My mother is 97 - has dementia and cancer and is still mobile but declining rapidly. She is fond of all her carers and is treated with dignity and respect.

The care she receives is excellent and consistent. Above all, despite her illness, she is happy and pain-free and knows she is well looked after.

I am very satisfied with the care and attention my mother in law is getting. She is warm and well cared for. The home is very clean and no smells at all. When my Mother in Law does not eat she is given vitamin milk drink which she loves.

Excellent home - very clean (no smell at all). Treated you as a guest rather than a patient. All staff caring and attentive. Very impressive lounges and dining room. Fantastic service in dining room and visitors made welcome.

I have experience of past nursing homes with my parents and elderly relatives and this is way above normal.

I have submitted a comprehensive review to the manager of Red Oaks (DCA). I am assisting with their pilot induction literature 'Getting To Know You' from a relatives standpoint. The experience is positive overall and I would recommend it:
Strengths: Warmth of staff and quality of environment.

Areas for improvement: Working with relatives and more transport methods.

(2wks respite) From pre-assessment to pick up my dad had a wonderful time, the staff were all incredibly helpful and considerate. I could not fault any part of the Red Oaks team, my dad came home full of tales after being slightly reluctant, we are in process for booking up another 2wks stay in September- 5 stars.

Overall Experience

My mother has been a resident at Red Oaks for three and a half years and soon settled in the homely and welcoming environment. I feel she is safe, secure, content and more importantly, so does she. A good level of caring staff, ensure my mother is not neglected and she has plenty of activities in which to participate. Also the option to enjoy the privacy of her room with its balcony and views across the gardens and countryside. It couldn't be better!
