From the moment my Mum moved into the care home in April, we couldn't be happier with the care and support she has received. Every member of staff has been so kind, friendly, and welcoming from day one, making the transition much easier for all of us. I cared for mum at home for eight years, and while it was the right thing to do, moving her here has allowed us to build an even better relationship. Instead of being her full-time carer I can now simply enjoy being her daughter again, knowing she's safe, happy, and receiving the best possible care. The staff are like one big family. They genuinely care about the residents and do so much to keep them happy, comfortable and engaged. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and they always go the extra mile with kindness and compassion. I can't thank the whole team enough for everything they do. I would not hesitate to recommend this wonderful care home
Thank you so much for your kind words, we will share your feedback with the team. We are so happy to have you and mum as part of our family.
I had 2 weeks respite care at Marriott House & Lodge Chichester after a cancer operation in March 2026. I found the staff friendly, cheerful, polite & courteous Experienced in their roles. I was given excellent care & shown every kindness, consideration & encouragement. My visitors were made welcome, offered refreshments & invited to stay for a meal. The carers' skills were many & varied - all carried out with confidence & good humour. My stay enabled me to be in a better physical condition after my operation & gave my husband some respite too. Thank you!
Thank you very much for taking the time to provide us with your kind review, it was a pleasure to have you stay with us. Our best regards to you and your husband, we hope to see you in the near future for one of our upcoming events over the summer.
My mum continues to be very well looked after by all the staff. Her relationships with the staff are helping her to enjoy her days more and more. Being gently encouraged to engage with other residents and in the programme of activities has been a successful approach with my mother. After enjoying a good Christmas period, the new year has started very well. As always, the staff are very friendly and approachable to me.
Thank you for your lovely review. We will relay your message to the team as well.
I would like to say when mum had the flu, they looked after her well, got antibiotics for chest infection. Also it was her birthday last week and she had a lovely day, even only wore hat long enough for photo. Thank you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to complete a review for Marriott House, feedback is so important. Really pleased to see that you have awarded 4 stars to all of the elements above. Heart warming to hear that mum had a lovely day for her birthday too. Once again, thank you for your feedback and review.
Food was great. Staff very obliging and amienable - wonderful!
Rooms should have end suits including shower plus larger
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review. I am really pleased to see that we were able to meet your needs with the additional equipment. I will pass on the comments with regard to rooms and ensuite facilities. I was also pleased to see that you rated our food to be 4 stars and most...
From first enquiry to my wife being delivered back home after a fortnites respite, all the staff you meet are warm and welcoming and all offer help.
Thank you so much for your kind words, we look forward to seeing you again soon. With Best Wishes from Terry and the Team.
Disgusting care, a virtual assistance technology device was stolen with hardly any investigation. Nan left to sit downstairs in her wheelchair which was so uncomfortable for her; her toilet excrement left in a bucket in her bedroom to add up all day (absolutely stank!). Various other issues, never had her alarm bell around her neck, i saw this maybe once in 9 months. Only good thing is the food was delicious.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We're sorry for the experience your Nan had with our Marriott House & Lodge Care Home. We have spoken with the General Manager and a full investigation was completed into all concerns raised during your Nan's time with the home and meeting took place to...
At all times during my stay I had excellant service from all the nursing staff & the other staff - kitchen - infact ALL staff.
Thank you David for taking the time to complete these survey. I am pleased that you had a great stay with us at Marriott, and your score means so much to us.
My wife was there for a rest bite.
Clean tidy room, great facilities.
If my wife requires more time away, we will definitely be using this care home again.
Thank you.
Thank you so much for your lovely review, I will ensure that your comments are passed to the team.
Since mum came here in August 2024, I have been impressed and moved by the loving, caring, kind natures of the staff. I never lose sleep because Mum is here in Marriott House. The atmosphere is friendly and I enjoy coming to see Mum. Staff are always welcoming and smiling. My mum is appreciated as the fun character she is.
Thank you for your kind words, I will ensure that these are passed on to the team.
My sister is currently living in Marriott - she initially stayed for a period of respite and is now permanent. The care is of a very high standard and they try very hard to encourage her. The manager has been very supportive and keeps myself and the family informed.
Thank you for your kind words, I will ensure that your comments are passed to all the team.

