Welcome to Worplesdon View Care Home, my name is Graham Allen I am the Senior General Manager here.

Worplesdon View is a purpose-built 78 beds care home and delivers nursing and residential care services, as well as personalised dementia care. The home has been designed with older people in mind, from furniture through the spacious, en-suite bedrooms, to the well-tended and secure gardens.

Throughout the home, there is a range of communal and dining facilities to suit people who enjoy socialising as well as those who prefer quieter activities.

The home's Memory Lane community has been specially designed for those living with dementia using colour schemes that easily enable residents to identify areas within the home. It also features life skills kitchen where residents can be involved in everyday kitchen activities, such as baking and setting the table under supervision and guidance.

Within their Memory Lane community they also have outlined a sensory room, with a therapeutic environment created for the express purpose of delivering high levels of stimulation to those living with dementia.

I am very sad to hear the news that the exceptional manger will be leaving Worplesdon View this month.
He set such a high standard and obviously has a caring attitude, as the turn over in staff is minimal and they all seem extremely happy working there.
I look forward to meeting the new manager soon
and am hopeful that they will continue with the old managers good work and continuity of happy, caring and extremely helpful staff.

I found it hard for my husband to go for a two week respite care but soon felt at ease with all the kind care he received. It was also reassuring to find some carers and staff who were still working there after looking after my father six years ago.
Everyone was smiley and caring and everything was
first class and in turn helped me have a much needed break.

My wife has been at Worplesdon View since March. The first thing you notice is the cleanliness of the entire building. The staff, no matter what position, or shift, are always extremely polite and welcoming,especially to our visitors. All staff are helpful, kind and considerate to my wife, nothing is
too much trouble.
We feel it is more like a hotel with nurses and carers than a home.
Coming to a nursing home for the first time can be a bit daunting but at Worplesdon you quickly make friends with staff and fellow patients. Everyone has a story to tell and it becomes a family.

My mum has been a resident for 4 1/2 years and my dad was a residents for 2 years before his death in June 2023. At no point have I had any issues with Worplesdon View. The management and team are wonderful, very open and helpful and the level of care is excellent. My mum is very shy but has built great
relationships with the team and enjoys their company. I cannot thank management and team enough for their kindness and for ensuring my mum is extremely well looked after.

My father and his twin sister were 92 in January and we had a private lunch for them and our family at Barchester Worplesdon View. The staff were so welcoming to all our family young and old and the food was delicious. The chef had made a wonderful chocolate cake for the twins which was much appreciated.
The room was decorated with balloons and happy birthday banner. It was a very happy occasion with the staff popping in often to ask if we needed anything. The manager came to speak to us all too.
The staff at the home from the reception team to the activities staff, clinical staff, carers, housekeeping and chefs are always so polite and cheery. They are gentle and kind with the residents.
We feel very fortunate to have our father in residence there.

Excellent range of activities available and my husband actively encouraged and supported to take part. The range of gentle stretching exercises, tai chi and balloon volleyball are all tremendous, keeping muscles active, balance honed and transfers skills, all borne in mind. It's fun too. Please keep
this range of movement activities going.

My husband has been nursed and cared for in Barchester Worplesdon View for many months now to, what I feel, is an exceptional standard. His comfort, well-being, complex medical needs have all been handled by most professional and empathetic staff at all times. There is always a friendly, warm and understanding
attitude to me, as a visiting relative.
I cannot recommend this nursing home more highly.

My wife's eighteen-month stay here was very good. She was very happy with the treatment she received and our whole family was happy with her stay and we made life-long friends with her carers, nurses and rest of the staff. The staff treated her just like a family. You can't ask for more. We can never

I spent two weeks in respite care at the Barchester Worplesdon View. I am a full-time wheelchair user with little that I can do myself. I was impressed during my initial visit by both the accommodation and facilities available and the friendliness. When I went to stay I found that everything I had seen
on my initial visit was correct and was actually surpassed as I found the care, accommodation, food and facilities were all exceptionally good. Nothing I asked for was too much trouble and I thoroughly enjoyed staying there and will certainly return in the future. Thank you to all the staff who made my stay so good.

My mother was a resident of Barchester Worplesdon View for seven months in 2024, suffering from Alzheimer's. On first visit, we were impressed by the building and facilities and a warm reception to our visit.
Sadly, my mother passed after seven months but from the first to last day, the entire staff
and their approach to care needs surpassed all expectations of the family.
The level of care, courtesy, respect and retention of personal dignity was always foremost in the staff and the genuine concern and empathy were truly astonishing.
Thank you so much from our family, it will never be forgotten.

