Dad needed high quality nursing care following a stay in hospital, so we chose Ashchurch View. The care he has received so far has been first class- everyone is so friendly and professional, and the home is very well equipped to cater for dad's needs. Thank you so much for easing our worries as we know

I was so pleased I put dad into this care home. At first he wasn't too happy but eventually he settled in and for most enjoyed the peace. The company of carers looking after him. The nurses keeping an eye on him. He enjoyed watching the TV in his room. The food and drink was excellent He always looked
so clean shaven and tidy, right up till the end.

My husband has been in the Red Rose Suite for dementia care since 4/1/25 and I chose Ashchurch View care homebecause my dad had been a resident there 7 years ago and I was so impressed with the level of care and ambience of the home. I am of the same opinion now with the care my husband has received
this year. All my impressions have convinced me that the carers are second to none are always cheerful, supportive and they provide the best quality of life possible - plenty of lively activities catering for all tastes. The food is excellent and very tasty and everyone works as a team to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere and they are supportive to residents and relatives alike in what can be a traumatic time when decisions have to be made to leave your own home. I feel very reassured that my husband is receiving the best possible care.

I was shown around by the receptionist, without haste and plenty of time to ask questions. The home was clean & tidy, everyone staff and residents spoke to us, residents appear happy and content. The home has a good layout, a nice courtyard, garden in the centre. Everyone was welcoming. We spoke with
the manager again, no haste and our questions answered. We were very happy with what we saw and Dad has moved in.

I have been visiting Ashchurch View for over 5 years with my Pets as Therapy dog. That says a lot about the home and the quality of care I've personally seen over that time
We always receive a very warm welcome from staff and residents alike.
The rooms are lovely and spacious and clean and well maintained.
There
is always an excellent display of flowers and plants as you approach the home. You can tell that a lot of work and pride goes into the gardens
Ashchurch View are very fortunate to have their activities coordinator as their activities coordinator. The range of events and outings she has introduced is brilliant. She is very caring and tries to make a difference to every resident.
I've also been told by a number of the residents that the food is delicious too.

Mum moved in after discharge from hospital. She had had two strokes and two falls and been very poorly. It was sad to realise she could no longer live independently at home. Ashchurch View was recommended to me, and I am so glad it was!
Despite not wanting to go into residential care my mum had settled
in within a few days and now, five weeks later she is really happy and calls it her forever home. The venue is spotlessly clean and the meals a very high standard. But most importantly is the quality of the care and nursing staff. My mum loves every one of the team that take care of her. They are kind, friendly, warm and compassionate. Mum says she feels so safe and secure and doesn't need to worry about anything as it's all done for her. There are activities and clubs twice a day so already mum has made new friends. As for me, well I have peace of mind knowing mum is being supported and cared for by people she likes and in a place that is beautiful, warm and safe.

Warm welcoming and friendly positive vibes! Tiny suggestions: - Food is good - but could be a bit warmer - Staff are lovely but resident wishes they could come quicker when button is pressed.
- If possible please encourage father in law to interact with activities/spend time in the lounge. Thank you

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.630)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.630) out of 10 for Barchester Ashchurch View is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 38 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.630 for Barchester Ashchurch View is calculated as follows: ( (302 Excellents x 5) + (123 Goods x 4) + (21 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 446 Ratings = 4.63
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Barchester Ashchurch View is based on 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 38 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Hello, I'm Becky the Deputy Manager here at Ashchurch View Care Home.

Being appointed as Deputy Manager has been the highlight of my career so far and I'm really enjoying working in the private care sector.

Before joining Barchester, I worked for the NHS, but have always been drawn back into care of the elderly.

I'm proud to be working with such a fantastic team who makes a difference each and every day in the resident's lives. I love to see our residents enjoying the activities we put on in the home and it has become my favourite part of my working day. .

I relish supporting the Ashchurch View care team and I'm excited about our care journey where we are pushing to go from 'Good to Outstanding’.

Hello, my name is John and I'm delighted to be the Head Chef here at Ashchurch View.

Life before food was all about horses where I lived and breathed everything to do with the racing world. This came to an abrupt end when my horse and the upcoming jump had a 'disagreement'.

After my accident I decided to study food and have been fortunate to take my skills to locations worldwide, adding vibrance and flavour to my knowledge pot.

I joined the Barchester team in 2017 and really enjoy working within the elderly care sector as it's not just about tasty food but also about nutrition and planning a balanced diet for our residents.

It is great getting to know the residents individually and it's a pleasure to work for them as I get to try out new recipes and of course, old favourites. Diet is so important and I thrive at producing nutritious, seasonal, fresh and delicious recipes for our residents I believe this translates into the food I and the kitchen team, serve.

However, I have several years of maintenance experience, and I hope to make a positive difference. I’ve found the environment here to be so welcoming and friendly. Meeting the residents and families, from all walks of life and with diverse experiences, has been incredibly enriching. I’m eager to learn from them and contribute to creating a more homely and safe environment for everyone.

Job Title: Registered General Nurse Joined: 2021

Hello, my name is Anila, and I am part of the nursing team here at Ashchurch View.

Caring for the elderly is such a privilege, and I believe wholeheartedly that respect, dignity, and compassion are vital elements for our job. I love everything about nursing and am passionate about the residents I care for. If the residents are in good health, happy, and well, this makes me feel good. I love to see a resident improving in health and feel that connection with each individual that I care for. Having my residents feel safe, secure and happy is the most important aspect of my role. I have a well-accomplished team, and we work as one, which ensures the care, compassion and well-being we deliver to our residents. I have an excellent relationship with the residents' families, and they enjoy speaking with me about their loved ones.

I'm fortunate to live in Tewkesbury, which I love, with my husband and young son, who keeps me busy when I'm home. I'm very much into arts and crafts and love being able to get involved with our residents and their activities, when I can.
