My Nan became a resident in 2019 (as she has dementia) & she really didn't want to stay at first but then my nan got some friends & went to all the activities that were available.

The staff are brilliant, they all do there most to make residents & visitors at ease & l know my Nan is getting the best care.

My mum went into Rose Lodge in October 2025 for end of life cancer care. She received excellent care throughout from all the staff, who were competent and compassionate. The room was comfortable and cosy. The home offers a range of entertainment activities, which although mum wasn't able to participate in I witnessed going on around us and was very impressed.

I'd like to thank all at Rose Lodge for helping to make a horrible situation a bit more bearable.

The carers at Rose Lodge treated my grandma with respect and compassion, even though she was not always the easiest woman to care for. During her final days, every single member of staff went out of their way to look after her and make sure we, her family, had everything we needed - they were amazing. Choosing a care home for your loved ones is never easy, but I'm so glad we chose Rose Lodge for grandma. Thank you again to all the wonderful staff.

My husband was admitted to Rose Lodge for an assessment period after a hospital stay.

The care he received at Rose Lodge was exemplary and had the facility been closer to home for my visits we would have been happy for him to remain there. However a room has been found for him in King's Lynn and I/we are both grateful and pleased with his time at Rose Lodge.

Thank you to the Rose Lodge team for the care and support they have given Dad over the last few weeks.
Dad was discharged from Hospital & arrived worried for his safety and very anxious of his surroundings.
By the end of the first evening, the team had managed to reassure him and get him settled for a good night's rest;
Since that first day he has gone from strength to strength. His diabetes is under control; he can walk with just a stick & enjoys socialising, playing cards & Dominoes.
He has regained his interest in Bingo & thoroughly enjoys his wine and cheese tasting afternoons.

I can not thank you enough

My mother lived at Rose Lodge for 3 1/2 years. She died on 29th April 2025 peacefully. I was touched by how affected all of the staff were at her passing. I was very impressed by how little I was expected to do. They arranged for all unwanted items to be cleared from her room and nothing was too much trouble. Representatives & residents came to the funeral and a wake held at the home. I couldn't fault the treatment given by Rose Lodge.

I visited Rose Lodge every week my partner was there with a female friend/driver - we were both very impressed by the care and facilities, especially by the carers cleaning and catering staff. Even the corridor had interesting pictures and objects and there was a lovely dining room. Of the caring staff - a male who seemed to understand someone who could be difficult - Thank. His room overlooked a lovely garden which he loved.

I have no complaints and offer grateful thanks that his last weeks of life were as comfortable as they were.

Mum was at Rose Lodge from July 2024 until January 2025 and we'll always be grateful to all at Rose Lodge for everything they did for Mum. The care and love that the staff gave to Mum from the day she arrived through to January will always mean so much to us all. Over those few short but treasured months, they built such amazing relationships with Mum that they became good friends and even like a second family to Mum. So many of the staff also always showed kindness and thoughtfulness to my Dad and the rest of us on our many visits to see Mum over that time. We always felt at home when we visited. Overall there really are no words that could thank them enough.

My friend has been in the home 6 years and loves it here. They join in all activities and sometimes just like to watch. They have made a lot of friends here and they enjoy the nice food. All the staff in the home are very friendly and my friend's room is always kept very clean. My friend loves sitting in the lovely garden in the summer, and likes to be with people and doesn't like being on their own.

My friend feels safe in the home.

I would 100% NOT recommend this care home! There are some lovely staff there but sadly due to poor management, the care and professional standards are not good enough. I question what quality assurance processes they have in place to monitor the care, professional standards at ALL levels, processes of care, medication, etc. In my 25 years in senior education and care, I have not witnessed such poor communication from management when raising a concern which concerns me greatly that voices are not heard.

Mum was transferred to Barchester Rose Lodge Care Home after a three-week stay in hospital. Mum was not fully fit and was anxious and frightened. She soon settled in her comfy room and began to integrate with other residents, gained weight, joined in activities and flourished. A room became vacant and Mum moved downstairs for several weeks respite care. Her room was comfortable with an interesting view over the car park and garden, where she enjoyed watching the comings and goings of staff and visitors. The staff would always smile and wave. The staff have been amazing, Mum felt loved, respected and very well cared for, she also felt very safe. I was always kept updated and felt very happy that she was surrounded by such loving, dedicated and genuine people.

Mum went into Barchester Rose Lodge Care Home for respite but felt so safe and well cared for there that she stayed. She always said how lovely all the staff were and how nice it was to always have someone around if she needed them. From the moment she moved in, we all felt a sense of relief to know that she was safe. But so much more than that too. We started to see her join in with things again, whether that was knitting, bingo, arts and crafts sessions or singing along to the singers who come into the home regularly. A part of her we’d known as children came back to us all. Always on her terms though! If she didn’t want to join in, there was nothing on earth that could persuade her - but the staff soon got to know her character and knew how to get the best from her. Person-centred care is something Rose Lodge is particularly good at, for the residents but also for their loved ones too. So thank you to every member of staff who looked after Mum and us so wonderfully. I will be forever grateful.

My mum moved into Rose Lodge in August 2023 for two weeks of respite, but at the point of her return home, she said she wanted to stay.
She died at Rose Lodge in February 2024. The time she had in Rose Lodge was for her and her family, mostly a very positive experience. Mum found a new lease of life. She began to engage in various activities and enjoyed socialising with staff and other residents. Although Mum is not here to give her comments to this review, she had frequently told us that the staff were all lovely and she liked that she could have as many cups of tea as she wanted and didn’t have to pay a penny! Mum always greeted us with a smile when we visited and she had lots to talk about. I will always remember that she took up knitting again, something she used to do when we were children and it was lovely to see her enjoy this once more.

Without exception, the staff were all amazing, and I will forever be grateful that Mum spent the last six months of her life at Rose Lodge.
