Wimborne Care Home is a picturesque bungalow set back just off Mengham High Street, in a quiet residential area.

With a wonderful layout of two internal courtyard gardens, a beautiful conservatory where residents can sit and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Nutrition is a key part of health and well-being at Wimborne, which means the home's Academy trained chefs work with all teams to ensure that every resident is catered for.
They only use the freshest ingredients and chefs take great pride in the responsibility of nutrition and enjoy serving their meals in the restaurant-style dining area for the whole home to relax in.

There is a busy and varied activities schedule, created by an award-winning Activities Co-ordinator, this includes group activities, along with one to one activities of each resident's choosing, tailored to their individual request.

The café bistro is open to all, boasting delicious freshly made cakes .

The team at Wimbourne took superb care of my stepmother, from her early stage Alzheimers disease, up to the end of life, a period of two years.
The level of caring offered to her was excellent, universally through the full Wimbourne team. They have my heartfelt thanks and those of the whole family

My mother has been a resident here for 3 years and is now 106 years old.
She has always been treated with kindness and dignity and the staff enjoy looking after her.
She is no longer mobile and staff are always popping in and out of her room to check her.
She always eats her food that is carefully
prepared for her and has to be fed.
I visited many care homes and chose very carefully and have not been disappointed.
All the staff are very kind and appear to enjoy looking after her.
I am so lucky and so is she!

It is a relief to know that my relative is being well looked after by caring and considerate staff. She first moved into the home three years ago at the fine age of 103. The fact that she is still with us now 106 is a testimony to the excellent care she has received from everybody at the home.

The overall care my mother has received over the past three years has been of an excellent standard. The staff are kind and considerate and will listen to her and talk to her whenever possible. The food is of an excellent variety and she looks forward to meal times. The décor is updated on a regular

I visited many care homes before we brought mum to Wimborne Care Home. I must say I was most impressed with it here.
The staff have been so caring and kind to my mum especially recently when she was quite poorly and admitted to hospital she spent three weeks in bed in hospital came back to Wimborne
and the next day I was so impressed to find her up washed and sat in her chair. Mum loves all the staff even though she gets grumpy at times. I couldn't wish for better care for mum as I know how hard it must be sometimes for the staff but they never show anything but kindness and to top it all the food is excellent.

My mother has been a resident at Wimborne Care Home for about 7 months now after being at another care home in Chichester for six years. Wimborne Care Home exceeds our expectations. The décor is wonderful, bright and cheery. The carers are absolutely wonderful and caring is not enough to describe them;
they are so loving to my mother. I put all this down to the manager. She runs the care home brilliantly and has such a professional attitude as well as a caring nature.

Hi, my name is Sarah, and I am delighted to be leading the team as the General Manager here at Wimborne Care Home.


I have worked within the care sector since 1991, and I am very passionate about my role and responsibilities. Right from the beginning, I knew that this was where I belonged.


My career began as a Care Assistant in a small independent residential home, and I worked my way up to Senior and then Deputy Manager. After spending 26 years in this one home, I decided it was time to spread my wings and was lucky enough to be offered a Deputy Manager position in a much larger residential home for a growing company. It was only a matter of weeks before I was promoted to General Manager, and I devoted the next 15 months to improving the home and leading and developing the team.


I joined Barchester Healthcare Ltd in July 2018 as a General Manager and I really enjoyed getting to know the company, my home, my staff team, the residents, their families and friends. I spent just over two years in one home as the General Manager, receiving an outstanding Kloe in Caring and Good in the other four kloes in their CQC inspection before transferring to commission a new build in November 2020.


Whilst within the company, I have also supported other homes in the absence of a General Manager and inducted and supported new build General Managers with the commissioning of their homes.


I have experience in turnaround projects and commissioning, and over the years, I have completed an array of training and qualifications in Health and Social Care, and I continually look for ways I can improve my knowledge, skills and my own personal development.


I am very proud of everything I have achieved, and I feel honoured to have spent my entire career doing what I love the most. I feel that there is nothing more rewarding than going home at the end of the day knowing you have made a difference to an individual's life.


With the team at Wimborne, I aim to ensure that we deliver a high standard of person-centred care to those we support, placing them at the heart of everything we do and meeting individual needs with the passion and commitment they deserve.

I am always happy to chat with visitors, and for those looking at Wimborne for their loved ones, I want to offer this reassurance: your loved ones are well looked after, and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. I am proud to show my room so that others can see how personalised it is and how comfortable and happy I am.

Hi, my name is Hayden,


I joined Wimborne 4 years ago. Working in the kitchen in Wimborne is where I found my absolute passion for cooking.
I have worked up to Head Chef, and I really enjoy getting to know our residents, their preferences and providing nutritious and completely delicious food.


I also greatly enjoy our weekly baking club, where I interact more with the residents. We host great parties and special events here at Wimborne, and I have these culinary challenges. I'm always keen to try new things and residents are happy to too.


I've asked our residents what their favourites of my cooking are for my profile, and they have said my Viennese whirls are pretty exceptional, as are my roasts and puddings!

I'm here for the Team - residents and staff, as well as being one of the wonderful Team!


I bring wags and smiles, I'm soft and gentle, keen as mustard with enthusiasm galore, but am calm and wise too.
I can leap onto a lap or sit by someone's feet; I'm simply very adaptable.


I do bring Sharon, she can chat, but I find I create conversation on my own.


I started my love affair with Wimborne when I turned up for International Dog Day, and now I'm a monthly fixture at Doggie Cafe! We have a monthly gathering; I devote an hour to residents, then the community gather adoringly for an hour, and I make myself available. It's the best part of my month as a Pets as Therapy Dog!


Here I am helping Wimborne become, officially, Hayling's Most Dog-Friendly Care Home!

I work at Wimborne as I have a passion for providing exceptional care and ensuring those living with Dementia have truly fulfilled and happy lives. I am very proud to have progressed to Senior Carer and Dementia champion. I keep learning and am delighted that Barchester support me to do so.

I'm the 'hostess with the mostess'! I help residents with their enjoyment of life, from simple things like ensuring everything is ready for them at meal times to the important things like making sure the right thing happens at the right time in the right place. I know how everyone likes everything and has a keen eye for detail.


I get joy from making people happy, and here, both residents and staff are so kind, all do so appreciate the help, and it is wonderful to feel so valued by everyone.


My experience of working here at Wimborne has been just fantastic, so much so that I'm often in during my own time, and a personal highlight has been a Jive night recently, when I had the great pleasure of dancing with so many of our residents in a real 'night to remember'.

Hi, my name is Gary, and I am responsible for the maintenance of the home and also the gardens.


I love coming to work! I've previously worked in the grounds for the hospitality industry, but I have now been at Wimborne for over 8 years and get a great deal of job satisfaction working here. It is more of a passion than a job, and I am truly proud to work in our residents' home, keeping it looking wonderful.


I take residents out on trips, enjoy their involvement in selecting plants for the home, and even support them in some gardening and maintenance tasks.

I have a passion for cooking, love food and seeing the joy that my cooking brings, so I really love my work here at Wimborne.

Lasagna is one of my signature dishes, always goes down well, as does a traditional crumble!
