Comfortable rooms, quiet and friendly.

My elderly dad came for respite care at Barchester Silverbirch House Care Home in May 2024. He settled in perfectly and quickly decided that he'd like to stay. The staff couldn't be kinder and are always on hand to help. After being in hospital for a week, Dad's walking had declined but as soon as he
was in Silverbirch House, I could see him growing gradually stronger again.
His life has been enriched with group activities, such as exercise classes, music, flower arranging, cooking, gardening and even outings.
The meals are well-prepared and there is always a choice. I know the excellent, homecooked food was a factor in Dad's decision to stay.
The beautiful interiors are bright and spacious and the accessible garden is a huge bonus. Dad has a ground-floor room and he can look out over the garden and see what's going on and step out into the fresh air whenever he wants.
Thank you to everyone at Silverbirch House, we can't imagine we could have found a better or nicer place.

A family member is currently using Barchester Silverbirch House Care Home for respite care and is feeling safe and well supported there. Facilities are very well presented and staff incredibly kind and attentive whilst remaining professional. The entertainment programme is comprehensive, providing both
mental and physical stimulation. The food is of good quality and variety with several meals spread throughout the day and residents are able to eat in the dining room or in their rooms if they wish to. Visitors are truly welcomed at any time.

My mother stayed for 2 weeks at Silverbirch House for respite care. In her own words, "The food was excellent as were the staff who served it. The staff couldn't do enough to help and were wonderful. I felt safe and very well looked after" From a daughter's perspective the home is very well presented
giving a hotel feel. The activities are arranged throughout the day and the residents are made to feel welcome and engaged at all times. The phone is always answered swiftly and any issues are attended to immediately. We are both very impressed.

All staff are courteous and attentive to both residents and their families.
The reason I only gave four stars instead of five for facilities is that perhaps, as more residents come, satellite TV could be installed.
And regarding the food and drink category, perhaps a little more could be offered at
the entrance cafe, for those who might be a bit hungry outside of meal times.
To always have someone on reception/host would take extra responsibility away from the carers. The lovely receptionist has been caring too.

My Grandma has recently moved into this new Barchester home around Feb 2024. She was reluctant at first as she has lived independently for so long (she is 98Yrs). However, she is now so happy with her decision to move and the home's staff have been very supportive of this new chapter of her life. She
now loves her new home, the staff are warm and understanding.
I honestly can't fault the care she receives and the facilities. The staff are welcoming, knowledgeable and vigilant. The home has state-of-the-art facilities, which are kept very clean. The property feels very homely and has lovely décor. Every time I go to visit it feels like one big family home. The food and activities are engaging for their residents.
Nice to see a care home ran so well and really taking care of their residents. Each resident is treated with respect and dignity. The care they provide is completely person-centred and all of the residents' wishes are always respected.

I cannot praise the staff and facilities at Barchester Silverbirch House Care Home enough. Ever since my mother took up residence in February 2024, the staff have always been not only professional and helpful but also friendly and approachable. Staff are keen and obviously love their work caring for
people. Together with the excellent facilities and setting, Silverbirch is homely, restful and welcoming with a range of activities available to partake in or not as my mother wishes.
My family and I are grateful for all the wonderful assistance that staff have provided. It is reassuring to know that Mother is in the right place to ensure that the 24-hour care she now needs is provided. Thank you.

We are very pleased indeed with the care the staff are taking with Mum. The staff are all very friendly and cheerful. Also, staff have gone out of their way to make Mum feel welcome. Excellent care home, I would recommend. 2 minor points for attention, 1, Smart TVs with elderly confused people? Mum
just wanted to press a button and see a particular channel. 2, visitors come and don't sign in, we didn't know who they were. Please ask everyone to identify themselves.

I am committed to leading my team with the highest standards of care and compassion. I share my knowledge and expectations with them to ensure we deliver exceptional service to our residents.

Hello, My name is Cristina. I am the Deputy Manager here at Silverbirch House. I have worked in the care industry for 6 years, working my way up from care assistant to deputy manager. During this time I completed a nurse associate university programme, leading me to become a registered nurse associate in 2023. Supporting our residents, their families and my team is something that I pour my heart and soul into, their happiness and well-being mean a lot to me. I am proud to work in this beautiful home and I look forward to watching it grow.