I brought my aunt here two years ago and I cannot fault it in any way. She has been happy, well looked after and has enjoyed the last years of her life. The staff have always been delightful both to me and to my aunt. They keep me well informed and are always so kind. They actually truly care about their residents, a rarity these days. The food is amazing, fantastic activities and I was able to video call my aunt weekly as I was living in Portugal! All I can say is thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you so much for your review, your aunt was resident ambassador and is truly missed by us all. With best wishes from Nikki and the team at Marriott House and Lodge.
We have visited here for the last two years and cannot fault the care our friend has received. The staff are so friendly and kind. The lodge is always very clean and tidy. The food is always very tasty. There is always something going on and the residents always seem happy. The residents are also clean and tidy. The staff always offer to help and fetch drinks for us.
Thank you so much for your lovely review, I will make sure your comments are passed to the team. With best wishes from all at Marriott House and Lodge.

Whenever I visit, I always feel very welcome, the staff are always very friendly and helpful, there is always a very happy atmosphere and the residents always look happy and well cared for with lots of activities for the residents. The manager and her team are to be congratulated on their level of care.

I'm impressed by the care given to my mother who has not found the transition easy. She's always well groomed, well dressed, the food is excellent. The staff are patient and cheerful.
Thank you for your kind words about our home and sharing your experience. We appreciate your thoughts. Thank you for such a wonderful review of our home.
Our 93-year-old mother moved to the residential lodge in January 2024 and since that time, we have seen great improvements in her physical health, well-being and happiness. The staff at Barchester Marriott House & Lodge maintain a professional, calm approach to their work which benefits all the residents. The in-house chef cooks meals and all-day refreshments are delivered in healthy, sensibly sized portions, to a varied menu choice. Outdoor activities take advantage of the beautifully maintained gardens with plenty of spaces for quiet family get-togethers. Located at the old Westgate side of Chichester, it's only a short walk to the cathedral and city centre for shopping, restaurants and park visits. A gem of a care home in a fabulous location.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review of our home. We take great pride in delivering exceptional care and comfort to all of our residents and friends/family. We are so pleased that you have noticed the improvement in your family member, thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.

Meet the Team (21)

With 8 years of experience as a registered nurse, all being within primary care, I look forward to my new role as Operations Manager for Barchester.
My clinical background gives me a unique perspective on operational decisions, ensuring patient care and staff support remain top priorities.
Outside of work, I am an avid reader who enjoys diving into everything from leadership development to fiction. I love to travel the world with my family and encompass all the different cultures we encounter into both my personal and professional journey.

Hello, my name is Mark Anthony Serrano, and I am the Senior nurse at Marriott and Lodge, I have over 16 years of nursing experience including working for the NHS.
Apart from the nursing profession, my passions are cooking and sports.
Working in a diverse and multifaceted medical industry has thought me how to value and appreciate collaborative and patient-centred care. As the new nurse on the block, I am striving on learning new things, create lasting memories and continue my life goal of redefining patient-centred care.

Hello, my name is Rudo and I have been part of the clinical team at Marriott House and Lodge since 2005. I am the clinical lead at Marriott House.
I initially joined as a senior carer after previously being a nurse/midwife in my home town of Zambia.
I studied and completed my Mental Health Nursing at the University of Brighton and obtained a BSc Hons in 2014.
I enjoy every aspect of my role here at Marriott and I get huge joy and satisfaction from helping our residents.

I have worked at Marriott House and Lodge for over 18 years in a variety of roles.
I began my Barchester journey as a Night Care Assistant in 2000. Through completing care qualifications, I progressed to Senior Care Assistant and, more recently, I have also adopted the responsibilities of a Care Practitioner as well. I have also been involved in activities within the home and have led the Activities Team for many years. I have completed many training courses through the Barchester Healthcare Training Academy, which have further enhanced my skills in a range of areas, including, care, activities and providing training. I now share my time between being a Care Practitioner and leading the Activities Team.
Leading the Activities Team means that I work with a group of staff and volunteers to provide activities for the residents that help to keep them active and stimulated. My duties include planning events for residents and their families, organising day-to-day activities, arranging outings, and offering residents that very crucial one-to-one time. I work closely with local groups, meaning that Marriott House & Lodge remains a key part of the local community with regular visitors who offer support to families and friends.
I am currently enjoying the role of Administrator. A job role I have been involved with for many years.
I am very much involved in the ‘whole home approach’ regarding the care we provide as a care home; my hands-on approach allows me to work closely with all members of the team and help them to develop their skills.
Dignity in care is a particular area that I am always keen to promote within the home and I believe that we can all enhance the lives of residents.

Hi. My name is Clara, I joined the Administration team at Marriott House and Lodge in October 2021. It’s a pleasure to support our residents and to greet their families and friends at the door when they arrive at the Reception. I have worked in various administrative roles both in the UK and overseas for the last 8 years and I feel proud and fortunate to be a part of the team at Marriott House and Lodge. In my spare time, I study the English language at university and teach English as a second language online. I also enjoy netball.

