Hi, my name is Sarah, and I am delighted to be leading the team as the General Manager here at Wimborne Care Home.
I have worked within the care sector since 1991, and I am very passionate about my role and responsibilities. Right from the beginning, I knew that this was where I belonged.
My career began as a Care Assistant in a small independent residential home, and I worked my way up to Senior and then Deputy Manager. After spending 26 years in this one home, I decided it was time to spread my wings and was lucky enough to be offered a Deputy Manager position in a much larger residential home for a growing company. It was only a matter of weeks before I was promoted to General Manager, and I devoted the next 15 months to improving the home and leading and developing the team.
I joined Barchester Healthcare Ltd in July 2018 as a General Manager and I really enjoyed getting to know the company, my home, my staff team, the residents, their families and friends. I spent just over two years in one home as the General Manager, receiving an outstanding Kloe in Caring and Good in the other four kloes in their CQC inspection before transferring to commission a new build in November 2020.
Whilst within the company, I have also supported other homes in the absence of a General Manager and inducted and supported new build General Managers with the commissioning of their homes.
I have experience in turnaround projects and commissioning, and over the years, I have completed an array of training and qualifications in Health and Social Care, and I continually look for ways I can improve my knowledge, skills and my own personal development.
I am very proud of everything I have achieved, and I feel honoured to have spent my entire career doing what I love the most. I feel that there is nothing more rewarding than going home at the end of the day knowing you have made a difference to an individual's life.
With the team at Wimborne, I aim to ensure that we deliver a high standard of person-centred care to those we support, placing them at the heart of everything we do and meeting individual needs with the passion and commitment they deserve.
Hello, I am Corrine. I am delighted to be part of the Leadership team at our happy Wimborne Care Home. I have 23 years of experience in health and social care. I was first attracted to work in this area when my Nan was struggling to cope at home, and I saw the great difference that great care could make to an individual.
I now see the difference that the exceptional care we provide at Wimborne makes to our residents. We have happy residents who are thriving, and this brings me great professional and personal satisfaction.
Hello, I am Doreen
I am delighted to have been invited to be the Ambassador for the Residents here at Wimborne.
I moved in December 2024, after an admission to Queen Alexander Hospital. I wasn't sure at first, but now I truly wouldn't go home; I just love it here. I am always happy to chat with visitors, and for those looking at Wimborne for their loved ones, I want to offer this reassurance: your loved ones are well looked after, and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. I am proud to show my room so that others can see how personalised it is and how comfortable and happy I am.
We are a happy family here, welcoming, and we all get on.
I love that there is lot to do if you want to do it, and the food is out of this world!
Hi, I am Zoe,
I have been working for Barchester for over 4 years and am exceptionally proud to be part of the team here at Wimborne.
I love being an activities coordinator, sharing and bringing all the fun into the home. I relish my days with my wonderful residents; they make my day, and we enjoy great times.
I have a wealth of experience with oodles of energy; I bring the positivity and sunshine with me wherever I go; you will never see me without a smile on my face. I love my job, and Wimborne is just a fantastic home.
Hi, my name is Hayden,
I joined Wimborne 4 years ago. Working in the kitchen in Wimborne is where I found my absolute passion for cooking.
I have worked up to Head Chef, and I really enjoy getting to know our residents, their preferences and providing nutritious and completely delicious food.
I also greatly enjoy our weekly baking club, where I interact more with the residents. We host great parties and special events here at Wimborne, and I have these culinary challenges. I'm always keen to try new things and residents are happy to too.
I've asked our residents what their favourites of my cooking are for my profile, and they have said my Viennese whirls are pretty exceptional, as are my roasts and puddings!
Hi, I'm Billy.
I'm here for the Team - residents and staff, as well as being one of the wonderful Team!
I bring wags and smiles, I'm soft and gentle, keen as mustard with enthusiasm galore, but am calm and wise too.
I can leap onto a lap or sit by someone's feet; I'm simply very adaptable.
I do bring Sharon, she can chat, but I find I create conversation on my own.
I started my love affair with Wimborne when I turned up for International Dog Day, and now I'm a monthly fixture at Doggie Cafe! We have a monthly gathering; I devote an hour to residents, then the community gather adoringly for an hour, and I make myself available. It's the best part of my month as a Pets as Therapy Dog!
Here I am helping Wimborne become, officially, Hayling's Most Dog-Friendly Care Home!
