All the staff are friendly, caring and always helpful. There is always something for the residents to do and enjoy. There seems to be a lot of thought that goes into the activities. I like the fact that the staff know all the residents' names and they treat them with respect.

My dad has dementia and moved into Lakeside after a really difficult time. He was confused and upset and struggling to communicate with other residents at his previous home. Within weeks of moving into Lakeside, his confidence started to grow and he started to go to activities again. He is clearly happy at Lakeside and the staff are wonderful with him, both caring for him and trying to find new activities to interest him. They have made him feel happy and comfortable and I am so grateful to them.

Lakeside Manor is very welcoming to all new residents and continues to care for them well. The majority of the staff are excellent. The two ladies who organise the entertainment are very, very good. The first floor looks after the more demanding residents and I feel that the staff at times are pushed to the limit and perhaps more staff are required. The manager of that floor is excellent.

Having had to make the difficult decision to place my husband in care I am so pleased to have chosen Barchester Lakeside Manor. I could not wish for better care for him. The staff take time to get to know the resident and how best to look after them. Always kind and patient. The facilities are light and spacious and daily activities are provided. Both residents and relatives are well supported.

My husband has been a resident in Lakeside Manor for 10 months now and I am delighted with his care there. He is happy and content and loves the staff.
The staff work extremely hard but always have time for a smile and fun with residents.

The staff always make me feel welcome when I visit and are approachable if I have any concerns or queries and nothing is ever too much trouble.

My father is on the dementia floor and has been a resident since August 2021. I think that the staff are marvellous and deserve a gold medal as some of the residents here are extremely difficult at times, my dad is not one of those but I admire the carers and how they deal with some very difficult situations. I feel that maybe there should be more entertainment for them at times but what entertainment they do have is very good. The staff are lovely and I would think the residents are very happy here.

My mum and dad came to Lakeside Manor in January 2017. Dad past away last March. The staff have been very caring to mum, now on her own and were exceptional during the coronavirus. We (family) are allowed to visit in the foyer.

Moving Dad into a care home was a very difficult decision, but after viewing several homes, we decided that Lakeside Manor looked the most inviting. From the beautiful decor of the foyer with its comfy chairs and cheerful background music to the lovely light and airy cafe area with its constant supply of tea, coffee and freshly baked cake that makes you feel extremely welcome and is a great space for families to visit their loved ones. The dining area is laid out like a restaurant with a three-course menu on display for both lunch and dinner, and family members are even invited to have the occasional meal with their loved one. We can’t thank the staff enough for their care and dedication and in my Dad's own words ‘the staff are superb’. Thank you, Lakeside Manor; you are amazing!

The staff at Lakeside have been phenomenal, particularly during this pandemic, and especially one carer.

She has gone above and beyond her daily duties, providing our family with regular phone and video updates of our father. She cares for him like she would her own family member. Nothing is too much trouble. We can’t thank her enough. She is a true angel in our eyes and during this difficult time, we know that he is in the best possible place and being cared for to the highest standards. Thank you so very much.

My father has come to Lakeside Care Home after being hospitalized with a severe uti and being unable to stand. Lakeside made the transfer from hospital easy. The whole team act in a caring and friendly manner. We expected him to be well looked after, we have been delighted by the warmth shown to him and all his visitors. The meals he receives look tempting, there is a good choice and when he eats in his room the plates and food are warm. Lakeside is providing him with excellent support.

Thank you.

My 92 year old Mum has been in Lakeside previously for respite and now residing in Lakeside Manor. As a family, we had visited and researched many homes prior to choosing Lakeside. The overwhelming factor on entry is the cleanliness and decor. It felt as though Mum would be in her own little flat, surrounded by trained, friendly staff who would care for her and we have found this to be the case:- from reception/admin/nursing/care/activities staff and management are a credit to Barchester and as a family we thank you.

My father-in-law entered Lakeside Manor having stopped all his medication and refusing to eat. This was on 28th May. By the Saturday, he was up and dressed and eating breakfast in the dining room. He has had some ups and downs over the last few weeks but the staff have been extremely patient and kind with him as well as encouraging. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for him.

Would just like to say a massive thank you to all the staff at Lakeside Care Home for looking after my Nan. I haven't seen her look this well in months and I even heard her speak for the first time in way too long. She hasn't even been there a month and her progress already is amazing. Would also like to thank the staff from Lakeside Manor who have taken time out of their day to go and visit her. She really is being treated like 'The Queen' that she is. Can't thank you guys enough.

Exceeded all expectations. All aspects of Dad's care were met with an empathy tailored to his particular needs. Therefore I had complete peace of mind knowing that both his physical and emotional needs were met with compassion and expertise. A wonderful environment for him to have lived his final years. Endless patience and understanding in sometimes challenging times. Thank you so much from all who loved him.
