Having had to make a sudden transition into care from living independently, and at a very elderly age, I was very impressed by the care, attention and support given to my father-in-law by all the staff and management, which enabled him to settle in very well.

Also appreciative of the fact that I can pop in at any time to visit and to sit with him in any of the welcoming lounge areas, and wonderful grounds,

The first full month for my father as a resident - staff have gone out of their way to make sure he settles as quickly as practical. Never an easy transition from independent living, they have worked hard to understand what works for him / me,

I came to visit two lovely residents & to join in with the singing at 11am. Amazing atmosphere in the dining room decorated with Union Jack flags representing V.E.Day. Invited to stay for lunch which was beautifully served. At 3pm I am staying for the sing along. All the staff are dedicated & very caring. Red Oaks is a truly special place.

My Dad is a resident of Red Oaks care home and I honestly can't thank the staff enough. They care for him with such kindness, patience and dignity every single day. The care he receives is amazing and most importantly he is genuinely happy there which means the world to me.

The staff go above and beyond and nothing ever seems too much trouble. It gives me real peace of mind knowing he is safe, comfortable and surrounded by people who truly care. I am so grateful to every member of the team. Thank you all for everything you do.

My father came for restbite as his primary carer had to spend some time in hospital. The initial assessment was kind & compassionate and even though it was for a short term stay, alot of time was spent getting to know his interests, hobbies family members etc. There was always engaging activities available. The food options were varied and of good quality. Family members were always made welcome, regardless of when visiting and were well supported through the processes of navigating what was a challenging time.

Mum was an urgent placement and was admitted following a care crisis. From day one, communication has been open + transparent, building relationships with staff + residents has been supported and staff take time to listen and learn about mum. Cannot fault the kindness and approach of the staff involved in mums care, the benefits of the activities, meal and medication support has been key in her wellbeing and she has thrived in the home. The rooms, all staff from housekeeping, catering and care are all supportive. Thank you.

My mum came into Red Oaks as emergency respite care and is now a permanent resident. I can not fault the lovely staff who have been wonderful with mum. The care at Red Oaks is fantastic. They have created a diet plan to feed mum up incorporating her dietary needs. Everyone is so welcoming and I feel so pleased that mum is safe and cared for. It is so lovely to see mum part of a new community/family.

Mum was in home for 13 months.
Very well geared for residents with dementia. Slightly harder for those without dementia to find like minded people to engage with., but soon made friends
Activities geared mainly to those with dementia. But always trying to offer a variety of activities
Staff excellent became friends. Was always treated with dignity.
The food was not of the same quality as when first admitted, eg to much pepper used, making food not enjoyable.
Rooms on the whole were clean but on a few occasions the en-suite toilet was not clean.

Visitors were always very welcome.

My Mum with Alzheimers has been living at Red Oaks since January this year. She absolutely loves it and regularly tells us how happy she is in this phase of her life. After a few tricky years living on her own at home she has now got her confidence back. She is cheerful, 'busy' with activities and has a great relationship with all the staff. She particularly enjoys the weekly community choir and any entertainment where she can dance - something she hasn't done for years!
She's made good friends with residents and staff alike and is being very well looked after.
She loves the food (and the chefs!) and has a beautiful, light room to relax in when she is tired.

We've been nothing but impressed with Red Oaks and knowing she is now safe and happy is such a relief.

When my father was discharged from the hospital I shortlisted a few nursing homes which had the best CQC ratings. I visited them all and Red Oaks was by far the best. It has impressive grounds, a lovely courtyard and lounge area, the rooms are well-equipped and maintained and comfortable and the food is really good. But the main difference is the team that they have. They really have invested in their people and without exception they are engaged and caring people who really looked after my father. His floor have a team of nurses, care practitioners and care assistants, all of whom are professional but also delightful, helpful and genuinely caring.

The difference was when it came to the inevitable. I can't thank the team enough for all their care and affection and it is heartwarming to know he was made so comfortable in the final stages. A really top nursing home is all about 'the team' and they have created the right atmosphere for their staff to work and residents to live.

My aunt was looked after with dignity and good humoured friendly by all Red Oaks staff. Her preferences and decisions were respected alongside staff's encouragement to accept help when necessary. She was able to live her last couple of years as independently as was possible, vital given her life and character. The end of life care was professional, loving and compassionate with all staff members popping in with a friendly word for her (and us!). Thank you Red Oaks.

Our recently deceased Dad spent the last two and half years of his life at Red Oaks. We have nothing but praise for this care home and without exception, the staff who work there. He sometimes referred to it as his 'hotel' and it was that and so much more. He was treated at all times with great love and affection and nothing was too much trouble for the carers and nursing staff. They made sure his final days were comfortable and dignified and for this and everything else, we are extremely grateful. We will miss you all.
