A welcoming, friendly atmosphere. A good range of activities, with lots of encouragement to participate. Mam reports that the food is always good. There is evidence of quality main meals & regular snacks on visits. A personal touch, mam is known by carers, her needs understood

My mother arrived at bedewell grange initially as restbite but that turned into a permanent move. From the first visit as family members to her actual move in has been a smooth transition. All the staff are lovely there's such a welcoming and homely feel there. Donna the activities coordinator goes above and beyond to entertain everyone

We actually leave knowing our mother is safe and very well cared for at bedewell grange.

Couldn't fault Barchester at all. They go above and beyond to make every person they care for happy content and well looked after. The activities they provide every day keep my nana occupied and busy while also keeping her mobile and moving around. The change in her has been amazing as she's now a part of a home that's more like a family making me feel content in knowing she's happy thriving and well looked after.

My mother in law has been a resident in this home for well over a year now and only today have I once again told the management that the longer she's in there the happier she becomes and this is down to the superb care she gets from all the staff whether it's carers, management, events coordinator or in the salon. She happily tells us every visit how well she's looked after and how grateful she is to us both for making the decision for her to reside there. She was extremely unhappy in her own home and is now the happiest she's been in years and regularly tells us and this is undoubtedly down to the wonderful staff that work there. We can't recommend this home enough!

My mum has been a resident at Bedewell grange for 14 months, she is so happy and very settled there, much more so than she was at home. She loves the entertainment, the friendliness of all the lovely staff. I'm so impressed with the level of care she gets there, she loves her bedroom and the view over the lovely garden. I can honestly say it's the best care home for her. She always says how much she loves it there which means a lot.

Choosing a care home for a loved one with dementia is one of the hardest things a family can do, but Bede Well Grange has made a difficult journey so much easier for us.

My mam, Ann, has been a resident here, and I cannot praise the team enough for the way they look after her. Dementia is a cruel disease that can often strip away a person's identity, but the staff at Bede Well Grange work so hard to see the "real" Ann. They don't just provide medical care; they provide genuine companionship and warmth.

My mother has been in Bedewell Grange now for 4 weeks and she has settled almost immediately which is down to the warm and compassionate staff. My mother has Alzheimer's and was wandering at home, not eating despite carers four times a day and daily visits from family and overnight sleep overs. All the staff are a credit to the care profession; from The carers, cleaners and administrators. Prior to this care my mother didn't join in and was isolated. Donna, the activities coordinator is the real gem in this care home. She ensures all residents are involved and actively tries to find things to do to align residents interests with activities. Her dog Honey is also an added bonus as all the residents love her and it has been proven that pet therapy supports wellness.

Since arrival in Bedewell my mother is so happy and content and states she is never leaving, which gives us as a family a great assurance that she will live well in her preferred place of care. Thank you all so much.

Mum came to Bedewell for respite care but returning home was not an option.
I'll preface the following by saying that I have considerable experience of care homes as my late mother-in-law had MND.
From the minute Denise came to visit mam at home, I was impressed by her caring and reassuring nature.
Mam arrived at Bedewell and was greeted like royalty. Since that day she has slowly brightened. She feels safe and is well looked after. The chefs prepare delicious and well balanced food. There are also plenty of treats. Donna' s itinerary of events for Xmas included an huge bag of gifts for all residents. Amazing!!! We can already see what's planned in January. Mam enjoys the spa baths, the hairdresser and manicure on Friday. We are always welcomed by a caring staff, who help me navigate this new experience for our family.

What I'd improve: larger name tags for staff. More water, mam says yes to tea/coffee but needs her sparkly bottle and promts to drink. Thanks to all!!!

My mam is a recent resident to Bedewell Grange and out of the three care homes visited, Bedewell Grange was our first choice. There are always freindly smiling faces from the staff when you walk through the door and that positivity , in my opinion, cascades down to the residents. I have seen a marked improvement in my mam in all aspects. She looks healthier and the engagement with both staff and residents gives her a welcome distraction.

Keep up the good work because you do a fantastic job.

