Set in beautiful grounds, Lakeside Manor is a luxurious home at Lakeside Care Village in Jersey.

Lakeside Manor offers residential, nursing and respite care as well as specialist Dementia care in smaller, boutique communities within the home. Care is delivered by highly trained professionals in comfortable surroundings that are both homely and welcoming.

The bedrooms are large and are all ensuite and invite residents to personalise if they wish.

The communal areas provide a variety of different environments for the residents to enjoy, varying from a restaurant-style dining room to the outside terrace.

The home also has an onsite café which is stocked throughout the day with homemade cakes and treats. All friends and families are welcome to visit.

The philosophy is simple. Lakeside Manor wants everyone to enjoy life to the full and never lose sight of the individuality of the residents and treat them with dignity, privacy and respect while offering freedom of choice and as much independence as possible.

Residents have freedom to choose what to do and when. There is always plenty of activity happening and the activities coordinator puts together a full 7 days a week programme which is adapted to suit the needs and wishes of residents.

Activities include quizzes, sing-alongs, reminiscence therapy, indoor games, art and craft, baking and wherever possible, trips out and about. The home also has a sensory garden and a lake where residents can spend time in the tranquil settings of Lakeside Village.

My mother has been a resident of Lakeside Manor since September 2025. I am so impressed with the social, physical and mental health care my Mum receives. The atmosphere is very welcoming, afternoon activities are engaging and the staff are excellent. The building itself is lovely especially the patio
on a warm sunny day. It gives me such peace of mind knowing she is so well taken care of.

My mother who passed away on 27th Jan 2026 has been a resident in Lakeside Manor Care Home for 3 1/2 years. The care she received from the staff was excellent and I will be eternally grateful to them giving me peace of mind as to the way they administered her care, nothing was never to much trouble
and I was always kept informed of any health issues she may have had, and lastly when it came to end of life care it was a pain free and peaceful end to life for my mother and were very kind and compassionate to me.
Reply from Sindy Gartshore, General Manager at Barchester Lakeside ManorMany Thanks for your lovely review of the home and your experience, it was a pleasure to care for mum, your kind words I will share with the team.

The team have been looking after my wife for 6 months. She has advanced Dementia and I am very happy with the manner in which they care and manage my wife's condition. All touch points from Reception through care to nursing are excellent. The management are friendly and caring. Any clinical emergencies
are handled professionally and with the urgency they require.

The building and facilities are very clean and inviting and all visitors and family are treated to a five star service and welcome.

I sleep well at night knowing she is well cared for.

We looked at homes for my husband in Feb 2025. Lakeside we found to be the most friendly, inclusive and welcoming from the moment we walked in and still find this so, from the admin and reception staff to carers, nurses & hospitality and activities staff. We take our young grandchildren in frequently
and staff & residents are welcoming and kind to them. The meals & snacks provided always look and taste very good and hospitality staff so helpful.
The biggest critism I have is that despite all my husbands clothes being labelled with his name he is often wearing clothes that are not his. It would also be helpful if any changes were communicated to relatives and reasons such as for moving residents out of the reception areas.
Overall very happy

My mum has been at Lakeside since 2023, naturally, it was the next necessary step for my mum's safety and well-being, thank goodness we were offered a place, it was life-changing for all of us!
My mum is always clean, well-presented, in her own clothes, well fed and cared for. Regular phone calls with
updates on health, activities and any questions. My dad visits almost daily and is always treated with kindness and respect, never being made to feel in the way.
The Registered Manager is so professional, warm-hearted, friendly and caring individual, she immediately put us at ease and really cared about our family situation. She was so compassionate when discussing how exhausting it had been having her at home 24/7 even though she had properly heard it so many times!
The staff are extremely well trained, offer person-centred care and are always supportive, our family will never be able to thank them enough.
Reply from Rosie Goulding, Home Manager/RGN at Barchester Lakeside ManorThank you for taking the time to review our service. It is a pleasure to be part of your mum's life. We love to see your dad and mum eating lunch together as they have done for so many years.

The lady staying here is very happy and loves it here. I visit every day and everything here is excellent. The activities here are also excellent but I guess you can never have too many. We (friends/relatives) feel very assured that the lady is safe and well cared for in such a lovely place. Like a

Overall, Mum's time at Barchester Lakeside Manor has been a good experience. It took her a while to settle but we were assured this was all perfectly normal behaviour. The staff have been nothing but patient, caring and very understanding of both Mum and myself as we adjusted to her living at Lakeside.
Mum thrives in this environment and the staff clearly love her.

My stepmother had been a resident for sixteen months, during which time she had the best care I could have hoped for. The staff are amazing and the senior manager was ever the caring professional when my stepmother passed away unexpectedly one morning. In the sad event that anyone needs to find a care
home placement, if they can be accommodated at Barchester Lakeside Manor they will be in good hands.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.594)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.594) out of 10 for Barchester Lakeside Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 14 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.744 for Barchester Lakeside Manor is calculated as follows: ( (124 Excellents x 5) + (38 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 164 Ratings = 4.744
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.85 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Barchester Lakeside Manor is based on 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.85
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2, which has been reached with 14 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
