Please see below for comments on overall excellent service.
My experience was greatly enhanced by the kindness of all the staff.
The one distressing experience came in the form of an unannounced caller with a dog (I am allergic to dogs).

Having asked the caller to remove the dog from my room she questioned me whether I was allergic to dogs or disliked dogs.

Red Oaks provides astonishingly good care for Nannie, and I am delighted with how they make her feel. Absolutely nothing is too much trouble and the staff are honestly phenomenal. The venue welcomes my family as if we were their own and make us feel very much at home. I'm delighted that Nannie has this support and facility and couldn't recommend Red Oaks enough.

From the moment you walk into reception at Red Oaks, you are always greeted with a warm welcome. Everyone is treated with respect and dignity. All the Residents are encouraged to join in with a wide variety of activities and equally given the time and space to relax and do what they are comfortable with. Care is professional and respectful of individual needs. Mealtimes are very special. The food is excellent and beautifully served in the elegant dining room. All the staff smile a lot and call everyone by their first name creating a warm and safe environment. There is a real 'home from home' feeling where families are made to feel part of the life there.

My Mother has been at Red Oaks for 4 months now and has settled in wonderfully well. The Staff have handled the adjustment for my Mother and all our family with care and understanding and given reassurance when necessary. It is now a joy for us to visit her there and hear her say 'It is very nice here. The people are lovely.'

Thanks to the staff at Red Oaks yesterday, my husband and I had a wedding celebration for our close family and my grandmother who is currently a resident at Red Oaks. We had a local vicar visit and held it in the conservatory overlooking the beautiful gardens. The staff were so supportive and helpful to accommodate our rather unusual request. As our grandmother was unable to make the wedding in London, we decided to bring the wedding to her. Staff had set up the room brilliantly with flowers and prepared everything we needed. They were so helpful throughout the day taking photos etc, but most of all with Nannie being on hand when she needed support. Staff had spent the whole morning supporting Nannie to look extra special, curling her hair and putting on her wedding outfit and she looked fabulous! We cannot thank the staff team enough for accommodating us and allowing us to create such special memories we will treasure forever!

The setting at Red Oaks is beautiful, in the heart of a lovely village. The layout inside is well designed with a welcoming and sunny reception. The dining room and lounges are cosy and comfortable and my nannie's bedroom spacious.

They seem to have thought of everything with a hair salon, secure garden/courtyard and a conservatory where you can have birthday gatherings and things like that.

Above all else though, it's the staff that make it the most wonderful place. They care so much and in the weeks my nannie has been there, I can tell they've formed a bond with her. They take a pride in how she looks each day and are always there to help with anything we need.

It only took a short while for my nannie to settle. We had expected it to take a lot longer and I believe it's the caring nature of the staff and their genuine interest in finding out what my nannie liked and didn't like, that enabled this to happen, especially when my nannie had lived alone and been independent beforehand.

I have been a volunteer here for 22 years. I come regularly on Wednesdays to help with their weekly church service. I also come on Sundays to have lunch and take one or two people for a walk with my cocker spaniel - we go to see and feed the ducks at a nearby pond.

I think I am fairly observant and I am most impressed by the patience and loving kindness the staff show to the residents, even with people who are difficult. I enjoy coming here to Red Oaks and am always warmly welcomed (or is it my dog they love?!)
