What a wonderful experience when we visited my friend's grandmother at Cossins House Care Home. Upon opening we been greeted with a friendly smile and I personally felt the warmth atmosphere and homely feeling of the home. Honestly, i thought i would smell a usual carehome odour, i was wrong, i smelt
a freshly baked cake and heard a lively conversations and laughters of the residents and staff in the lounge at that time they were having exercise.

Hi,
Just wanted to say a big thanks to the two carers who helped with mum today they were superb. It was Smile and sorry I can't remember the other name.
Mum got quite upset being moved from the bed to the chair ( she has alzheimer's and they were so nice comforting her and reassuring her during
the move and also once in the chair. It's so nice to see this as I find it upsetting when mum gets like this but knowing they take such great care of her and show genuine compassion is extremely comforting to us knowing she is cared for so well when we are not there. This makes it all much easier for us to deal with know you guys are so caring !
Please pass on our thanks for them doing such a nice job, we are very grateful !
Reply from Pramojil Kurian, General Manager at Barchester Reigate BeaumontThank you so much for your kind message it really means a lot. Were so pleased to hear the carers were able to comfort and support your mum during a difficult moment. Well be sure to pass your thanks on to Smile and the team. Your feedback is truly appreciated.

We were so fortunate that our mother spent the last 3 years in the care of the Barchester Beaumont. She was in such capable and caring hands from the nursing care she received to the catering and cleaning staff who all carry out their work with a smile. If we couldn't visit we were reassured that she
would have had a few friendly chats with a member or two of the team during her day.
A couple of staff members were with her when she died which we are immensely grateful for and take great comfort from.
Although Mum liked to keep herself to herself there were many social activities she could have joined in with. She preferred to have the use of one of the smaller lounges for a game if Scrabble with the family.
Reply from Pramojil Kurian, General Manager at Barchester Reigate BeaumontThank you for your kind and heartfelt message. We are truly honoured to have cared for your mother and are grateful for your appreciation of our team. Were especially glad you found comfort in knowing she was not alone, and we will share your lovely words with our staff.

I can see such a difference in nan, she's so spritely, happy, outgoing, had nails painted & hair done. Joining in, eating, looks glowing, it's like she's finally living life at the wrong end, but its so nice to see her so happy.
Thankyou for caring for her.

I cannot fault Windmill Manor! My relative has been there over a year now and her health has improved greatly. I visit almost every day and can say without a doubt that this is a fabulous care home who really do care about the residents. I base this on what I see and hear and if I do have any questions/concerns
they are addressed straight away. I see respite cases who want to stay or improve greatly as well as a resident who got so strong they went back home'. It's a huge decision and can feel overwhelming to place a loved one in a home for both yourself and the person going to live there but I cannot recommend Windmill Manor enough. I had conducted a lot of research beforehand with my relative having respite and another stay where they did not settle. I hope this is passed on to the staff as I am very grateful to everyone

My husband is very well cared for by all staff and is known to all the ground floor residents as well as many visitors to the home who all chat to him. Sadly he cannot walk or communicate but he's always happy. He enjoys the activities and the girls chat to him and do his nails and he has some thoughtful
"fidget" toys. He also engaged well in the pilates class! Which is a popular and well-attended activity as is the "word" game which is great fun. I'd like to thank everyone for their care & attention for me and our family.

0n arrival shown ground floor room as 2nd floor rooms unoccupied. En suite disappointed as no seat, no non-slip shower mat and only 1 grab handle. Wheelchair commode offered but declined. Shower chair later arrived. Got my own shower mat brought in.
Breakfast in room was refused by one carer and
delayed by 40 minutes on 2 other occasions.
I accept as a care home one accepts residents may have mental problems but disappointed how few there were with whom I could hold a prolonged conversation.
Meals were adequate but some strange combinations. One evening main course 3 fish fingers, 5 chips and 2 soggy overcooked sprouts!
Care staff were helpful and kind.
Original mattress had big hollow but changed after I commented getting out was difficult.

Our widowed father initially tested living at the Reigate Beaumont by staying for a 2-week respite break in Feb 22, aged 92. Together, we wanted to research whether he should move in permanently, or stay in his own house with carers coming to him. He extended these respite breaks 3 times, then he decided
to become a permanent resident in April 22. What persuaded him was the caring & attentive attitude of all the staff, the excellent food & dining rooms, the great indoor/outdoor activities including musicians & singers that he loved, and the huge, beautiful park-like garden maintained to an excellent standard. Being out in the garden gave him great joy, as did the spectacular cakes on his birthdays. Our deepest gratitude goes to all the staff who cared for Dad until he died in Dec 25, aged 96. Each moment that you dedicated to him, we know was spent lovingly, thoughtfully & with humour. You all exemplified the values & decency that he held dear. Thank you for every day and forever more.
Reply from Pramojil Kurian, General Manager at Barchester Reigate BeaumontThank you for your kind feedback about our home, the care we provide, and our staff. We truly appreciate your comments and will be sure to share them with our team.