Hi, I am Jilly,
I have been in care all my life; it has been my calling, and I am very proud to be one of the team of Senior Carers here.
I enjoy being able to bring my years of experience at all levels of seniority, sharing my passion and knowledge to the great team here at Wimborne.
A true test of great care is whether you'd bring your parents; I would have no hesitation in entrusting the care of mine to the wonderful team here. The atmosphere here is just wonderful, and the staff are well-led and truly dedicated.
You will always hear me singing the old-time classics around the home, so if there is a favourite song you want to hear, I'm sure I will know it.
Hi, I am Michelle.
I have worked at Wimborne for over 10 years. I started in care 20 years ago, it worked whilst I had a young family, and I realised I'd found my niche. With Wimborne, I found a home where care was done so well and whilst here I have worked my way up to Team Leader, a role I am very proud to have.
I simply love interacting with all our residents, listening to their life stories and creating relationships with their wonderful families. It is great to be in an environment where we all get on together so well and there is so much respect.
Hi, I'm Kate
I work at Wimborne as I have a passion for providing exceptional care and ensuring those living with Dementia have truly fulfilled and happy lives. I am very proud to have progressed to Senior Carer and Dementia champion. I keep learning and am delighted that Barchester support me to do so.
I think of care as a calling, and this is certainly mine.
Hi, I am Andreea,
I joined the happy Wimborne team in July 2025. It is a great place to work. It is unusual in care to have the opportunity to spend quality time with the people you are supporting. Wimborne is wonderful. Here I have got to know residents, learn their stories, chat about their lives and see how interesting and interested they are. It is a fantastic environment for us all to be in, very positive and being here is a real pleasure.
Hi, I am Lucy,
I started working at Wimborne in 2008 as part of the housekeeping team.
It was then that I decided I wanted to become a carer and worked hard to eventually become a Senior Carer.
I really enjoy providing person-centred care to our residents, meeting their family members and being part of a team that provides such love and compassion. I am always happy to go that extra mile for our residents.
Hi, I'm Vivian,
I joined Wimborne in 2024, and I just love working here. The residents are lovely and they make work so easy as they are happy and smiling.

Hi, I am Sadial,
I joined the wonderful Wimborne team in 2023. I have found everyone to be so friendly, both residents and staff. I love how each and every day I feel that I am helping, and that simply makes life better for us all.
I love it when residents love to swap stories, so that we can provide emotional support. I love to chat, and residents are just such good company. My work here is a pleasure, and I enjoy it.
HI, I'm Duncan
This is my first role after graduating, and I came to work at Wimborne as it has such an exceptional reputation locally. I am so pleased to be here.
I particularly like supporting those living with dementia. I have learnt a great deal, and this has helped me with experiences outside of work.
Hi, I'm Rachael
I'm the 'hostess with the mostess'! I help residents with their enjoyment of life, from simple things like ensuring everything is ready for them at meal times to the important things like making sure the right thing happens at the right time in the right place. I know how everyone likes everything and has a keen eye for detail.
I get joy from making people happy, and here, both residents and staff are so kind, all do so appreciate the help, and it is wonderful to feel so valued by everyone.
My experience of working here at Wimborne has been just fantastic, so much so that I'm often in during my own time, and a personal highlight has been a Jive night recently, when I had the great pleasure of dancing with so many of our residents in a real 'night to remember'.
Hi, my name is Gary, and I am responsible for the maintenance of the home and also the gardens.
I love coming to work! I've previously worked in the grounds for the hospitality industry, but I have now been at Wimborne for over 8 years and get a great deal of job satisfaction working here. It is more of a passion than a job, and I am truly proud to work in our residents' home, keeping it looking wonderful.
I take residents out on trips, enjoy their involvement in selecting plants for the home, and even support them in some gardening and maintenance tasks.
Hi, I'm Anthony,
I have a passion for cooking, love food and seeing the joy that my cooking brings, so I really love my work here at Wimborne.
Every day I enjoy my cheerful chats with residents, hearing about their day, sharing news and views, discussing the meals and menus, having appreciative feedback and being part of a brilliant team.
Lasagna is one of my signature dishes, always goes down well, as does a traditional crumble!
Wimborne is just a great place to be.

I'm part-time time but every hour I'm here, I enjoy and knowing I make a difference for residents brings me joy. I love the variety, the staff and absolutely the residents. If I'm outside, they might be with me or giving me a wave from inside. It's a very happy place.
