I have been a nurse for many years and have continued to develop my skills in nursing people living with Dementia through the excellent development training that Barchester Healthcare has offered me. I am privileged to have this opportunity

Working in a dementia environment is a very rewarding career. I feel residents treat us as their own family as you can feel the genuine response from them, their trust, acceptance and the lovely smiles on their faces. It’s such a pleasure to care for them.

I am so proud of the elderly care Ashford House offer to people living with dementia at our nursing home and we like to help if we can.

Hello. My name is Christina, and I am the Clinical Deputy Manager here at Ashford House.

I joined Barchester in 2000. I find my role very rewarding and like to ensure the residents receive premium care and support at all times. The team here at Ashford House are very caring and takes pride in their roles to ensure the home is a safe and comfortable environment for all the residents here.

Hello, I am Laura, and I am the Homes Administrator. I joined the team here at Ashford House Care Centre in 2023.

I love meeting new people and getting to know our residents and their loved ones. My role is very rewarding and I like to ensure that residents and their loved ones receive the right support, and I will apply my knowledge of finances to achieve this.

Hello, my name is Mihai, and I am the Head Chef here at Ashford House.

I started working as a Kitchen Assistant when I joined Ashford House in 2016. My passion for cooking inspired me to continue to work hard, and with my skills and knowledge, I was promoted to the Head Chef position.

I was awarded the certificate for completing the 5 modules from Barchester Chef Academy in December 2025.

I am passionate about creating freshly prepared, nutritious and delicious meals for the residents.

Hi, my name is Sheeba, and I am an Activities Coordinator here at Ashford House.

Having a degree in Fine Arts and a creative background enables me to plan person-centred activities according to the personalities and tastes of the residents here at Ashford House. I believe and work towards making a positive difference in their day-to-day life, and I can honestly say this is one of the most rewarding jobs.

I started off working at Ashford House in 2019 as a kitchen assistant, a job which I very much enjoyed.

In 2021, I joined the housekeeping team as I felt I would like more time to get to know the wonderful residents. Since then, I have never looked back. I love my job and the residents, who I think are remarkable.

Hello, my name is Kirsty, and I am an Activity Coordinator here at Ashford House.

I have worked at Ashford House since 2017. I started off as a carer, which I loved, then moved over to the wonderful housekeeping team, and now I am one of our activity coordinators, a job that I adore.  I love brightening the day of the residents with fun, meaningful things to do. From exercise classes to trips to Hampton Court Palace.

I also enjoy organising special events for families to enjoy with their loved ones.
