Warm welcoming and friendly positive vibes! Tiny suggestions: - Food is good - but could be a bit warmer - Staff are lovely but resident wishes they could come quicker when button is pressed.

- If possible please encourage father in law to interact with activities/spend time in the lounge. Thank you for looking after my father in law.

Mum's welcome was good for her to start eight weeks respite. All went well, Mum was placed next to the nurses station due to a lot of falls. Mum hasn't complained about any of the staff. Very attentive and ready for a joke and a laugh. The eight weeks have taken Mum time to relax and get to know the staff and the same for them. We, as a family, hope Mum can stay here and we know she is being well looked after.

Couldn't have chosen a better place for my mother's palliative care. All the staff have made her so welcome, it has a lovely atmosphere, beautifully decorated, clean and nothing is too much trouble. Food is excellent, they cater for all requirements. My mother is happy and as comfortable as she can be, the nursing staff are really looking after her.

Wonderful event organised by the lovely team yesterday. A (sizeable) group of motorbike enthusiasts and club members gathered outside Barchester Ashchurch View and allowed the residents to view/chat and even sit on a beautiful bike! (The latter being my mum!)

Everyone really enjoyed the afternoon. Thank you to all who organised the event (including teas and cake makers.)

If the time comes when I need care in a nursing home, this is where I would like to be.
Some would say that the only reason is that the food is good but every aspect of the care is excellent.

Every member of staff gave my sister-in-law the very best of attention and treated her with dignity when she died.

My mum stayed at Barchester Ashchurch View twice recently following discharge from hospital and before going home. Thank you to all the team who cared for her, responding to requests quickly. It was really helpful to have nursing care available and such a willing, friendly group of carers. She appreciated being able to meet friends in the coffee area where they could help themselves to a drink and even cake! The catering was good. Great that there is also an attractive courtyard to use on sunny days. Thank you everyone!

Mum was welcomed for respite care at Barchester Ashchurch View at short notice on a Saturday evening following a hospital stay. After just a few days, Mum felt she had put down roots and praised the staff for their kindness.
Mum's room looked out onto a pretty, quiet courtyard and was in the nursing wing. Mum enjoyed the comings and goings of the nursing wing.
We found the home well-led, all the staff we met were caring and appeared aware of their roles and responsibilities.

We only saw one meal that Mum ate - portion was good, menu was balanced. The cakes in the cafe were always fresh and tasty!

My mother has been at Barchester Ashchurch View for four months now and the staff I have met on my visits have been wonderful and so caring. She has a lovely room with views over the fields and although she is largely bedbound, the staff have recently encouraged her to get about in a chair which means she can enjoy more of the excellent activity programme. Staff have made a particular effort to create a colourful plant area outside my other's window. Food is excellent and my mother can request extra fruit. I enjoy seeing the interaction of staff with my mother when I visit. Sometimes it feels like they struggle on staff numbers but certainly those working are so kind, friendly and helpful making Ashchurch a very special home.

Being appointed as Deputy Manager has been the highlight of my career so far and I'm really enjoying working in the private care sector.

Hello, my name is John and I'm delighted to be the Head Chef here at Ashchurch View.

Life before food was all about horses where I lived and breathed everything to do with the racing world. This came to an abrupt end when my horse and the upcoming jump had a 'disagreement'.

After my accident I decided to study food and have been fortunate to take my skills to locations worldwide, adding vibrance and flavour to my knowledge pot.

I joined the Barchester team in 2017 and really enjoy working within the elderly care sector as it's not just about tasty food but also about nutrition and planning a balanced diet for our residents.

It is great getting to know the residents individually and it's a pleasure to work for them as I get to try out new recipes and of course, old favourites. Diet is so important and I thrive at producing nutritious, seasonal, fresh and delicious recipes for our residents I believe this translates into the food I and the kitchen team, serve.

Jenny Clutterbuck
Jenny ClutterbuckJob Title:AdministratorJoined: 2026

Hi, I’m Jenny, and I joined the team here at Ashchurch Care Home in 2026. I originally stepped into this role on a one-year maternity cover contract, but I am absolutely loving my time here. It is such a wonderful environment, and I truly hope to progress and build a long-term career within the company.

For me, the absolute best part of the job is engaging with our residents and being able to spend quality time with them away from my desk. Please do pop by and say hello.

I look forward to meeting all the residents' family members and finally putting names to faces! And meeting new residents as I support them through their time in the home.

My ultimate goal is to ensure the home runs like a well-oiled machine, showing that with the right teamwork, nothing is unachievable. I have studied Hotel and Catering at college and worked in that industry until my first son was born. After a period as a stay-at-home mum, I returned to work as a Practice Manager at a veterinary clinic.

From there, I moved into care, spending 18 incredibly rewarding years working at a home for young disabled adults. I knew those skills would transfer beautifully to elderly care, and it has given me a wonderful new challenge that I find deeply fulfilling.

Outside of work, my life is wonderfully busy. I have been happily married to my husband for 40 years. When I'm not spending time with family, you can usually find me sewing, solving crosswords, reading, or serving as a churchwarden at my local parish church. I am also a massive supporter of our local cricket team, and I am very proud to say my cricket teas have a reputation for being the absolute best around!
