Barchester Ashford House Care Home is located near Staines, in the village of Stanwell.

The home provides 24-hour expert care for people living with dementia in the specialist Memory Lane Community.

It is proud to be one of the first homes to be accredited as part of Barchester’s Dementia Care programme, reflecting the enhanced quality of dementia care and improved quality of life experienced by the residents at Ashford House.

A team of highly-qualified and attentive staff really focuses on the individual needs of residents with a tailored care plan for each person.

Staff's dedication can be seen across the board - in the cooking, hospitality and organised activities for residents.

Activities are tailored to the individual interests of residents and there is an ongoing life box project in which residents can compile memories and treasured items. Other activities include pet therapy and musical entertainment.

Dad has been a resident at Ashford House now for over a year. I cannot fault his care, the staff are amazing and when he came down recently with an illness it was diagnosed really quickly and medical care was sought immediately. Dad particularly likes the entertainment that's put on regularly throughout
the week and the meals they serve our great. I cannot recommend this home enough.

I cannot praise highly enough the amount of work and attention to detail that the ladies of housekeeping and activities put into the themed fete, they deserve a massive thank you for all the smiling faces of the residents.
I think all the staff do the best they can for the residents and their families.
I would like to see higher carer ratio to residents.

I visited Barchester Ashford House Care Home to see my friend's sister, now living in your care home. It was the family day, my first visit. I was so impressed with the effort all the staff made to ensure a happy and carefree day for the patients and the families. I was also delighted at the one-to-one
relationship with those living in the home and their carers. They were polite, respectful and very caring.

I live abroad and I visited Mum in March on a visit to UK. I phone Mum nearly every day and it is rare not to find her in good spirits. The carers and staff are doing a top job and I am very happy my mum is in such a well-run establishment.

Mum is doing well having recovered from cellulitis and a urinary infection not long ago. The carers and staff are doing a very good job of looking after her. The nurses also keep me up to date by phone, which is very helpful. It has been a difficult time for Mum, but the work and care of the staff
in the home have been first-class.

My brother and I arrived to go through our mother's care plan. We were welcomed as always by happy and lovely staff. We were offered tea/coffee and cakes as always and advised to always help ourselves. The care plan was very accurate and detailed which was excellent! We all agreed Mum has settled very

I have been a nurse for many years and have continued to develop my skills in nursing people living with Dementia through the excellent development training that Barchester Healthcare has offered me. I am privileged to have this opportunity


Working in a dementia environment is a very rewarding career. I feel residents treat us as their own family as you can feel the genuine response from them, their trust, acceptance and the lovely smiles on their faces. It’s such a pleasure to care for them.


I am so proud of the elderly care Ashford House offer to people living with dementia at our nursing home and we like to help if we can.

I qualified as a nurse in Romania. In 2000 I started working with Barchester and in 2003 progressed to the role of senior carer while waiting for my PIN number.


I continued as a nurse afterwards. I’m grateful for the experience that I have gained working with Barchester to improve my skills and the training that has been provided by the company.

I started off working at Ashford House in 2019 as a kitchen assistant, a job which I very much enjoyed.
In 2021, I joined the housekeeping team as I felt I would like more time to get to know our wonderful residents. Since then, I have never looked back. I love my job and our residents, who I think are remarkable.
Our housekeeping team are amazing to work with and works tirelessly to keep our home immaculate. They take pride in their work and always go the extra mile for our residents. This is why in June 2025, I proudly took the job as Head Housekeeper.
