This care home is absolutely first class. As a retired GP and with hospital experience of geriatrics I have visited dozens of care homes: this is the best one I have seen. A perfect score of 100% slightly spoiled by the very intrusive constant high-pitched bleeping on the corridor. This was less intrusive on subsequent days: but you might want to consider altering the pitch &/or sharpness.

My father transferred to Fairview House from a care home in England that had not provided the best care for him and we had several issues with that Care Home.
Within 30 minutes of his arrival at Fairview House, it became obvious that dad was in the safest of hands, which was such a relief for the family. He is 92, completely blind and has late stage Alzheimer's. From receiving a phone call from the administrator Cecilia telling me he had arrived and then meeting the carers and nurses, it became apparent that Fairview offers care that is second to none. He had arrived after a 7 hour journey by ambulance. Immediately assessed for any physical or medical needs on arrival and settled into his room and fed.

He has been there just over a week now and I cannot say enough good things about all the staff at this home. Everyone is caring and interested in him and his past and me as his family member. Well done Fairview and thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My mum has been in Fairview House for 8 weeks now and she absolutely loves it....all the staff are absolutely wonderful with her...have seen such a difference in her she's more alive now and is interacting with other residents and with the activities available...the only down side is the food situation but that isn't on Fairview it's mum herself isn't eating much but she's been that way before she went into care...overall we as a family are extremely happy with everything....

My Mum & Dad moved into Fairview in 2017. They had 2 happy years together before my Dad passed away in 2019.
The whole team (admin, nursing staff, carers, catering, housekeeping & hairdressing) give 100% to look after the residents.
Catering provide excellent, healthy meals and Mum now enjoys her food - even gets a cake on her birthday.
The activities team work at entertaining everyone with wide variety of activities every day.
The home is kept immaculately clean by the housekeeping staff.
Carers look after my Mums personal care and she is always well dressed.
All the staff are very welcoming to visitors- always a smile and warm greeting.
Nursing staff are excellent in communicating any issues to family.

I do not have enough space to say a big thank to everyone for my Mums care - I would certainly recommend Fairview to anyone who is looking for residential care for their loved ones.

My wife had to be admitted to Fairview following a catastrophic sub-arachnoid haemorrhage in June 2025. As you can imagine, this came totally out of the blue and was completely unexpected. Despite having gone through such a traumatic episode, we were faced with the fact that she would not be coming home. I was a Senior Nurse so my expectations were extremely high. We chose four possibilities, but to be honest, in every way, Fairview was way ahead, and we were so pleased that Mum was offered a place at Fairview. From visiting other care homes , there really was only one which was streets ahead of the others - Fairview. My wife took some time to settle as she didn't understand that Fairview was her new home. Before we were leaving her we would tell a member of staff who came to be with her to make our departure so much easier. I am so happy with the standard of care, the facilities and just the whole feeling of homeliness. I can relax in the knowledge that my wife is well cared for.

Mum could not continue to stay in her own home safely, and so much research was done to make sure the best home was found. In my opinion Fairview nursing home is one of the best homes in Aberdeen, and so the family chose here for mum.

Mum enjoyed almost 6 months at Fairview. The staff all went beyond the extra mile to make sure all their residents feel special and cared for. Mum needed quite a lot of care towards the end of her chapter and Fairview staff were so professional and caring towards her. The atmosphere at Fairview is so welcoming and you could turn up at any time of the day and always treated the same way, with happy friendly staff. They always made you feel welcome and could update you on any aspect of mums care and wellbeing. It was reassuring that mum was in the best place and family could relax knowing this. Mum was always presented nice and clean and enjoyed the meals. I would certainly recommend Fairview to anyone looking for that extra special place to stay.

When we start out, we look for the perfect care home (just as when we imagine our perfect boyfriend/girlfriend. As we mature we realise that no one and nowhere is perfect in the sense of having no faults, weaknesses, limitations...but don't give up on "perfect" because we CAN find the perfect person FOR US and the perfect place FOR US. In that sense, Barchester's Fairview Care Home in Aberdeen is the perfect place for my Mam (for 3 years now). We, the Management and Staff, Residents, Family and Friends, are doing our best, working hard, being imaginative and creative, as a team, indeed an extended family, in the common desire to make Fairview House a HOME for our loved ones. Perfect homes should not be measured by facilities and brochures so much as by their vision, work rate, steady improvements, ambitions and loving care. So, all things considered, I am giving Barchester's Fairview Care Home 10 out of 10, and the 10 this time is even better than the 10 last time!
