Hi, my name is Sarah and I am very excited to be joining the team as the General Manager here at Wimborne Care Home.
I have worked within the care sector since 1991 and I am very passionate about my role and responsibilities. Right from the beginning, I knew that this was where I belonged.
My career began as a Care Assistant in a small independent residential home, and I worked my way up to Senior and then Deputy Manager. After spending 26 years in this one home, I decided it was time to spread my wings and was lucky enough to be offered a Deputy Manager position in a much larger residential home for a growing company. It was only a matter of weeks before I was promoted to General Manager and I devoted the next 15 months to improving the home and leading and developing the team.
I joined Barchester Healthcare Ltd in July 2018 as a General Manager and I really enjoyed getting to know the company, my home, my staff team, the residents and their families and friends. I spent just over two years in one home as the General Manager receiving an outstanding Kloe in Caring and good in the other four kloes in their CQC inspection before transferring to commission a new build in November 2020.
Whilst within the company I have also supported other homes in the absence of the General Manager and inducted and supported new build General Managers with the commissioning of their homes.
I have experience in turn-around projects and commissioning and over the years, I have completed an array of training and qualifications in Health and Social Care, and I continually look for ways I can improve my knowledge, skills and my own personal development.
I am very proud of everything I have achieved and I feel honoured to have spent my entire career doing what I love the most and feel that there is nothing more rewarding than going home at the end of the day knowing you have made a difference to a person’s life.
I am excited to be offered the position of General Manager and join the team at Wimborne and I aim to ensure, as a team, that we deliver a high standard of person-centred care to those we support, placing them at the heart of everything we do and meeting individual needs with the passion and commitment they deserve.
I am so excited to be part of the team at Wimborne Care home. I have 19 years experience within health and social care. I am experienced in both domiciliary and within residential\nursing homes. I am looking forward to working here and help our wonderful residents.

Hi, My name is Hayden I joined Wimborne Care Home a year ago working in the kitchen where I found my passion for cooking, I have now stepped up to head chef and I am really enjoying getting to know the residents more about what they do and don't like and providing nutritious and flavoursome food. I also enjoy our weekly baking club where I can interact more with the residents and have signed up to complete qualifications in catering. I have worked at Wimborne for 7 years. I have worked in care for 17 years starting off as a Carer and working my way up to team leader. I love interacting with all the residents listening to their life stories and creating relationships with the wonderful families.
I started working at Wimborne in 2008 as part of the housekeeping team.
It was then I decided I wanted to become a carer and worked hard to eventually become a senior carer I really enjoy providing person-centred care to our residents, meeting family members and being a part of a team that provides such love and compassion.
I have been in care all my life and am excited for a new challenge as a senior carer. I look forward to being able to bring my years of experience and knowledge and join this great team here at Wimborne care home.
You will always hear me singing the old-time classics around the home so if there is a favourite song you want to hear I'm sure I will know it.
