My choice of Ouse View Care Home, for my Aunt, proved to be the right one. I have always felt that the care, understanding, consideration of her needs had always been met. The staff and carers have shown great kindness and empathy to both my late Aunt and her family. I will always be so grateful that she was in Ouse View for her final days, and was with staff that she knew and cared for her. Thank you.

I have stayed at Ouse VIew for three weeks, recovering from knee surgery. My wife is a permanent resident here. I have received veru good care and attention throughout my stay - in all aspects of the home: eg: reception and admin. room service meals, laundry and washing, cleanliness, entertainment. The staff are always friendly, patient and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They take a caring interest in residents with diligence and humour. They seem to like working here. I would gladly recommend Ouse View to anyone looking for a care home that is safe and friendly.

I had 3 weeks respite care at Ouse View after fracturing my leg and being immobile. I was very well looked after by kind and friendly staff 24 hours a day. My room had a lovely view onto fields and trees, with a comfortable bed.
I enjoyed doing activities with the residents in a beautiful lounge near my bedroom.

There was a wonderful warm, friendly atmosphere everywhere. I have already recommended Ouse View to friends.

Mum is in respite care at the moment and I have nothing but praise for Ouse View and the staff. The premises are first class, modern, clean and beautifully maintained. The staff could not have been more welcoming and understanding at what has been a difficult time for our family.

Overall I'm happy with the care that my father receives at Ouse View. The care home is very well decorated and has nice welcoming lounges. The home is very clean and there are never bad odours in the communal rooms. I like that there is a coffee machine and cakes for visitors.
There are plenty of activities for the residents. The dining room looks really nice. The staff are caring and friendly.

My father complains quite a lot to me about the food. He says it's average at best. On the menu it looks really good. I have tried to get them to improve the standard of the meals by taking part in a meeting on the subject and by answering the survey that they sent me and bringing attention to the food but my father still says it's not very good. This is disappointing considering the amount we pay. They have a French chef but he doesn't seem to be able to provide food to even a decent pub standard

While my Dad was only with Ouse View for his last 6 weeks, I cannot speak highly enough of the care he received, and the commitment, patience and support from the staff who looked after him. It felt personal - he was not just a number - he was cared for with dignity and empathy, by people who had taken the time to know him. The facilities were clean, bright, welcoming and well maintained, and there was plenty of space to spend time with him. My thanks to all the staff involved in his care - it was very much appreciated.

Dad initially came to Ouse View for temporary care. Throughout his time there, the kindness, professionalism & thoughtfulness of the staff had a profound impact on us. They were supportive as we settled him in, quickly got to know us, & were always welcoming during visits. Communication was excellent, with staff readily sharing updates when we couldn't be there.
The rooms, shared spaces & garden are comfortable and welcoming, giving us lovely places to spend time together, including enjoying meals and sitting outside. We consistently saw him & other residents treated with dignity, gentleness and respect, even in more challenging situations.

Unfortunately Dad's health declined & he sadly passed away while a resident. As entered his final days, the team provided exceptional end-of-life care, ensuring his comfort while supporting our family emotionally & practically. Their compassion, expertise & respect continued even after his passing. It deeply impressed us all & stays with us.

Ouse View provides outstanding safe care for elderly residents and those with dementia. The care team is extremely professional and delivers care with warmth and kindness. Families are kept well informed and can easily access the home by phone when needed and visits are welcomed. We experienced end-of-life care, and the staff could not have done more for us, providing drinks and snacks and continuous reassurance and comfort over many hours.

It is a modern, thoughtfully designed home with a 'home from home' feel in the furnishings and decor. The garden is also well designed with accessible decking and seating and mature trees that soften the views. The rooms have ensuite facilities with comfortable beds, armchairs and plenty of furniture for personal effects. The large windows provide good daylight and an outlook for the residents and everywhere is kept at a comfortably warm temperature. Dining rooms encourage a social atmosphere, and the food is freshly cooked with plenty of choice at each meal. Snacks and drinks are offered throughout the day. Housekeeping and laundry are also daily events delivering a high standard of cleanliness.

As soon as we walked in, it felt right. The surroundings are fresh and well maintained. All the staff were welcoming and we were put at ease. There is a calming atmosphere and my wife adapted almost instantly.

Mum was a resident for 13 months. The care has been nothing less than extraordinary. The home coped well with her dementia and confusion on going into the home and helped us deal with our stress at watching her struggle. Mum did settle and was really happy. When she became ill, ambulances were called quickly and we were also informed in a timely manner. On being ready to be released from the hospital, she was assessed immediately by the home and they facilitated quick repatriation to the home. When Mum became bed-bound and unable to feed herself, the home just responded. She was never left alone for long. She was repositioned regularly, so she never got any bed sores. Her liquid and food intake charts were always up to date. The staff really knew my Mum, we really felt they cared.

We, the family were also cared for. An absolute gem of a home. We were all blessed to have found it.

My mother has been a resident for six months now. We continue to be very impressed by the standard of care she has received. All the staff seem to go out of their way to support residents in a friendly but efficient manner and make visitors feel welcome to the home. She is treated as an individual and her specific needs are recognised and addressed. Our view is a lovely environment and staff work so hard to provide first-class care. The fees are not cheap but if you're lucky enough to have the money, it's worth every penny for the peace of mind knowing how good the care is. Thank you to everyone.

My aunt has been at Barchester Ouse View Care Home for just over three months. She always said she never wanted to go into a care home but when she came to look around, she wanted to stay. She is very happy there, she has company, a lovely room, plenty of activities to keep her occupied, good food and most of all, a host of friendly staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. Best of all, peace of mind for me as I know she is being well looked after.

My father-in-law came in for two weeks respite care whilst myself and my husband went on a much-needed holiday. The staff were all lovely and brilliant. My father-in-law loved his stay there and said all of the staff were so caring. His room was gorgeous. He loved the meals and also getting involved in the daily activities. It gave us great comfort to know he was in very safe hands so we could actually relax and enjoy our holiday. We would definitely recommend Barchester Ouse View Care Home to everyone we know. We are so thankful and grateful for taking great care of him.

A most distressing experience for me as a carer for my husband of 38 years who suffers from Alzheimer's. I needed a weeks respite having been ill myself. It was the hardest decision I have ever made as I promised I would never "put him in a home". I went to Ouse View and was pleasantly surprised at the high quality of staff and environment. Then he had an hours assessment. During both visits I repeatedly stressed that he needed personal care at all times due to incontinence and his inability, to change the necessary pants on his own. I left 50 pairs saying I would get more if required Only 14 out of 50 pairs had been used a week - 2 pairs every 24 hours! He uses 6-9 pairs in 24 hours. He has dementia and doesn't know when they need changing. If asked if he needs changing he will say "no". I had hoped this would be a regular respite care home for him but sadly not. My worst fears recognised. Have tried to get a meeting with the manager to no avail. Top cost doesn't mean top-quality care.
