Barchester Ashchurch View care home provides care in a homely environment for older people, including those living with dementia.

A qualified team of staff create a warm and friendly community and provide residents with 24-hour care.

The home offers facilities to help residents with dementia to carry on engaging with every day tasks and pleasures such as activity kitchens and sensory gardens. Memory boxes with small reminders and items such as photographs are used throughout the home to help each person reminisce.

The team are proud to tailor a unique activities calendar with events to meet the taste of every individual resident.

My Aunt has been a resident for approx 2 years. She has recieved a great level of care from the staff. She is well cared for and very comfortable here. Family very much appreciate the care that the staff give to her.

I found the care home to be very accomodating and helpful. With my daughter we were shown round the home prior to my husbands admission. We found all staff extremely pleasant and willing to explain and answer our questions and concerns.

My experience of Ashchurch has been amazing. The care given to my mum is first class. I have never has any reason to complain. I know that she is well looked after and was the best care for which I am truly grateful. Standards in the home, care, cleanliness, food are all first class.

I have been visiting Ashchurch View for over 5 years with my Pets as Therapy dog. That says a lot about the home and the quality of care I've personally seen over that time
We always receive a very warm welcome from staff and residents alike.
The rooms are lovely and spacious and clean and well maintained.
There
is always an excellent display of flowers and plants as you approach the home. You can tell that a lot of work and pride goes into the gardens
Ashchurch View are very fortunate to have their activities coordinator as their activities coordinator. The range of events and outings she has introduced is brilliant. She is very caring and tries to make a difference to every resident.
I've also been told by a number of the residents that the food is delicious too.

Ashchurch View is a clean and pleasant space. The staff are very professional in what they do. My wife is cared for 24/7 and treated with dignity and respect.

My friend has treated with great care, dignity and respect. Any assistance needed was quickly at hand. Staff were always ready to help respond to questions and give time to listen to questions or requests for assistance. The compassionate care when my friend died was a great comfort to me.

Mum moved in after discharge from hospital. She had had two strokes and two falls and been very poorly. It was sad to realise she could no longer live independently at home. Ashchurch View was recommended to me, and I am so glad it was!
Despite not wanting to go into residential care my mum had settled
in within a few days and now, five weeks later she is really happy and calls it her forever home. The venue is spotlessly clean and the meals a very high standard. But most importantly is the quality of the care and nursing staff. My mum loves every one of the team that take care of her. They are kind, friendly, warm and compassionate. Mum says she feels so safe and secure and doesn't need to worry about anything as it's all done for her. There are activities and clubs twice a day so already mum has made new friends. As for me, well I have peace of mind knowing mum is being supported and cared for by people she likes and in a place that is beautiful, warm and safe.

Warm welcoming and friendly positive vibes! Tiny suggestions: - Food is good - but could be a bit warmer - Staff are lovely but resident wishes they could come quicker when button is pressed.

Barchester Ashchurch View had been my dad's first choice when he was a resident in York suite and his experience over two years, when support was needed, was exemplary and this became my first choice when my husband needed to have care for dementia. The staff are so caring, patient, cheerful and encouraging.
They respect people's dignity and show great empathy for their feelings. There are plenty of activities on offer to stimulate interests and skills and the food is so tasty with plenty of choice. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and homely and all the nostalgic memory objects and pictures are reassuring and comforting. There are plenty of areas to visit in perfect safety within the unit too, giving space and privacy.

I've only been here a short while but I am quite sure I'' be happy here. I cannot fault the staff, they are all very kind and caring and will do anything for you.

I only came here at the beginning of December, so far, so good, I'm very pleased with everything. Staff are very helpful and kind. Food is good, plenty of activities but you're not pushed to join in anything if you don't want to.

Mum's welcome was good for her to start eight weeks respite. All went well, Mum was placed next to the nurses station due to a lot of falls. Mum hasn't complained about any of the staff. Very attentive and ready for a joke and a laugh. The eight weeks have taken Mum time to relax and get to know the
staff and the same for them. We, as a family, hope Mum can stay here and we know she is being well looked after.

Couldn't have chosen a better place for my mother's palliative care. All the staff have made her so welcome, it has a lovely atmosphere, beautifully decorated, clean and nothing is too much trouble. Food is excellent, they cater for all requirements. My mother is happy and as comfortable as she can
be, the nursing staff are really looking after her.

Wonderful event organised by the lovely team yesterday. A (sizeable) group of motorbike enthusiasts and club members gathered outside Barchester Ashchurch View and allowed the residents to view/chat and even sit on a beautiful bike! (The latter being my mum!)
Everyone really enjoyed the afternoon.

If the time comes when I need care in a nursing home, this is where I would like to be.
Some would say that the only reason is that the food is good but every aspect of the care is excellent.
Every member of staff gave my sister-in-law the very best of attention and treated her with dignity when she
died.

Hello, my name is Sam, and I am the General Manager here at Ashchurch View. Welcome to our website!


I have gained a wealth of experience within the health and social care sector and I began my nursing career in Guyana (South America) since then I have worked as a registered nurse and midwife. I then moved to the UK in 2004 working as a registered nurse in the NHS and care sector before going onto securing the role of Deputy Home Manager. I joined Barchester in 2022 as Deputy Home Manager here at Ashchurch View and I am now delighted to have been appointed General Manager.


I am passionate about delivering the best support to our residents at Ashchurch View and promoting a person-centred approach to care.

Hello, I'm Becky the Deputy Manager here at Ashchurch View Care Home.


Being appointed as Deputy Manager has been the highlight of my career so far and I'm really enjoying working in the private care sector.


Before joining Barchester, I worked for the NHS, but have always been drawn back into care of the elderly.


As a Deputy Manager, it is important to be diligent, organised and with a keen eye for detail but be caring and demonstrate the compassion which is imperative to this role. I'm very hard-working, have good interpersonal skills and I'm fully committed to the home and providing best-in-class care.


I'm proud to be working with such a fantastic team who makes a difference each and every day in the resident's lives. I love to see our residents enjoying the activities we put on in the home and it has become my favourite part of my working day. .


I relish supporting the Ashchurch View care team and I'm excited about our care journey where we are pushing to go from 'Good to Outstanding’.

Hello, my name is John and I'm delighted to be the Head Chef here at Ashchurch View.


Life before food was all about horses where I lived and breathed everything to do with the racing world. This came to an abrupt end when my horse and the upcoming jump had a 'disagreement'.


After my accident I decided to study food and have been fortunate to take my skills to locations worldwide, adding vibrance and flavour to my knowledge pot.


I joined the Barchester team in 2017 and really enjoy working within the elderly care sector as it's not just about tasty food but also about nutrition and planning a balanced diet for our residents.


It is great getting to know the residents individually and it's a pleasure to work for them as I get to try out new recipes and of course, old favourites. Diet is so important and I thrive at producing nutritious, seasonal, fresh and delicious recipes for our residents I believe this translates into the food I and the kitchen team, serve.
