My mum had a short stay at Wilton place for respite.

The staff were great and so kind to my mum. They made her feel very welcome and so did the residents. The food was lovely. I was happy to leave my mum there as I knew she was well cared for.

Thank you so much for your review, it was an absolute pleasure to care for her and the whole team were sad to see her go home at the end of her respite stay. It was lovely to see you again when you visited last week, the invitation is open for her to return at any time!

Wishing you both all the best.

My parents were one of the first residents at this new home in Wilton, very near to where we live. Sadly my father died after 3 months but my mother only died this week (aged 102) after a total of 3.5 years at the home. I cannot praise the home more highly, their care has been exemplary, the staff without exception being kind, compassionate and supportive to both my parents and my family. The building is beautifully maintained and attractive and great efforts are made to keep the residents happy, occupied and supported. I can also vouch for the food having eaten there with my Mum many times with superb buffet lunches provided for my mum's family birthday parties. The home is a great credit to Antoinette, the manager, and we will miss our frequent visits there.

Wow, the end of an era but I know that you will continue to visit us and the residents as you did last week!

Your Mum was a special lady and loved by all here at Wilton Place, your daily visits where you also gave your time to converse with other residents too was so special. There is a big hole...

Love the atmosphere of the home. It seems bright and "living", busy. Love seeing the school children visiting, all the residents really perk up.
All the staff are friendly, kind and always happy to help.

I think it's as good a home as it gets largely due to the hard work of the staff.

Staff friendly and efficient, and go out of their way to look after and cater to one's needs, especially when staying for respite care after hospital stay.
Food not totally to my liking, but then that is a matter of taste and what one is used to at home.
Factilities re bedroom/bathroom spotless.

They go out of their way to provide varied entertainment and stimulation.

What a fabulous experience from Mum going in for 2 weeks' respite care, to her deciding to stay permanently. Friendly, professional staff made it all so easy.
Beautiful rooms and facilities. Nourishing food with plenty of choice each day.
Wilton Place feels like a wonderful care home but looks like a high end hotel.

Highly recommended.

My husband has been well looked after, with gentle encouragement to do things, where possible, and join in group activities. Staff have asked questions about usual routines and tried to keep things familiar for him. The staff are always patient and caring in dealing with him.

The building is beautifully clean and light, with plenty of windows, and varied, bright pictures everywhere on the corridors.

It was Mum's 90th birthday today and we held a small family lunch party at Wilton Place. It was wonderful and exceeded our expectations. Mum was awake and engaging and thoroughly enjoyed the lunch. I must thank the staff at Wilton Place who care for her, those who care for her, those who provided a superb meal and all the administrative team who prepared a very special day for us.

My overall experience has been positive, the staff all displayed great care and understanding of my needs, they were proactive in caring for my wellbeing. On a day to day level the variety of entertainment was good, even if I didn't always want to engage it was done positively not patronisingly. The food and drink variety was excellent.

My mother has come in to care due to a stroke and needs a lot more support than could be given in her own home, she has been gradually settling in, the staff have been very good with her, she does need encouragement to join in with activities , but they are working on that, this care home feels more boutique hotel than what you perceive quite often what a care home is like, so if anyone is looking for somewhere for them self or relative I recommend going along for a tour round. There are lots of activities each day, a choice of food on the menu each day, in the dining rooms, or can have their meals in their room, there is a cinema room, hairdressing salon etc

The gardens are a lovely place to have a coffee and a chat.

Wilton Place certainly makes the most of a challenging site, on a slope with limited space for development. The exterior of the building presents clean, attractive lines with a pleasing combination of materials and colour scheme.
The interior decoration is interesting and eye-catching and the floor plan on each level is well thought out with plenty of space on the landings and main connecting walkways. The rooms are comfortable and well-decorated with pleasant soft furnishings.
The staff are cheerful, friendly and in the main local people, which makes a great difference to ease of communication and interaction. The first impression on reception is helpful, polite and welcoming.

One could probably settle to a pleasant life at Wilton Place in one's declining years.

My mother went to Barchester Wilton Place Care Home for respite care in April 2023 and liked it so much she decided to move in permanently. She stayed there until autumn 2024 when she needed extra care. She really enjoyed all the activities and her room, she loved sitting on her patio outside and socialising in the bistro. The staff were excellent, some visiting her on their own time while she was in hospital. It was such a special place for her that we mentioned her time there in her eulogy. Thank you to Wilton Place and their sister home for making her last years so special.

At the beginning of December 2024, I had to find a care home for my father at very short notice. Barchester Wilton Place Care Home was recommended to me and I was able to visit almost straight away. They made everything so easy, were kind, understanding and communicative. My father was able to move in within a week and has settled with absolutely no problems. He is comfortable, cared for, shown respect and thanks to the staff and wonderful environment of the home, has settled very quickly.
