experience

My Mum with Alzheimers has been living at Red Oaks since January this year. She absolutely loves it and regularly tells us how happy she is in this phase of her life. After a few tricky years living on her own at home she has now got her confidence back. She is cheerful, 'busy' with activities and has

a great relationship with all the staff. She particularly enjoys the weekly community choir and any entertainment where she can dance - something she hasn't done for years!
She's made good friends with residents and staff alike and is being very well looked after.
She loves the food (and the chefs!) and has a beautiful, light room to relax in when she is tired.
We've been nothing but impressed with Red Oaks and knowing she is now safe and happy is such a relief.

I am really pleased that Mum chose Redoaks. Whenever I visit I can see that she is very well looked after with kindness and dignity. It is so reassuring that she is very happy, safe and contented. Overall Experience

My husband moved into Westergate House about eighteen months ago, & has settled really well. He has dementia & requires nursing care. He has improved since being in Westergate House & I know he is happy, due entirely to the care he is getting which is exemplary. The carers go way and beyond. They are

all so kind, patient & caring. He enjoys his food ; the quality & presentation is outstanding.
We enjoyed a delicious family lunch with him in the conservatory to celebrate his birthday, & the chef & his team were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble & our lunch was superb, all wonderfully served to us.
I visit often & I am made to feel so welcome, whatever the time.
I would highly recommend Westergate House & I really couldn't wish for a better care home for my husband.

My Gran resides at Westergate House and on Friday we took her out to attend a funeral. When we returned to the nursing home, as we drove in, my Gran said "home sweet home". It was heartwarming to hear her say this and reinforces that we made the right decision to choose this home for her. We viewed

4 different homes and this is by far the best. Knowing she is so happy living at Westergate House and that she considers it her home is wonderful. Thank you to all the staff for your care, hard work and dedication and for making my Gran so happy in her home.

Overall Experience

My parents have been resident at Westergate House for just over a year. My 94yr old father arrived in a sorry state following a 6 month stay in hospital. His improvement has been absolutely remarkable due to the 1st class care he's received. The staff are very friendly, kind & caring & nothing is too

much trouble. The food is delicious, with both parents' birthdays being celebrated there, with family present. Entertainment is first class, & the trips out. My mother is resident in Memory Land & every effort is made for both parents to spend time together. They are both very happy at WH.

In a year of residence my husband has received excellent personal care and nursing. All staff at Red Oaks are kind and caring and do their utmost to ensure the well being, dignety and welfare of all residents.

Overall Experience

When my father was discharged from the hospital I shortlisted a few nursing homes which had the best CQC ratings. I visited them all and Red Oaks was by far the best. It has impressive grounds, a lovely courtyard and lounge area, the rooms are well-equipped and maintained and comfortable and the food

is really good. But the main difference is the team that they have. They really have invested in their people and without exception they are engaged and caring people who really looked after my father. His floor have a team of nurses, care practitioners and care assistants, all of whom are professional but also delightful, helpful and genuinely caring.
The difference was when it came to the inevitable. I can't thank the team enough for all their care and affection and it is heartwarming to know he was made so comfortable in the final stages. A really top nursing home is all about 'the team' and they have created the right atmosphere for their staff to work and residents to live.
