My mother stayed for 2 weeks at Silverbirch House for respite care. In her own words, "The food was excellent as were the staff who served it. The staff couldn't do enough to help and were wonderful. I felt safe and very well looked after" From a daughter's perspective the home is very well presented giving a hotel feel. The activities are arranged throughout the day and the residents are made to feel welcome and engaged at all times. The phone is always answered swiftly and any issues are attended to immediately. We are both very impressed.

All staff are courteous and attentive to both residents and their families.
The reason I only gave four stars instead of five for facilities is that perhaps, as more residents come, satellite TV could be installed.
And regarding the food and drink category, perhaps a little more could be offered at the entrance cafe, for those who might be a bit hungry outside of meal times.

To always have someone on reception/host would take extra responsibility away from the carers. The lovely receptionist has been caring too.

Review from Kathryn B (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 3 May 2024 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My Grandma has recently moved into this new Barchester home around Feb 2024. She was reluctant at first as she has lived independently for so long (she is 98Yrs). However, she is now so happy with her decision to move and the home's staff have been very supportive of this new chapter of her life. She now loves her new home, the staff are warm and understanding.
I honestly can't fault the care she receives and the facilities. The staff are welcoming, knowledgeable and vigilant. The home has state-of-the-art facilities, which are kept very clean. The property feels very homely and has lovely décor. Every time I go to visit it feels like one big family home. The food and activities are engaging for their residents.
Nice to see a care home ran so well and really taking care of their residents. Each resident is treated with respect and dignity. The care they provide is completely person-centred and all of the residents' wishes are always respected.

I couldn't recommend it enough! Thank you!

I cannot praise the staff and facilities at Barchester Silverbirch House Care Home enough. Ever since my mother took up residence in February 2024, the staff have always been not only professional and helpful but also friendly and approachable. Staff are keen and obviously love their work caring for people. Together with the excellent facilities and setting, Silverbirch is homely, restful and welcoming with a range of activities available to partake in or not as my mother wishes.

My family and I are grateful for all the wonderful assistance that staff have provided. It is reassuring to know that Mother is in the right place to ensure that the 24-hour care she now needs is provided. Thank you.

We are very pleased indeed with the care the staff are taking with Mum. The staff are all very friendly and cheerful. Also, staff have gone out of their way to make Mum feel welcome. Excellent care home, I would recommend. 2 minor points for attention, 1, Smart TVs with elderly confused people? Mum just wanted to press a button and see a particular channel. 2, visitors come and don't sign in, we didn't know who they were. Please ask everyone to identify themselves.
