Oaklands Care Home is a truly wonderful place that provides both comfort and high-quality care. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere that immediately puts residents and visitors at ease.

The staff are exceptional-kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. They take the time to get to know each resident personally, ensuring that everyone feels valued and respected. It's clear that they go above and beyond to create a supportive and friendly environment.

The home itself is clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed to be both safe and comfortable. Residents are encouraged to stay active and engaged, with a variety of activities and social opportunities available.

Overall, Oaklands Care Home stands out for its compassionate staff and homely feel. It's a place where residents are not just cared for, but truly looked after with dignity and warmth.

1. Julia's ninth month here, so her routine & mine are settled.
2. I continue to be amazed at the 'efficiency' of the home, from manager to carers & nurses, to kitchen, cleaning & activity staff - a well oiled-machine. This is what matters.
3. Ease of visiting, space, calmness as always.

4. Emotionally, of course, much more difficult; no-one can like their loved-one in a care home, even one as good as this. Julia is kept safe, but I can't forget that I'd want her to be nearer.

My husband became a resident of Oaklands Care Home in February 2025. I have been impressed by the care and dedication of the staff and I feel reassured that he is well looked after. Relinguishing the responsibility of caring for a close relative is not easy; the manager and staff recognise this and have been a great support to me over the these last three months.

I chose Barchester Oaklands for all that it offered (after a very disappointing experience in his first care home) - safety, care, stimulation, engagement, dedicated - long serving staff and the promise of being person-centred & I have not been disappointed. From day one of dad moving in he has been happy & settled, which is a true reflection on the caring & compassionate relationships he has with all members of staff & residents. Not only has dad been welcomed into the home, but I have too. From the moment you step through the front doors you are always greeted with a warm welcome from reception and management. It really feels like everyone is all part of dad's extended family. The care staff are amazing - it is always a calm environment, they are so helpful in having dad ready to go out on the days I take him to groups and welcome him home with such warmth. The activities are endless and vary to ensure everyones needs are met. I am kept involved informed & updated. Thank you!

We moved my Father from his previous care home in Huntingdon due to poor entertainment engagement by staff and lack of security by the care home.
Barchester Oaklands has welcomed Dad with so much respect, support and every day there is a variety of onsite and offsite activities and events planned to engage the minds of the residents and bring smiles to their faces.

The home feels like a safe and engaging community with residents, staff and visitors all respectful, friendly and welcoming.

My dad has recently arrived at this care home and our family cannot fault the care he is receiving. All of the staff - nurses, carers, maintenance, cleaners - everyone has been so friendly and attentive. Dad is in a spacious and well-maintained room and we have been encouraged to bring things in from home to make it feel like his space. The staff have made a real effort to get to know us, as a family, and also learn about Dad's interests and history so that they can talk to him about those things. The food options are great and have been tailored to Dad's own requirements and preferences - he certainly never goes hungry! The care, attention, respect and empathy he and us, as a family, have received has been fabulous. Dad is comfortable, happy and settled. We couldn't ask for more.

Mum has been here since February and I am very pleased with her care. The staff are lovely and the rooms are very spacious and nicely decorated. The food is good and Mum enjoys the variety. We are also very happy with the activities here. We have enjoyed pudding clubs, a classic car show and look forward to this weekend's fete. This care home is a vast improvement from the previous home my mum was in. Excellent.

Warm and welcoming when you enter Barchester Oaklands Care Home in reception. Staff in the reception area, activity coordinators, carers, cleaners, caretakers are all friendly and cheerful and helpful. Flexible visiting hours are a plus. Cafe area in reception is good for meeting others in a similar position. It provides a forum for support from peers. My husband seems settled and I feel he's in a safe place.

I have really enjoyed my time here at Barchester Oaklands Care Home. I never expected it to be this good however the care I received was great from both nurses and care staff. Whilst staying with you, I had an appointment come up for the hospital and without giving it a second thought, Oaklands organised transport for me with your staff which was invaluable to me. The activity team are excellent at finding time to chat with me and also finding activities for individuals and groups.

Since my dad became a resident at Barchester Oaklands in 2021, our experience has been very positive. The staff members are not just professional but also exceptionally friendly, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere every time I visit. They welcome my input greatly, always encouraging me to share my thoughts and opinions to tailor my dad's care to his needs and personality. I have been particularly impressed with how the unit manager's proactively seek feedback. They regularly check in to ensure I'm satisfied and address any concerns I might have. This level of attentiveness is a real strength. What also stands out if the varied range of activities on offer. The activity coordinators are full of energy and enthusiasm, always eager to listen to new ideas and bring them to life. Their commitment to caring to individual interests and needs is truly commendable. Overall, our experience at Oaklands has been hugely positive and I'm deeply grateful for the wonderful care and attention my dad receives.