We have visited our elderly friend at Barchester Worplesdon View several times and on each occasion have received a friendly and helpful welcome. The high quality of the building itself, the individual rooms for residents, the style of the decor, the cleanliness and attention to detail is matched by
the warmth and friendliness of all the staff we have met. Our reunion meal for seven was excellent and the service provided was impeccable. We are pleased our friend has such good surroundings in her latter years and thank you for looking after her and us so well.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Barchester Worplesdon View for more than four and a half years and has been cared for superbly. She enjoys the many activities on offer and usually attends two or three each day. She likes being with other people and keeping her body and mind as fit as possible
with yoga, "volleyball", tai chi and other activities, in spite of being wheelchair-bound. Other activities, like word games and puzzles, help to maintain her mental health and keep boredom at bay.
We cannot speak too highly of the activities team who are always cheerful and encouraging. The nursing and care staff have been wonderful - attending to her health needs, ensuring that she eats well and is smartly dressed every day, just as she was in her own home.
Food quality is excellent, the dining rooms are like quality restaurants with tables properly set and an appetising choice of courses at each meal. We are very fortunate to have found Worplesdon View for Mum.

The professional nursing care, kindness and helpfulness whilst my mother has been in respite care was exceptional. The facilities are also excellent. All visitors were made to feel welcome.

My husband has been at Worplesdon View for nearly three years. The fact that he is still here is largely down to the high-quality care and nursing that he receives. Although he is bed-bound, nonverbal and showing little interaction with people, this doesn't stop the staff, including the activities team,
from engaging with him and trying to find ways to stimulate him. The nursing and care team have been consistent during the time that he has been resident here, which has really helped too. I can only say how appreciative I am of all the people in all of the teams, for what they do for my husband and myself. Worplesdon View feels like a second home to me. My husband is on puréed food and I want to say that it always looks appetising and tastes lovely! Thank you.

The activities are very very good. I am always impressed by their politeness and enthusiasm. Everyone is talked to by name and encouraged to join in to the best of their ability. My mother enjoys the physical activities, the stretching sessions and volleyball (so do I) and boggle and the crosswords.

Hello, I’m Nicola Orwin, and I’m proud to be the General Manager here at Worplesdon View. I bring over 8 years of experience in Health and Social Care to this role, having started my career as a Care Assistant. For the past 6 years, I’ve held management positions within the private healthcare sector, and I am delighted to now be a part of Barchester, one of the leading providers in this sector.


I’m passionate about ensuring the highest level of compassionate, person-centred care for our residents. I’m excited to be a part of this wonderful team, working together to continuously raise the bar and provide the best possible care for those we serve.


One of the things I value most is creating a home that feels like a community—a place where residents, families, staff, and friends come together to live fulfilling, positive lives. It’s so important to me that everyone who walks through our doors feels supported and empowered.


Worplesdon View has already established a fantastic reputation, and I’m excited to be part of a team that is so dedicated and committed to maintaining that high standard. Zlatka or Zee has been at Worplesdon View since 2004, started as a registered nurse and worked her way up to become Deputy Manager. Qualified nurse since 1998, very passionate about her work and dedicated to the residents, team and relatives.


Outside of work, Zee likes spending time with her family, friends, and of course her little dog; she enjoys reading and listening to music.

My name is Tanya. I am a qualified nurse and have been at Worplesdon View since 2017. I am very passionate bout what I do and it gives me great pleasure to see residents enjoying their life at Worplesdon View. As the Unit Manager, I always ensure that every resident is safe, that they have been treated with respect, kindness and above all, they've been heard.

Job Title: Head of Maintance Joined: 2017

My name is Mark and I bring my skills as a school caretaker to Worplesdon View with me. I am the Maintenance Manager and I am responsible for the upkeep and safety of the building.


What I enjoy most about this role is helping residents settle into their rooms and personalising them. When possible, I like to help out the activities team and join in with the residents.

With 20 years’ experience as Head Chef and 31 years in the catering industry, Steve brings quality and consistency to Worplesdon View. Having always been passionate about food since he was a boy, working in his local chip shop and cooking at home, Steve decided to become a professional chef. He completed his City & Guild’s qualifications at the same time as working for Forte Crest Hotels picking up some amazing skills along the way. Steve proceeded to work at a number of restaurants, golf clubs, private schools, wedding venues, conference and training venues to gain experience in every area of the catering profession. After several years, he decided to set himself a new challenge to hone his pastry skills with an NVQ Level 3 Professional Cookery - Patisserie. After being made redundant Steve wanted to give something back to the elderly so he decided to look at Barchester Care Homes, specifically Worplesdon View, by using his skills, knowledge and talent to help give the residents something to look forward to each and every day. Steve wants to make sure the residents are supported through a healthy range of options, while taking their preferences and opinions into account so they can enjoy their food experience during this latter part of their life.