We realized mum needed residential care after months in and out of hospital.
In March, mum joined Bedewell Grange for respite care. She initially found it difficult to decide to become permanent. I can't praise Rebecca (manager) and all staff enough for all they did to help mum transition to Bedewell after living in her own house.
The Bedewell Grange building is a well thought out design with a large garden - all areas are kept immaculate and inviting. The daily activities are well planned, varied and cater for all abilities. Mum has particularly enjoyed interacting with 'Honey' the dog (who visits during the day), gardening club, washing Honey, pumpkin carving, Elvis tribute days, and bingo to name just a few.

All members of staff are professional, personable and caring. They have made Bedewell feel like home for Mum and are always welcoming and obliging for family members. We are especially grateful for the way staff eased Mums adjustment to her new circumstances. Thank you

The staff are very professional, helpful, polite, nothing is too much trouble for them. Bedewell Grange is immaculate in all areas. The food always smells delicious with the menu on display showing a great variety of choice. The activities are well thought through from ever popular bingo to craft, gardening, cooking etc. not to forget the entertainment.

Bedewell Grange is very safe and secure. My sister has been a resident for 15 months, she is very well looked after. I would recommend Bedewell Grange to anyone considering a care home, it is a difficult decision to make but the staff at Bedewell made the transition seamless and took the pressure from the family. I would highly recommend Bedewell Grange Care Home, our mam has dementia and has recently moved to the care home as a permanent resident. The residence is beautifully decorated and presented, it is spotlessly clean, mam has a lovely room with her own bathroom. Residents are encouraged to personalise the rooms with photos and other belongings.
The staff are so friendly and the care they provide is exceptional, the food is lovely and mam is really enjoying this, in addition to meals the residents (and visitors) are provided with regular hot drinks and treats. There are regular activities, mam recently attended the VE Day celebration. There is also a salon providing hair, nail etc treatments the salon is open one day a week, mam has loved having her hair and nails done.

Mam feels safe, secure and familiar here and has made a couple of friends. My sister, brother & I are so happy that we chose Bedewell Grange for mam.

My father is 70 and has Parkinsons Dementia and poor mobility. After years of my Mum looking after him 24/7, she needed to go away for a couple of months for her own mental health. Originally our social worker had arranged a craehomw for us nearby, but after 1 night he hated it and wanted to leave. Luckily there was a room available here at Bedewell. I can't praise the staff enough for the care they provided, making him welcome, accommodating and engaging with him even though there was a language barrier. They gave him a little party and birthday cake for his 70th and some very happy memories. He's missing them already now he's home, but if we ever need a care home agin, Bedewell would be our first choice. Lovely surroundings, great staff and service. Thank you so much for taking the pressure from us.

Our brother was in hospital for 14 weeks after suffering a bleed on the brain in which it affected his speech and a little of his concentration. We we're informed by the consultant that he needed 24 hour care, so then we looked at Barchester Bedewell Grange Care Home, as soon as I walked in the care home we felt a warmth, the management, activities, housekeepers, chefs and fabulous care staff go above and beyond in making our brother feel like their family member. This care facility deserves the best possible review! Mum has been a resident since Easter and has no time in her life now to be lonely, sad or miss her independence. She is continually encouraged to join in the fabulous activities so carefully planned and executed. The carers, managers and activity coordinators are fabulous and nothing, at all, is too much trouble for them. There is a new cleaner who Mum has high praise for. I had no idea such wonderful places existed and we are delighted we are lucky enough to have Mum in their excellent, caring hands. Thank you so much Barchester Bedewell Grange Care Home. Our family was told our mam/nana was no longer safe to live alone and to source alternate accommodation. We had never dealt with this before and really didn't know where to begin, after lots of research we opted for Barchester Bedewell Grange Care Home on a respite basis. After a few weeks this was made permanent due to the care and professionalism of the staff. From day one, all members of staff and residents made our mam/nana extremely comfortable, quickly turning her into a social butterfly. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who go above and beyond not only for her but for our family. The accommodation is immaculate and has a real sense of a family environment with lots of activities to keep her stimulated.