Hello, My name is Cosmin. I am the Care Community Lead here at Silverbirch House. I am really excited to be supporting our residents here and working in this beautiful environment. I have been in the care industry now for 6 years, working my way up, I have worked hard to get my Nursing Associate Degree. Ifreke Olatokun

My name is Ifreke Olatokun and my background is microbiology. I joined the care community in 2017 out of sheer passion for care and I find this to be extremely rewarding.


I joined the Silverbirch Care Home in October 2024 as a Bank Senior Carer and was offered the position as a Temporary Care Community Lead in June 2025, which due to the exceptional high standard of care that is provided at Silverbirch whole team's approach.


I am super excited for the opportunity to bring my experience in delivering the high quality of person-centred care to such an amazing community of staff and residents of Silverbirch.

Originally from Romania, Adrian Maritan brings a wealth of construction experience to his Maintenance Manager role at Silverbirch House. Since arriving in the UK in 2004, Adrian has worked across various care homes, progressing from Carer to Senior Carer before transitioning into maintenance and management.


Adrian enjoys spending time with residents, ensuring their safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment.

Darina Dyulgerova

Originally from Bulgaria, Darina Dyulgerova has been living in the UK since 2015. With extensive experience in the hospitality and care home sectors, she is dedicated to maintaining a comfortable, and welcoming environment for our residents. Passionate about her work, Darina takes pride in going above and beyond to enhance residents' daily lives. An art graduate, she continues to enjoy painting in her spare time. Darina’s skills, dedication, and artistic flair make her an invaluable member of our team.

Hello, My name is Nicky and I am the Administrator at Silverbirch House. I joined Barchester in January, having worked in the care industry for 20 years I have always heard great things about the company and am pleased to be working here in this beautiful home.


I take great pride in my work and I am happy to be in a position that supports my colleagues and our residents I look forward to seeing the home grow. I am also the home's 'Speak Up' Champion, this is something I am very proud of and it gives me comfort knowing I can be here to support my peers.


I have two grown children and I love animals. I also spend a lot of my spare time watching most sports. I am very happy to be part of this team.

Hello, my name is Asma. I work as the receptionist and administration assistant at Silverbirch House. Since joining the team, I've felt a strong connection with Barchester, and have enjoyed bonding with my new colleagues. Everyone at Silverbirch has been so kind and helpful to me. I'm proud to be the first person in my family to graduate, with a degree in computer science and engineering.


I'm confident that Barchester will help me to further develop my skills and shape my life. I'm also a mother of two beautiful children and have a wonderful family. My biggest wish is for my parents to visit from India so I can show them where I work and the incredible Barchester family I'm a part of. Meet Bob Silverbirch’s Resident Ambassador.


Bob was the first resident to move into his new forever home when we opened our doors just a few short weeks ago. We are delighted for him to take on this role. Bob was born in Gateshead before moving to Surrey for his career in his 20s. He had a very successful career as a Health and Safety Manager at an Oil Company. He has 3 sons and 6 grandchildren who he is extremely proud of.
You will usually find Bob in our Cafe with a hot drink and listening to Opera his favourite kind of music. Come along and join us for a coffee and some homemade cake. Meet the team and of course Bob and the other residents too.

Laila brings over 10 years of experience in nursing and residential care to Silverbirch House, alongside her part-time role in the ultrasound and X-ray departments at the Royal Surrey Hospital. Her passion for care grew while nursing her grandmother through COVID and supporting her through long COVID.


In her free time, Laila enjoys staying active at the gym, walking in nature, and relaxing with a good movie. Inspired by her grandmother, she loves working at Silverbirch House, where she’s dedicated to making a positive impact on residents’ lives every day.

Maridel joined Silverbirch House after gaining valuable experience at a care home in Cobham and working in social services back home in the Philippines. Her passion for care began when she looked after her mum, inspiring her to dedicate her career to helping others.

My name is Daniel. I began my culinary journey in England in 2015, working as a chef in various care homes.


Having completed all my qualifications, I am now ready and awaiting the opportunity to step into a head chef role.


Cooking runs in my family as both my grandmother and father were chefs, so joining the culinary world felt like a natural path for me. I have a deep passion for creating delicious meals for residents with dysphagia and have specialised training in molecular gastronomy to ensure everyone enjoys their dining experience. I look forward to bringing my skills and passion to the table as I continue to grow in my career.

I started as a general assistant at a Barchester home in West Sussex, doing a mixture of housekeeping and kitchen work.


I started as a carer in 2015 and have been a carer ever since.


I joined the Silverbirch family in June 2025 and have been made to feel very welcome by every member of staff, regardless of their department, and I look forward to caring for your loved ones.
