My husband Jim has settled in no bother he has made friends. He joins in with all the activities and enjoys them. In fact he has a better quality of life than he did at home as he would not do anything other than watch T.V. He has more company than he had at home and enjoys it and he loves all the staff

Visiting my brother who is currently enjoying respite care at Barchester, I was first greeted by you wonderful staff who were so friendly. I was immediately put at ease with the wonderful comments and updates regarding him; comments were so complimentry of how he had settled in.
The facilities were
exceptional, bright, cheerful with a wonderful homely atmosphere. I was so impressed.
My brother emerged from the dining room having eaten a hearty lunch. He had a wonderful lighthearted air to him, which I've not see in years. He loves it there.
We sat for over an hour laughing, talking like of which I haven't seen or enjoyed for such a long time.
You seem to have re-awakened the spirit within him - just like the good old days.
Thank you!

Today I visited Barchester Meadow Park to visit my brother who was staying for respite. Previous visits with him at his home he barely spoke a word. Today he was bright, happy and smiling, talkative too! What a great change.
Barchester staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming.

It was a very hard decision for Mam to go into a Care Home due to her dementia and her care needs progressing. Initially it was recommended that she had respite care with being in hospital long term as Dad was her main carer and he was unable to meet her new needs. The Care my Mam receives is excellent,
I can not thank the staff at Meadow Park enough for the care and compassion they give my Mam, the staff go above and beyond to make sure my Mam is looked after. We are now hoping that she can stay there on a long term basis. Thankyou for looking after my Mam x

Absolutely fabulous! It's was very hard to accept that Mum needed full time care due to her dementia but the staff at Meadow Park go above and beyond. The staff and the manager are like part of our family now. The manager is always there and listens to you no matter how busy she is.
Mum is looked after
so well and she is happy and contented there. It is such a lively and happy place and the staff are always having a fun time with the residents.
Thank you for looking after Mum and being there for me too.

This has been a very challenging time especially for my mam but things have been made so much easier to deal with due to the support and care provided by Meadow Park. From day one my mam was made to feel welcome, supported, and part of the community. First impressions of the home is that it presents
a homely environment, the staff are friendly on hand to answer questions and supportive to residents and family. Management have an open door policy and available to speak to if required six weeks on and I am happy and relieved to see that my mam is receiving the care and support she needs. I would happily recommend Meadow Park for respite or full time care.

I can't thank the staff enough for their quick action following a sudden decline in my dads health. They stayed with my dad until emergency services arrived and keep me updated at all times. After a short stay in hospital my dad returned to the home that he now calls his home. I have no hesitation to
recommend this home. The staff at the home are amazing and its piece of mind that my dad it getting well looked after.

Staff are excellent, caring & thoughtful, even though turnover appears high a very high standard is maintained. A suggestion is to try to keep same staff when possible on the dementia 1st Floor to maintain the resident carer relationship and if possible always female staff. Special mentions to 4 staff
members in particular for their initiative and caring roles.

When a certain member of staff (which I won't name on here) speaks to a nearly 97 yr old with such a foul attitude is absolutely disgusting. This was infront of my mother who was visiting so I dread to think how she speaks to residents when visitors are not there.
Telling my elderly grandmother who
has dementia can not retain information that it's disgusting the amount of dirty laundry she's making. Also that it's ridiculous the amount of incontinence pads she was using. This was all said in an abrupt manner, she was spoken to after my mam reported it but my concern is how many residents does she do this to that can't speak up?
I will take this higher if I ever hear or see anything again.
Other than this one member of staff I can't complain about the rest as they are all fantastic just a shame one bad apple.

My Grandad is thriving at Meadow Park.
Moving a loved one to a care home can be stressful, but it was the best choice for his well-being. He enjoys his independence with support from caregivers as needed. He takes part in group activities that keep him active and engaged.
I am grateful to the staff
for making his transition smooth and for creating a warm, welcoming environment that feels like home.
For anyone thinking about this care home, I highly recommend it.

My mam has been in Meadow Park Bedlington for almost 5 years and she has always received excellent care. She was put on end-of-life at the end of January 2024. However, she is now doing well again. I attribute my mam's recovery due to the exemplary care from all the hard-working dedicated staff. Across

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.729)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.729) out of 10 for Barchester Meadow Park Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.879 for Barchester Meadow Park Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (157 Excellents x 5) + (15 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 174 Ratings = 4.879
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.85 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Barchester Meadow Park Care Home is based on 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.85
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 61 registered maximum number of service users is 12.2, which has been reached with 14 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Twenty years as a home manager enabled me to gain a plethora of knowledge and experience in the care sector. I have achieved many qualifications and continue to learn daily.

I am kept very busy at work and at home and in my spare time I enjoy taking care of my granddaughter. I look forward to meeting you when you visit our home.