Hi my name is Kate, I am a Care Practitioner here at Marriott House and Lodge. I have worked at Marriott House for over 20 years and in that time I have worked my way up from a carer to the care practitioner role.
The Barchester Training Academy has helped me further my career; I completed my NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care with them and I am also a qualified NVQ assessor.
I support the nurses here to ensure that care is delivered with dignity and respect, putting our residents at the centre of the support that we provide, with a guarantee that they can continue to live their lives in the way they wish.
I am also the speak-up champion for the home I act as a voice for colleagues to express their ideas, and develop new ways of working and a pathway for them to report concerns. I regularly meet with the manager to discuss the running of the home from the colleague's perspective.

My name is Christina. I have worked at Marriott House and Lodge for many years! I have many years of experience in the Care industry. I am responsible for the day-to-day running of Marriott Lodge.
I take pride in looking after the residents' day-to-day requirements and well-being while also managing the care team. Quality of care is always my top priority, and I see my role as ensuring this is delivered in every single way.
In my spare time, I enjoy attending my local church, reading, helping and spending time with my friends and family

Hello, my name is Tania. I am the Head Housekeeper at Marriot House and Lodge. After 20 years of working in children’s residential homes, I made the move to adult homes and have not looked back. I really enjoy working at Marriot House and Lodge, chatting and singing with residents, and joining creative activities and quizzes. I take great pride in my team's work keeping both the House and Lodge clean and homely.

With over 20 years of culinary experience across fine dining, award-winning gastropubs and owner-operated restaurants, I am thrilled to be joining the team at Marriott House and Lodge as Head Chef.
My background — from near-Michelin-standard kitchens to large-scale catering — has given me a deep appreciation for food that is both technically excellent and genuinely meaningful to the people eating it. I believe every mealtime should feel special, and I look forward to bringing creativity, care and high standards to the residents of Marriott House every day.
Outside of work, I love a game of pool and enjoy singing, so if anyone fancies a duet or a challenge at the table, you know where to find me!

Hello, my name is Matt and I am the Head of Maintenance and Health and Safety Champion at Marriott House and Lodge.
I have worked at the home since 2014, initially in the kitchen and housekeeping teams before moving to the maintenance team. I have headed up the maintenance department since 2023.
My aim is to provide our residents, staff and visitors with a comfortable building, and surroundings they can feel safe and happy in at all times.

I began my career in care in 2017 and, aside from taking five years away to raise my family, I have dedicated my working life to the healthcare sector. Caring for others has always been my passion, and I feel incredibly privileged to support our residents every day.
What brings me the greatest joy is seeing our residents happy. I believe that every resident, regardless of their condition or abilities—whether they are independent and active or bed-bound and unable to communicate—deserves the same love, dignity, respect and opportunities for meaningful life enrichment every single day.
One thing I have always strived for in my role is to ensure our residents don’t simply feel like they are living in a care home, but that Marriott House feels like both a home and a place where every day brings the enjoyment, comfort and excitement of a holiday. I aim to create experiences that bring smiles, encourage connection and ensure every resident feels valued, included and able to live life to the fullest.

Mandy joined the Marriott House family 25 years ago, working in a variety of roles, including Care Assistant, Care Practitioner, and, over recent years, as our wonderful Second Chef!

Mandy successfully completed her HM Government Apprenticeship as a Commis Chef Level 2 with distinction in June 2025, and we could not be more proud of her well-deserved achievements.

As a Senior Carer, Maggie’s attentiveness and organised nature shine through in everything she does. She takes great pride in ensuring our residents feel comfortable, supported, and truly cared for each and every day. Her warm smile and positive attitude brighten up the home.
Outside of work, Maggie loves to travel and spend time with her family back home in beautiful Portugal.
We’re so grateful for Maggie’s dedication and warmth she brings to Marriott House and Lodge.

She knows our residents inside and out and is always ready with a helping hand, a reassuring word or a good laugh to lift everyone’s spirits.
In Linzee’s spare time, she is just as busy with a family and two dogs who keep her on her toes!
We’re so grateful for her hard work and leadership, which she brings to our community every day.

Elaine has been part of our Marriott community since 2010, and we can’t imagine the home without her!

Elaine brings warmth, laughter and an incredible sense of support to both residents and colleagues alike. Whether it’s offering a helping hand, a comforting shoulder or sharing a good laugh, Elaine is always there when someone needs her most.
Outside of work, Elaine is a devoted grandmother and loves spending time crafting showcasing her creative spirit.
We’re so grateful to have Elaine as part of our wonderful team here at Marriott!
