This is my first experience of a care home and I have found it a very good experience, indeed, so far.
People are always eager to be helpful and someone is always at the ready to help. I find the food very varied and tasty.

During our stay as service user the care recieved was first class.
Good intertainment & activities. A super day out to a garden centre. Chef accomadated diat needs.
The staff were warm and friendley looking after our needs.
The grounds and surounding areas were lovely & well kept.
Obersvations:-
Bed was on the small size staff were able to resolve the issue.
We would visit again - a great stay overall.

We booked Mother in for respite care for 2 weeks, to gauge whether she was ready for full time care.
We were so impressed with everything provided. It was like a holiday for Mum (and us) with lots of activities for her. The care provided was first class, the staff were so welcoming and thoughtful.
It completely surpassed our expectations. A lovely experience for us all.

We are glad we found Silverbirch House for my Aunt. First impressions are good with the reception area being light, open and welcoming, the communal rooms are well furnished and my Aunt's room is comfortable with a pleasant aspect and a modern en suite. The staff are friendly and helpful and the management
professional and accessible. The other residents appear happy and content. We are impressed with Silverbirch House.

I believe my sister is receiving very good care. The atmosphere is friendly and happy. The home seem to be similar to a 5 star hotel. Staff are welcoming and attentive. I cannot comment on management, facilities etc. because I have no experience. The food is a little bland and portions very small, but
I do understand you are catering for many people with different tastes so it probably has to be that way.

Moving Mum into Silverbirch House was a good decision.
She is safe and content and receives first class care. The staff are well trained, considerate and treat Mum with dignity. Visitors are greeted by name and offered assistance. The quality of the residents meals is clearly a priority. Excellent
working arrangements with the local GP practice and district nurses deliver impressive standards of medical care.
Mum says 'I am well looked after here' - I agree with her.

The Care Manager and her deputy couldn't have done more to put me at my ease and for me to see that this was a well run home where staff really cared for their residents and that my Dad would be well looked after. His hospital stay had left him in a poor state but right from our first discussions all
the management have gone above and beyond. Now that my Dad is with them the kindness shown by everyone is wonderful My Dad's mobility has improved and the food is nutritious and tasty and my Dad has already put on weight. It was lovely to hear him say that everyone is very kind and that he enjoys the food. Having looked at other homes, this one stands out from the crowd.

My grandmother has only been a resident for 2 weeks but in this short space of time, her family have been impressed with the professionalism and caring attitude of the staff. She has been made to feel very welcome, with a high level of support. The facilities are first class.

I have been to this new care home quite often and most people seem to sit in the coffee shop which could be a bit bigger as it is small and it's nice and light with views over the gardens. It's a very friendly place, very nicely looked after. The staff are very helpful and friendly.

I visit my friend. I admit I was worried about him at first but the home is lovely and he seems well looked after. In fact, I wouldn't mind moving in myself!
I am happy for him and I, myself, have peace of mind knowing that he is here and the staff are great!

The manager and staff are so very caring and I'm always kept up to date with any issue. It is never a problem to talk to anyone if you have any concerns. Initially I was so worried about my partner going into a home and it was a very difficult start for him but the manager and staff persevered their
control and management were exceptional.
He is happy now has a lovely room and is safe which for dementia sufferers and their families is the main concern.
It is well run and beautifully equipped.

The care home is beautifully decorated, clean, warm and inviting. The entrance coffee bar is a hub for everyone to meet and chat. Chilled water, coffee, tea and cake are always available. The staff are absolutely amazing. I feel like all the major stresses and strains of supporting my Mum in the community
and helping to run her home have eased. I can now visit my Mum and be more present, spending quality time with her. I've played cards, played darts, had lunch in the restaurant, taught a chair Pilates class, done her hair in the salon, alongside their resident hairdresser (who is amazing with the residents), I've even danced with my Mum during a singsong.
The only disappointing thing is that they lost their entertainments manager the same week as my Mum came to Barchester Silverbirch House Care Home and my Mum would like a more varied range of daily activities.
Overall I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this care home to any one.

The staff are outstanding, friendly professional and encouraging. The facilities are very good indeed. Outstanding value for money. They have transformed my view of care homes.
Most importantly they have improved my mother's quality of life.
Nothing is too much for the staff and they are innovative

I have been very impressed at the quiet, calm, professional and find way the team have assessed my 95-year-old mother over a period where she has been very unwell with a bladder infection, she is now very frail and also very poorly but the team are adapting to her needs and treating her with kindness
and dignity. I am now beginning to feel more confident that her final weeks/months will be made as comfortable as possible and that together we can make her final journey more bearable. You have some very special people on the team!

Meet Bob Silverbirch’s Resident Ambassador.


Bob was the first resident to move into his new forever home when we opened our doors just a few short weeks ago. We are delighted for him to take on this role. Bob was born in Gateshead before moving to Surrey for his career in his 20s. He had a very successful career as a Health and Safety Manager at an Oil Company. He has 3 sons and 6 grandchildren who he is extremely proud of.
You will usually find Bob in our Cafe with a hot drink and listening to Opera his favourite kind of music. Come along and join us for a coffee and some homemade cake. Meet the team and of course Bob and the other residents too.
