Very pleasant respite stay for my 100 year old Mother-in-law.
The staff were caring and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Accommodation standards were high with very good furniture.

Winifred said how happy she was to be at Silver Birch and she enjoyed the atmosphere with the other residents.

I could write a book about how good I think our experience has been at Silverbirch but will keep it concise..
My mother needed some respite care after being in hospital as she is 94 yrs young and has loved being looked after by the team at Silverbirch. She loved the care and attention given to her by every one and the happy smiling faces that she saw everyday. All staff as so helpful and thinking ahead all the time to make life easy for everyone and she has loved the food and activities and although she is now back home after her convalescence , I really think she will miss the place with all the activities and fun she enjoyed during her stay.

This is a luxury care home in every way and should Mother needed help in the future it would without doubt be my first choice , it's an exceptional care home with wonderful staff led by a focused and caring management team.

Here for a post-operative care. What a good idea!
Loved the room, with its little balcony overlooking fields. Loved the chick hatching and chicks to watch in the foyer.
Loved the quietness of the top floor.
The facilities are top quality, and the staff are so nice and helpful.

One suggestion: There is nowhere to put soap, a back brush etc in the shower, so some sort of holder would be a good idea.

Silverbirch House was the best decision we ever made for my mother who sadly passed away in March. My mother received the best care in a friendly loving, compassionate environment. The carers were so attentive and dedicated in sometimes very challenging situations. My mother always looked well cared for and she loved the daily delicious meals and cakes. Silverbirch is one big happy family run by the most supportive of manageress's, along with a fabulous team of carers.

I will miss you all but thank you for everything you did for my dear mother.

I cannot thank the team enough for their incredible support and care for my father-in-law during his recent respite stay at Silverbirch. From the initial conversation through to his departure, the team were courteous, attentive and supportive. Nothing was ever too much bother and they made him (myself and wider family) feel at home instantly. We will certainly be using their respite service again, when the time arises. Thank you all so much.

0n arrival shown ground floor room as 2nd floor rooms unoccupied. En suite disappointed as no seat, no non-slip shower mat and only 1 grab handle. Wheelchair commode offered but declined. Shower chair later arrived. Got my own shower mat brought in.
Breakfast in room was refused by one carer and delayed by 40 minutes on 2 other occasions.
I accept as a care home one accepts residents may have mental problems but disappointed how few there were with whom I could hold a prolonged conversation.
Meals were adequate but some strange combinations. One evening main course 3 fish fingers, 5 chips and 2 soggy overcooked sprouts!
Care staff were helpful and kind.

Original mattress had big hollow but changed after I commented getting out was difficult.

Silverbirch Care Home is beautifully presented, with top of the range fixtures and fittings. Mum has settled in very quickly and tells me that the staff are always so kind and caring. She enjoys a wide choice of delicious food and there is usually a home made cake available in the bistro, the hub of the home. There is a wide range of activities on offer for those who wish to participate and the home organises trips out, at least once a week. I have been so lucky to find this lovely care home for my mum.

A wonderful care home we used recently for my mother in law in respite care for 6 weeks. Lovely staff especially Walter and wonderful care. The rooms were beautifully furnished on the ground floor with a door opening onto a patio. As for the food it was fresh cooked and amazing especially the cake for visitors.

Great care and attention to detail.

Mum moved in two months ago when her dementia worsened and we decided she was no longer safe at home. Although we had chosen Silver Birch House as our 'just in case' a while ago we needed to take action quickly and they were able to admit her within 24 hours. They were so understanding and kind, I was finding the decision quite traumatic and their reassurance was invaluable. More importantly Mum went in quite happily without any fuss.
I could never imagine her joining in activities but she seems to try everything and I enjoy seeing her on their social media page. She has been taken to a garden centre and Wisley in their minibus.
Every member of staff has been lovely and Mum has made new friends among the other residents. She enjoys the food and has a lovely room. We are always welcomed and she has had lots of visits.

The whole place is bright and airy, beautifully decorated and has a modern homely feel - nothing like I imagined a care home would be.

Its such a relief to have mum in Silverbirch House being so well looked after by all the staff.
Shes not one to join in but they strike just the right balance to encourage her and she has just returned from a lovely afternoon out at the Garden Centre looking at all the Christmas lights and festivities.
More importantly they are completely on the ball when she's not feeling well, contacting 111 and the Doctor to ensure she is looked after properly and with dignity. They keep us informed of every development so we are always completely aware of whats going on.

I can't thank them all enough. The staff and all the surroundings are just whats needed for a fulfilling life as we enter her twilight years.

My mum was very nervous about trying a carehome but we visited Silverbirch and it was such a lovely looking place that she agreed to give it a try. The Care team at Silverbirch have been great in the first stages of admitting mum into full time care. She is not one to join in to activities or mix easily and Bo has been amazing at getting her involved even when initially she has been refusing to come out of her room and mix with others. Imagine our surprise when we heard that she had agreed to go out for a day trip in the minibus!! The whole team have been great at settling her in and she's looking so much better even after a few weeks.

I have been a resident of the Silverbirch Care Home for the past 9 months & am still trying to settle in but am finding it a bit difficult still as I miss my family & my own home, having lvied in the same house for 62 years but unfortunately I am no longer to look after my husband & myself but everyone is so kind & nothing is too much trouble for the carers & I have a nice room & most things I need really I soppose it will just take time. I believe my sister is receiving very good care. The atmosphere is friendly and happy. The home seem to be similar to a 5 star hotel. Staff are welcoming and attentive. I cannot comment on management, facilities etc. because I have no experience. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I felt a sense of belonging and knew this was the perfect place for me. The warmth of the residents and the dedication of my colleagues convinced me that I was in the right place and that working here would provide me with a chance to contribute to a wonderful and modern care home. With nine years of experience in providing care, I'm eager to make a positive impact on the lives of our residents. It's my mission to ensure that each resident receives the same level of care and support that I would give to my own family members.

Barchester have provided me with both time and training to help me grow personally and professionally. I look forward to continuing to develop my skills and knowledge, enriching the lives of our residents along the way.

My name is Daniel. I began my culinary journey in England in 2015, working as a chef in various care homes.

Having completed all my qualifications, I am now ready and awaiting the opportunity to step into a head chef role.

Cooking runs in my family as both my grandmother and father were chefs, so joining the culinary world felt like a natural path for me. I have a deep passion for creating delicious meals for residents with dysphagia and have specialised training in molecular gastronomy to ensure everyone enjoys their dining experience. I look forward to bringing my skills and passion to the table as I continue to grow in my career.
